The time really isn't going by THAT slowly, and yet every time I look at my ticker, I think "It's SO LONG from now!" I totally just want to start packing my bag and printing out my boarding passes and stuff. No more of this sitting around waiting thing!

Edit: I didn't realize I hadn't posted here before! Hi everyone, my name is Bee and I'll be at WDW from January 6th until the 14th staying at the FW Cabins. My mom and I have been before, but my dad, brother (14), and sister (17) will all be first-timers.

I can't wait to start packing too!! We are surprising the kids after christmas with our trip, so I have to wait a few more weeks!

I figure I am just going to pack lots of layers! Anything is warmer than Chicago in January!

DW and I are heading down Jan 1-8th. I always take the 1st-14th off work to go to different football bowl games but this year my team is going to a non-desireable area so we are going back to Disney instead. SSR here we come.

We are coming too! AKL from January 3-10. DH is running the Goofy Challenge during marathon weekend and we are looking forward to a great week with our girls and my DH's dad and stepmom at the parks.

We were there for the same week in 2007 and the weather was great. Our girls even went swimming. I am hoping for some more nice weather, but even at its worst it has to be better than Pennsylvania in January!

We were at the World last year from Jan 29th-Feb 6th and we had lots of different weather: the first 2 days were cool mid-60's and then next 4 days were in the 80's then we had a big overnight rain storm and it was in the low 60's and high 50's during the day.

Soooo I will pack for all weather and this year I will remember to pack rain jackets for us all!

ME question - never used service for the world (only a cruise 6 years ago).

We are debating between ME or car rental (found EZ rental for $211 for full size, any comments on EZ rental?)

Details:
Sat arrival, 10am flight, should we expect to be at Poly by noon? or is that too hopefull and it will really be closer to 1 or 2pm?

Unless you are planning to go offsite, I am not sure why you would even need a car? ME is just fine for getting to and from the airport and Disney Transpo is fine if you are not in too much of a hurry to get anywhere! You are on vacation! Why not save yourself the $$$ and let somebody else do the driving? JMHO!!

Ah, long story...DH NEVER even wanted to go to WDW, so this is a big thing for him to even go on the trip. That being said, we may just want to take a drive through Orlando, eat off-site occassionally, kids are really looking forward to seeing gators too.

Last time we were at WDW (12 years ago) it took about 2 hrs to get back to our hotel (via bus to downtown disney area) after a long day, soooo that memory has created a desire for a rental.

BTW, we are always in a hurry!

Ah, long story...DH NEVER even wanted to go to WDW, so this is a big thing for him to even go on the trip. That being said, we may just want to take a drive through Orlando, eat off-site occassionally, kids are really looking forward to seeing gators too.

Last time we were at WDW (12 years ago) it took about 2 hrs to get back to our hotel (via bus to downtown disney area) after a long day, soooo that memory has created a desire for a rental.

We always rent a car. DH has no patience for the busses, even if we hardly move our car. We originally rented at Budget but now the Jan discounts are out. We switched to Alamo with a code through Costco and saved $40.

It is worth the expense if your patience will be tested. I also sometimes measure my time in money. Except for the mass exodus after fireworks, you will almost always come out ahead in driving--outside of your bus sitting there waiting for you. And it's even not that hard to drive out of the parks anymore either. And no one's "rear end" is in your face.

YAY - only 32 days left. We got our ME pack last week, and the resort confirmation and vouchers today. I also got DH's Disney gift certificate that I'm giving to him for Christmas as his "unlimited refills for popcorn" while we're at The World! YAY!

We haven't rented from them, I don't think. In 2000 we rented from someone offsite, but it might have been Avis. I think they've since moved into the garage. Being in the garage across the street has become a requirement--even more so now with a 3 y.o. and flying in near midnight (fingers crossed). We want NO hassle.

TripAdvisor can usually help with opinions--but it seems people only post bad opinions. Very few go on and give good or okay or satisfactory--only bad. But it's one place to look. Try the Transportation Board here--they may have more varied opinions.
