January 2010. . . Anyone else going???

YaY YaY YaY!!!! :cool1:

We just booked our vacation January 22nd - January 29th at the Wilderness Lodge - Base Tickets, and we are planning to add the DxDP when the discounts come out!!!

If the discounts aren't terrific, we are going to downgrade to either CSR or Pop, but we are definitely keeping the DxDP to try all of the signature restaurants!! That's DH's only request!

Booking it makes it feel real... even though I'll be rebooking in November when the discounts/codes come out - I'm still so so excited! YaY for the snowbird trips!!!! :woohoo:

We are with you.... downgrading from Deluxe is the deals aren't great. I sure hope they are!:goodvibes

Hi All - I am a newbie here, and my SO and I have made reservations for Jan 3-10 at WL. (I am still getting used to all the acronyms you use!) I have not been to WDW since I was 9, and it was only the MK then. We had no money, so we camped at Ft. Wilderness. I thought WDW was the only place you could get Mountain Dew. lol. I get a lump in my throat every time I think that I am going after a 30-year break. I feel like a 5 year old.

So.....we only made room reservations, as we want to wait and see any deals. Our dates are pretty flexible. It seems like we can add a package with tickets and DDP now and then just adjust if codes come out, is that right?:confused3

Cheers.

Congratulations to all those joining us in January!!!! I can't wait to go back! I haven't posted much but now that the 2010 prices are out, I'm obsessing! I was all set to book this week until my husband told me his boss is on vacation this week. So now I have to wait until next week when he gets back so Hubby can ask for the time off. I'm sure his boss will agree to anything but you never know. :confused3

I also need to get a hold of my brother and SIL since they are planning on joining me at WDW this time around. They live 3000 miles from me and can be hard to reach sometimes. So here I sit, waiting! Obsessing! Daydreaming! :earsboy:

Our list of potential ADRs are:
- Crystal Palace for breakfast
- Fantasmic dinner package at Brown Derby
- Coral Reef probably lunch
- Narcoosee's dinner or alternate seafood place

We are also meeting a friend who lives in Orlando for dinner. Thinking downtown Disney so she doesn't need to drive too far into the park. Any suggestions?

CP for breakfast is yummy! The characters are fun. Pre DD we ate there and were so hungry we basically waved off the characters with one hand while eating with the other. :rotfl:

Other seafood place: Flying Fish at the Boardwalk.

Why not ask your friend for suggestions? She might even have something off-property for you and she could come pick you up. Just a thought. She might even have an on-property favorite.

A huge :grouphug: and WELCOME to all of our new friends!!! We're glad you found us!

Yes and no...when the codes come out, they're only "available" for a certain amount of rooms/resorts, etc, so when they come out, they may not always have the exact room/resort you want. Some of us have had to adjust things a bit to get the discount. But yes, all you have to do is call and they'll cancel one ressie and make you a new one with the code! We're expecting beginning of November is when they'll release the codes! We'll all be waiting...patiently...:rotfl:(yeah, right!!!!)
:worship:Free dining...please give me free dining...:worship:

Wow!! Congratulations to all of the new Snowbirds just booking their January trips!

Hope you all get the great deals and upgrades you are hoping for!!

Did I read that there would be a possible Free Dining in January?

Oh My!!!! The Snowbird List sure is growing!
:welcome: to each and every one of you!!! We'll get you all added to the list next time it's posted...which probably won't be long since so many new faces need to be added!

At least we can all watch and wait for those codes together. Dining, 4/3, hotel discount, whatever they want to give me, I'll take!

I think it's so funny that all the January peeps are calling themselves 'The Snowbirds'. We're going in January but I can't exactly label us 'snowbirds'. I think if my boys thought we'd have a chance of seeing snow they'd be over the moon with excitement. They've only seen snow maybe once or twice and it was only an inch if that. We don't see white stuff falling from the sky on a regular basis here in Southeast Texas. Before we lived here it was Southeast Louisiana so no snow there either. So for us, I'll just say we're all playing hooky from life because 9 days of escape is nothing short of bliss.

I'm just like everyone else...since the rates were released I'm obsessing. I love it! The inner Disney Dork is coming out in full force! :woohoo:

My ADR's for this trip I'm planning
50's prime time
Ohana
California Grill
Boma
Coral Reef
1900 Park Fair
1 night CS taken up to our room in CR to watch wishes from our balcony. DH is most excited about this night.

All dinner. The last time I went as a grand gathering of 14 people in January we never waited for seats for our ADR's. Sold me on DDP forever, food is great and really saved us money. This time in Jan there also weren't any waits for the rides either.

I have offically gone Disney crazy  I was planning on doing a solo trip but a friend of mine decided to join me and run the marathon too :yay: I was booked at ASM but then we decided to rent points and stay at SSR but now with all this talk of possible good deals I am thinking we should just book a MOD hotel and keep our fingers crossed that we get a really good deal :confused3 I don't know what to do. SSR seems so quite and relaxing but I do like to save money :rotfl:

I'm getting organized and working on my binder...wanted to share this if anyone else needs some inspiration to get organized. I posted pics of my binder in my PTR if anyone is bored.
