January 2010. . . Anyone else going???

Thank you for your "cheers" on my plans.
Yes planning this trip is bittersweet for DH. But he is very happy. All our trips have been us plus my mom. We have all shared in DDs magical adventures. So I am thrilled I have these ones all to myself. We have never eaten signature before, and therefore never in the castle.
I am still contemplating the Pirates and Pals fireworks cruise- however Jan was cold on those boat rides, so I can't imagine at night for over and hour:confused3
This trip has been alot of planning, a few alternate trips planned and cancelled along the way, so I am pleased with how things have turned out.

I would love to post a PTR and a TR, but I am not one for posting pics of us on the internet - I have been on the recieving end of internet creeps. And I don't know howmany would follow wthout pics,I suppose pics of food and rides would be good enough, because that's what I look for. :confused3

Anyhow this trip is a surprise and bursting at the seams today!

Drakes - if you wanted to do a TR, there are many ways to take and post pics without showing your faces! :) Example - when taking a pic of your DD in front of the castle, you could do your personal shot with her or you looking at the camera and then do a TR shot of the back of your head looking towards the castle! I will try to find you a link to AGPrincess (Emma's) TRs! She too is very uncomfortable with showing her face online and comes up with very creative ways of doing TRs! Just an idea! :goodvibes

Woo Hoo! Tonight we are officially 90 days out, so we will be calling Disney World at 3:00 this morning (when they open) and making our dining reservations. I am so excited!!!! Me and my husband are taking our 2.5 year old son. We are driving from Maryland, so we thought the first day we get there we want to do a character dinner at Magic Kingdom. That will really get my son excited. We have a list of restaurants we are going to try. I will let you know if we get our requested times. Fingers Crossed!!!
Good Luck!!!!!! Hope you got everything!!!
Thanks for adding me to the list, Mom. Wow, that is a LOT of Disers heading to WDW in January.

My dates are set for Jan 15 - 23. I used the 4/7 to book the CBR, but I still don't have a ressie for the last night. I'm hoping for a pin, and thinking about treating us to the last night at a Deluxe. Haven't decided on a dining plan (or not), but went ahead and made ressies for the week. I know we'll want a couple of character breakfasts and a nice dinner for DD's birthday.
I've got:
Tusker House, Kouzzina, and Ohana Breakfast, Rose & Crown, Tony's, SciFi, and Le Cellier dinners.

Now DH is missing with my plans though. He is supposed to be at sea in January, which is why I planned the trip. He hates WDW. Now there's a chance he might be home. So I'll have to cancel, or try to talk him into coming along.
Uh Oh! Hope you get that snag fixed! You certainly don't want to drag an unwilling person to Disney!
Our family of 4, will be down the week of Jan22-29th staying at the Polynesian. We've never done a boat cruise to see the fireworks. Would love to do a share. Our kids are 6 and 3. Let me know if anyone is interested any of those nights.

amy
The boat cruise looks fun but I am trying to keep to a budget. Hopefully you'll find someone to share with you soon :goodvibes

Drakes- COngrats on the ADR's eventhough you lost some sleep over it! Your DD is going to be so surprised!!!!! Some of your dates overlap mine so we may run into each other too!!!! :goodvibes I finally got my ADR's today so I need to work on my itinerary soon!

Hope everyone had a great weekend! I went away to a cabin in the mountains of West VA which was a nice quiet getaway but boy did I miss my internet and TV :lmao:

I PROMISE I'll get an updated list ASAP this week! I've been so busy lately I haven't had a chance to sit and organize it. I know everyone is anxious to see if ADR's cross with each other to plan meets. Thanks for your patience. :flower3:

Just thought I'd say that I did follow a trip report before that posted no pictures of themselves and I still followed and it was good :) She did post a few pictures that were really good and she just blurred out there faces...so just a thought :goodvibes

No matter how cold is in in Disney in January, it is ALWAYS warmer than at home in January! I have never been to Chicago (DH has) but at the end of January we would be VERY happy to see temps of 45 degrees! Have a great time planning the rest of your trip!

I agree with Northern Disney Girl ! I'll take a 45 degrees anytime over the below 0 that we'll probably have here in Québec and Ontario early January.
It will definetly feel like summer to me :cool1:

So much has changed!

So I am still going Jan. 24-29th, but its no longer me and my dfi, My mother and two of my sisters will be going with us. And we are no longer staying at AKV, we had to make the switch to SSV! Which I am ok with, not the best but the pool will be open, so that's good. So there was a lot changes but we are happy! I got up this morning, at 5, only to realize that I got up to early...lol so I took a 20min. nap. I got back up and had all of my reservations in the computer, and there system hung up on me...OMG I WANTED TO CRY!!

