I just read this on mousesavers!!! Maybe we will be going back this year after all! I did love going in January, but I've always wanted to do the DDP. This would be the best way to try it out. Free!!

Go for it Meghan... we went in August one time... sure it was hot... but not unbearable... we would be going but DD is going to New Zealand to study for a semester next year... so that extra $7000 on top of paying a full year of tuition at her university.... so I am guessing that Disney might be out for next year....

Is it free dining for Card holders only? I only skimmed through there! I would love free dining---but I know Mike would say we couldn't go back in 10 if we did that! I reallllllly don't do well in the heat, so it probably wouldn't be advantageous for me anyway, but free dining!! wow!!!!

Well, G isn't saying 'no' to a January trip anymore. He's actually smiling and saying 'cool' when I talk about. Does 'cool' mean I can book something?:cool1:

get on the phone!!!!!! Start booking! Get ressies out for SOMETHING!!!! Anywhere! Just get started!! yeah for you!

I think we are going to do POP this time. I was thinking about Carribean Beach or Port Orleans, but then I remembered all of the bus stops.

I so wish we could do Poly, CR or Beach Club, but we don't want to spend that much on Disney two years in a row.

And PS.... this is just between us Snowbirds. If we really do decide, I want to announce it at the end of my trip report.:goodvibes

Yeah for booking trips!!! I am so exited for everyone.
I am still in the debate mode...
does an august trip delet the option for snowbird trip in 2010?
Gee our Jan 2009 trip was boked 11 months or more out! I guess I am behind in the game! LOL

Happy Saturday to all! :flower3:I am so happy, it's bright and sunny here, :cheer2: even tho I am studying for my course! :guilty:

Right I should get back to that! I much prefer dising;)

Hey everyone! Love catching up on everyone's plans! We're quietly planning another Jan/Feb trip next year, but then I saw the free dining announcement (and the rumor that it should be open to general public on 3/30)! On one hand, hubby is great because he's game for ANY trip, on the other hand, I kind of need someone to keep me grounded!! He'd be fine to take a trip every other month...he just doesn't think about how we'd pay for it!

We've been going thru a roller coaster of emotions lately. He was presented with this very cool business opportunity that could've been very excing (and lucrative) for us. (like most everyone else, we live pretty much paycheck to paycheck in jobs we both really don't like but are stable, but then we both have 2nd jobs that we like, but are solely commission to pay for "fun" stuff). But then by the time he did all the background work to go present to the "new" bosses, the numbers he had to present just didn't make the business viable! We were both very dissapointed, and yes I know God has a plan for us, but it's still been a sucky week!! So the thought of starting to really plan a Disney trip...:love::hippie::cheer2:

Jenny~ don't be disappointed--God does a have plan for you! Remember Jeremiah 29:11 ? Think on that for a while!!!!!!It's soooo awesome! and just realize He knows what is best for you --He may be preparing you for something different & better a little farther down the road!

BellaS~ We stayed at the ASMovies when we just had the 2 boys and I really liked it over there. The buses were always quick-I think we waited like 15 minutes one morning and that was the longest a.m. wait. Now, the evening wait was longer! We rented a Disney stroller and that was one thing I would have changed---toting back 2 tired little boys, diaper bag and our own tired feet was toooo much. I would def. bring my own stroller if I were going to do the buses at night with a little one now!!!!!

CBR and POFQ are better because they have all the bus stops.

We are going to go on a cruise this summer, on Carnvial. It is a five day eastern caribbean cruise.
I have not booked it yet, but hopefully in the next month. So no disney for us this year.
August is just too hot for me. The lines and heat were a damper on our trip in 07.

We did the values a few times (and had rented strollers) and it SUCKED carrying those heavy sleeping kids back to the rooms! We brought our own stroller the last two trips, and although it was hard (for hubby) hauling that heavy double stroller on and off the bus, it FAR outweighed the alternative! I'm thinking of going back to Pop the next trip. I liked CBR but I'm not sure if the money was worth it.

I know, I know! But bring it on already! :rotfl:

OK, I have to ask - what's Jeremiah 29:11? I'm not familiar enough with the Prophets to call up the verse.

Thanks.

I hope everyone had wonderful vacations. I stopped reading this thread back at page 86, so I have a lot to catch up on. I cannot wait to read all the trip reports and hopefully do one of my own. I am not tech. savvy so until I figure out posting photos and have some time, then I should be able to.

I feel so happy for all of you returning again, some in January, others at other times I am a wee bit envious. We too saw the free dining and wanted to sign up, but DH is laid off from 2 jobs and we can't see trying to go again just yet. His family that we usually travel with are talking in another 3 years so that is when we will all go for a grand gathering. If DH gets back to his first job, we will try going a bit sooner. DH is now into running and our goal is a couple only trip for a Disney marathon in January.

I will try to read everyone's trip reports. I might not post but I will read. It is so exciting to know we all experienced some of the same things and I will read of all the things my family missed.

We had a great trip the last week of January. It was basically a walk on to everything!!! No matter what park we went to, never did we feel that it was crowded.:cool1: Most rides there were no waits, just the time it took to walk through the ques to get to the ride. We will go this time again anytime, hands down. I loved that first week.

The second week, the first week of February felt really crowded. We had to leave AK once due to the crowding. We are so grateful to experience all we wanted to the first week so we just went to the favorites the next. Of course it wasn't crazy busy but still not like the week before.

We stayed at the POP and had a fabulous time there. We weren't in a preferred room but in the '80's building closest to the bus stops and the main building. It was about a 7 minute walk right to the food court and a 5 minute walk to the bus stops. Most times they had great service for the buses. Always brought in more when the line ups were long, so it never seemed too bad. Our only bad experience with buses were trying to find the POP buses at Downtown Disney, all other buses came, sometimes it seemed 4 buses for the Poly, SOG to one POP bus. Other than that, to the parks and back, not too bad. We loved the one stop, compared to the many stops we experienced the last time at Fort Wilderness. I think it all is what you wish to experience. I detest sitting on a bus going from stop to stop then going to a park, compared to the POP where there is only one bus to each park and one bus to the resort. We also didn't hear any extra noise from others or the outside and we were on the ground floor. We would go back to the POP in a heartbeat. I would like to try French Quarter but we did really like the POP.

I hope to keep in touch with all of you. You are all a great group of people.

Remmy:flower3:

Goodmorning Everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend!

Jeremiah 29:11-13 -

"For I know the plans I have for you", declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart."
