January 2010. . . Anyone else going???

YES!!! We're doing just that. My DDs will miss one week of school (they did last Jan. too) so we can see all the Christmas stuff. It's a lot easier in grade school for most. If you can do it, do it now, rather than when he is in middle school. Much more school work!

Also you might try to do the math and figure out what the 4/3 deal would actually cost you and see if it COULD be a better deal if it were to happen.

I've not been since 2007...wondering if I really need ADRs months in advance?

The only places I REALLY want to eat at are Japan and Mexico.. I'm pretty flexible on everything else (ok... Lunch at SciFi)

We tend to be an "as it happens" couple and don't plan alot.. do you think we'd be okay making dinner reservations when we get there?

Book your must dos. just in case.

Otherwise you will be fine. DH and I did all walk ups last Feb we have a much better time just seeing attractions and eating when we are hungary. Instead of staring at our watches worried about missing ADRs.

I would bet you could get into Mexico at some point without an ADR. I've not heard much about people dying to get in there. (unlike LeCellier, CM, CRT, Ohana) Japan?? not so sure. You could at the 90 day mark or a little after, just go online and see how full it looks. Then, if it looks busy, book something that you really want so you have it. You can always cancel.

I would book your 'must-do' places. It seems to me that it is getting harder to get an ADR. We chanced it on a few things our last trip, but if you really want to eat somewhere then you should make an ADR.:goodvibes

You also could do a "day-of" ressie. We sometimes go to Guest Services right when we get to a park or at our hotel and see what's available in the area where we plan to eat and a time when we plan to eat. And we've cancelled them later in that same day. It gives you a plan that you don't have to stick to.

But I'd ADR Japan.

I don't think 4/3 is quite as good as 40% off, since you're still paying for over half of your nights. Plus, to get the bang for the buck, you have to stay 7 nights. In our case, we don't have 7 nights.

If you're flexible, do some quotes. If not, take the deal that works in the time you want to go.

enjoy!

Thanks! ya, I def want to do Japan.. I've totally gotten into all things Japanese these days... I started training in Shotokan Karate last year and have become obsessed.. even got a Japanese style tattoo.

Getting my popcorn and waiting to Aug 1st for some deals.

I am sooo excited:banana: Just got off of the phone with Disney and got my reservation booked for CR tower MK view January 23 thru January 30th. Have I said yet that I am sooo excited. Now bring on those rates!!!! Hoping for 40% off but 7/4 deal will work too! 40% would be a better deal though. Anyone know when the magic hours calender for January/Feb will be out?

I don't remember when the hours came out.

On another note, we'll be there the same time and are also from Missouri (and we're driving down...ugh!!!)! What area in Missouri are you in?

Hi everyone!! At risk of sounding CRAZY!! I did receive a pin email. 40% off until Dec 23. We were originally planning to go jan 1-6. Due to school and DH vacation time.

Questions: 1. Is this deal worth pulling DS out of school during the Dec time to see WDW at Christmas time? (DS is 10 DD is 2)

2. Should we hold out for the hopeful 4/3 during January? DH will have more vacation time then as well........

Any advice would be appreciated....

Thanks guys!!
I was having the same issue and it's hard to try and compare since there's no way of knowing if we are getting a deal in Jan or not. My decision was made easier when my DH found out he can't take vacation until after Jan 1.
I would love to see Disney at Christmas and someday I will. :santa: There's always the next trip!

Congrats on getting plane tickets!!!! Makes it much more real doesn't it!!!

Today I booked Jan. 3 - 8 at Poly. I can't believe it! This will be the 1st time for my kids to visit WDW, and the first for me since 1987! I hope we have at least one day warm enough for swimming. Hip, hip hooray!

It is silly how excited/nervous I was to make that call today! Plane reservations are next week.

:cheer2:

Kids have no temperature gauge, and the pools are nice and heated so you can swim...althought it was a little unnerving last year getting in the pool while others were sitting there with sweatshirts and coffee! :rotfl:

Count me in! Treehouse Villas Jan 19th thru 26th. Taking a large group this time.

Preliminary plans include:

Adr's to make: Boma, Sci-Fi, Cinderella's Castle for lunch, Germany's Biergarten for Dinner, Lunch at Hollywood and Vine with Disney Playhouse Characters.

Fun items: Get a sitter and adults go to Epcot and drink around the world, Wonderland Tea party at GF for little girls, Big girls go for Afternoon tea at the same time. Maybe a VIP tour guide for MK. Also, one night take advantage of the grille and kitchen and have a Dinner Party in the Trees!!

We are in Lee's Summit Kansas City area. We drove once about 6 years ago with a 7 moth old a 2 year old and a 5 year old. It was a long drive. We stopped overnight in Nashville to break it up. Are you just driving because you want to? 3 years ago when we went last we got a deal on Southwest for 85 pp round trip. I dont think I will see that kind of rates again but last year the rates were 140-180 pp round for the time we are going. Where are you staying at disney?

 YEAH!! I booked and paid for my marathon package :cool1: I will be staying at ASM. I really wanted to stay at the WL but since it's only me going I don't want to spend to much $$ I am SOOO excited that I am done and paid for :cool1: On a sad note I went looking around for a photopass share and I can't believe that they are not allowed any more :sad2: I did one last year and I really don't want to pay $100 for 2 days?? Oh well I guess I'll have to figure something out!!

Hello everybody!! I haven't been over here to check on my Snowbird buddies in a while!!! Just wanted to share that we got FD for our Dec trip!!! YIPPEE:cheer2: We saved around $1250!!!! I am so hyped!!! Had to share it with some friends that I know will appreciate my thankfulness!!!! I have also been out of town for a few days and haven't followed any threads...has anything been going on that I missed? Soleil, have ya'll decided anything about a house yet?
Well, now I gotta get up and do my "chores"--I have been on this computer with the code thing, so time to get moving!! Have a wonderful day!!! Keep those fingers crossed... I know ya'll are gonna get a good deal for Jan too!!!