But I called back and go everything I wanted!

Sun/24- Arive, DTD Ohana for dinner, and MK
Mon/25-MK day, No ressies for this day but we know where we are eating for lunch and dinner
Tue/26- Epcot- Chef Mickeys for breakfast, Tutto Italia for lunch and Chefs de France for dinner
Wed/27- AK- Cape May dinner
Thu/28- DHS-SiFi lunch, Hollywood and vine for dinner (fantasmic show)
Fri/29- 1900 park fare breakfast, Fultons for lunch.

So this is what I have and I am so happy! I am going back to bed now, today is my day off! lol

buzz, northern girl. I can definitly relate to the weather issues, we were down at the end of january last year, and it was chilly, but we still swam ,i could not get my son off the jaguar slide at CSR, he was going for a record,LOL:rotfl:
as for me, i stayed in the hottub, with my frozen drink:goodvibes

Amy, my husband said he might be interested in sharing a boat cruise! We'll be there the same dates. Just us 3, what's the max on people for one of those?

Everyone's ADRs look fantastic. I think being able to make the reservations 90 days in advance is hard for me, because it just gets me more excited and I have a hard time waiting....I'm seriously like a child. :woohoo:

Thanks for the thoughts about Jan. weather--I was debating on whether we should bring any suits for swimming, but I'll throw some in now. I've heard that on a good day, if you go in the afternoon while the sun is out, it's not too bad. Hopefully, we'll have some good days!

Add us to the list please!

January 23-31, 2010 at the Poly

ADR's for:

Saturday 1/23: Le Cellier dinner
Monday 1/25: Chef Mickey dinner
Wednesday 1/27: Narcoossee's dinner

I just picked up 2 extra days of Disney fun with the 4/3 deal, so now we'll be there from 1-21 to 1-28. I have already made my ADRs through the 25th, now I need to decide where to eat all those extra days!!

We also switched from CR to Poly.

87 days to go

Well I got some bad news today :sad1: As some of you know I am going in Jan to run the marathon and I have been fighting shin splints but I found out today that I am not healing ;) So I won't be able to run... I might be able to walk but I won't know for a while. I am pretty upset because I planned this whole trip to run my 1st marathon and now I can't :sad1: Sorry had to vent :thumbsup2

I am so sorry to hear that. I can only imagine how you must feel. :sad1: My plan was for 2011, walking only right now with plantar fasciatis. I hope you can walk it, My family thinks I'll be running in 2011, I don't, my feet are ruined right now. So maybe we can walk/ run together in 2011?

So sorry to hear about your problems. I admire your dedication and hope that you will soon be running again (and feeling much better). My DSIL will be running the 1/2 marathon and I just am amazed at how people can do it. If you are walking I will still be cheering you on!

Oh my...I can sure feel for you. I have had my experience with plantar faciatis and it is MISERABLE. During one trip to WDW when I had just been diagnosed with PF I walked through the parks with tears rolling down my face. Hope you heal quickly so you can enjoy your trip and train for the future marathons! (Maybe the PF is why I can't even IMAGINE trying to run a marathon)!

I really want Disney World to be my 1st marathon so I am determined to run in this year or next :) I do feel a bit guilty beacause I am not taking my family so I'm not sure if I could do it 2 years in a row :confused3 I may have to plan our next family trip around the marathon :goodvibes I would for sure be intrested in having someone to walk/run with in 2011 :)

I think I'm going to need all the cheering I can get :cheer2: Thanks!!

So I was pulled in....I booked at AKL for President's Day weekend because I got the 40% off offer from the Disney Visa Rewards Card. When else can I afford AKL? LOL!
Oh, and I'm not telling my boyfriend. I'm going to make it an Xmas gift (and early bday gift to boot!)
Right now I am swaying on savannah view. Have standard view right now(pool will be closed when we're there). It's about $200 more for savannah view but again, I can't see myself affording to stay here again so I may just go for it. :cutie:
We loved the DDP last time we went but haven't figured out if I should add it this time. I also PROMISED him that the next time we went, I would NOT be the out of control Disney-down to the minute-planner that I usually am. :surfweb: So this poses some problems if I want to make ADR's. Okay so I will probably make ADR's but just as a loose plan. ;)
The hardest part? Not slipping and ruining the surprise for the next two months! Yikes! :santa:

I was wondering if there will be a DIS MEET while we are there ?

TIA
Mad4Mickey
