January 2010. . . Anyone else going???

I got my ME tags this past week in the mail and the flight times were not on it either. And I DID give it to Disney AND double checked they had it when I had to call back about something else. I will call them when it gets closer to make sure they have it. My connecting flight times changed slightly so I'm just going to wait in case they change AGAIN (3rd time). When we get there I'll make sure they have the departing time so I get the door hangar. On the last trip it was flawless so I'm looking forward to using the service again. BUT, when I was reading over the material, it said if you arrive in Orlando after 10pm, they ask that you get your own luggage and bring it to the ME bus. I am assuming that's because otherwise you would not get it until the middle of the night or the next morning? Because I had actually asked a cast member on the phone a while back and they said I COULD let ME get my luggage for me and I'd have my luggage held for me by concierge and I could get it in the morning. Just have to make sure we pack overnight stuff in the carry-on. I'm not sure what to do. Part of me doesn't want to deal with NOT having my luggage (pj's and such) that first night. Since we're getting in at 10:30pm, I can't imagine it will be crazy getting my own luggage and then taking it over the the ME.
Anyone ever done this?

I had posted my ADRs on another thread, but we've just downgraded from DxDP to regular DDP.

So here are our revised ADRS!:

January 23: Flying Fish 8:30pm
January 24: 'Ohana 6:35pm
January 25: Sci-Fi 11:10am
January 26: Boma 5:50pm
January 27: Artist Point 8:35pm (DH wants to try bison.. I want Cictricos. This has the possibility of changing)
January 28: Le Cellier 12:50pm

SO excited... January 22nd (and Wolfgang Puck Express) is only 40 days away!!! :yay:

So the countdown truly begins... all paid just waiting for docs.

I have started making piles of some summer clothing and thinking of things that we need to remember to pack. I know its early but I am an overplanner and I have 3 kids to pack for so I need to make sure I dont forget anything. :)

I understand completely! :) I too am fighting the packing bug! I have promised my DH that I will NOT touch a suitcase until the Christmas stuf is done and put away! The girls go back to school on the 4th so after they are gone I will haul out the summer clothes and get going! :cool1:

I know January will call for lots of layers, but do you have any specific types/styles of clothes you found worked well?

Also, for some reason I'm obsessing about what pajamas to bring . . . how warm/cold are the resort rooms in January? Will we be too hot in long sleeves/pants?

Thanks!

P.S. - I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the only one whose flight times did not get communicated properly from my reservation to the ME people!

When I called and addd my ME info to my ressie I asked the CM did he need the flight times. He said no, just the date, carrier and flight number because their system syncs with the airlines and they get the updated times. Made sense, so they know when you're delayed and when to expect you.

I admit I have looked at my clothes and my travel tolietries, to see what I need. In 2007 - we had some warm days, but not shorts weather. In 2009-we froze... I have some pics with us in capris and t shirts - :confused3 but that is not what I remember. The best thing I pcked was mini gloves. We needed these at night -I forgot the multiple pairs :guilty: so we shared with who needed it most. So I now have 3 pairs ready to go.

PJs- we wore our flannels, I brought summer weight pjs, but needed the flannel... Keep in mind I am a cold body temperature person

the problem with fla. is you just never know what you are going to get and have to be prepared for 4 seasons... last year it was freezing, but in 2008 it was really nice, i am seriously hoping that it is a warm january this year :goodvibes

We are going January 24th thru the 31st. The last three years we have gone in June so I am looking forward to less crowded and cooler weather. I am just nervous about packing!

We will be there too. Jan 22-30th. I can't wait!!!! :cool1: AKV--Kidani Village

I am planning on packing maybe 2 pairs of shorts and then jeans and t-shirts. We have the luxury of having a washer and dryer in our room so I will not be packing tons and tons of stuff. I will be bringing gloves and jackets for everyone too. I just am hoping that since we are in New England it has to be warmer in FL than MA.

We are coming too! AKL from January 3-10. DH is running the Goofy Challenge during marathon weekend and we are looking forward to a great week with our girls and my DH's dad and stepmom at the parks.

We were there for the same week in 2007 and the weather was great. Our girls even went swimming. I am hoping for some more nice weather, but even at its worst it has to be better than Pennsylvania in January!

We're at POR from January 5-12!!!

I'll be so happy to finally get all these nursing school finals over with on the 16th so I can start really planning our trip!! At least it's all paid for and we've gotten all our stuff so we're good to go. I just want to make sure we know what we're doing once we're there!

As far as the 1/2 marathon, I'm starting to think that just having the experience will be good enough. Finishing...well, that will be a surprise!!

ME question - never used service for the world (only a cruise 6 years ago).

We are debating between ME or car rental (found EZ rental for $211  for full size, any comments on EZ rental?:confused3)

Details:
Sat arrival, 10am flight, should we expect to be at Poly by noon? or is that too hopefull and it will really be closer to 1 or 2pm?

Thanks!! :)

:welcome: to the many new Snowbirds! I'll get an updated list posted soon!

I'm fighting the packing blues. Since my kids won't know until Christmas that we are going, I can't get anything out in the open. At this point I'd usually have the suitcases out with summer clothes in them and all the toiletries checked off the list. I've never been so excited for Christmas to be here!

Hey all! Been a few weeks since I posted, but just wanted to share my excitement....bear with me here :goodvibes

Long story as short as possible: my whole family (my parents, 2 sisters, 1 brother, respective SIL & BIL, 3 neices, 1 nephew) had planned on going to WDW in December 2009 to celebrate my brother's 3rd deployment (this time to Afghanistan). For one reason or another, the trip fell through, so DH and I planned our January trip to celebrate our DD's birthday. We always kept the trip open, and let people know that if they wanted to come along, they were invited. Well, I'm excited and happy to say that my sister, BIL, nephew (5), and neice (1) have decided to join us in January! I'm really excited because my sister is my best friend, and our husbands & kids get along great. Also, best of all, her & her husband haven't gone since we were kids, my nephew's never been, and he's SO excited :yay: My husband and I are so excited and really kind of honored to be able to share this magical moment with them. Does that make us dorks that we're so happy to share such an awesome time in a child's life? I really hope the rest of my family jumps on the bandwagon. I feel kind of bad because my brother has 2 girls that would be just the PERFECT age (8 and 3). My SIL has always just been kind of "if we go, we go, if we don't, we don't" I don't get that attitude, but that's just me. :confused3 Apparently my neice found out that her cousins were joining us, and she had a jealous cry this afternoon. How sad does that make you feel? My husband and I did tell my bro that if they paid for her trip, we'd gladly take her without her parents, but they didn't bite. *sigh* I'm SO excited, but also a little sad for the girls at the same time....

Thanks for reading guys, just had to share my excitement/feelings with others. Sorry for the rambling post!!

44 more days!! :woohoo:
I'm so glad your sister and her family will be joining you. It would be nice if your SIL would change her mind and let your nieces go too. They would love it. Has she ever been to Disney? maybe she doesn't know what her daughters are missing!
