January 2009. . . Calling all Snowbirds ~ Part IV !!!

Good morning Snowbirds.... just wanted to check in.... I am home now... feeling like I got into a collision with a large truck and it won....I am able to move around slowly while the pain meds are working.... other than that I am flat on my back..... thanks for alll your kinds words and prayers.... it will still be a few days before I am able to sit up and Dis for any period of time... I miss you all.....

You are home! I remember being in the hospital for my galbladder surgery...I felt 100% better just being home in my own bed!

It's cold here and it snowed over night. We've got some running to do quick this morning before crowds get horrific around the mall area. Then it will be back here for me to Scrapbook my life away!

Snowing here all morning! It's pretty, but I'm in the country and don't feel like getting out of the house at all today, but we are going to a school play, "The Little Mermaid".

Being a scrapbooker, do you know about "The Paper Cut" in Appleton? They are having a HUGE warehouse sale next weekend and even a night of card making on Friday night. I go every year, but I'm hoping for no snowstorm next weekend. I'm about an hour's drive away from Appleton, so I would like the roads to be clear.

Hope everyone is having a beautiful weekend. I'm jealous of the Magical Mail. It always seems that my TA doesn't send my paperwork out until 2 weeks before my trip Makes me panic!

Well, how about this picture: When at the grocery store, she would use her cane to get things off the top shelves. She would arrange the cart and just knock the item into the cart. Yeah, really funny when she would try to do it with glass bottles. Needless to say she's not allowed to bring her cane along anymore...

I just had to share with you all my Disney O M G moment.....

Last night I had to run with DD to drop off a Secret Snow Pal gift at her friends house. Since I've been in the house all week with sick croupy DS the mail hadn't been picked up in a few days. Our mailbox is the community type...several boxes in one large unit about 3 houses down from our house. So I'm driving and ask DD to get out and get the mail . She does and my neighbor walks past and starts to talk to me about DS. Meanwhile DD is reading the mail. I say bye to the neighbor and realize I forgot my cell and drove back home to run in and get it. I leave DD in the car...she is still reading the mail. I run back to the car and move all the mail from between the seats. That's when I saw it! Right there in the middle of all the letters and magazines and store ads....was....my ....Disney.... Magical..... Express.... Letter!!!!! I quickly scooped up all the letters and said in a casual voice (while I was freaking out in my head) "Did we get anything good"? She says "nothing, but we did get"........ This is where My heart starts to pound out of my chest........."a catalog from Target with a $10 off coupon on the back...Can we go to Target in the morning"? You could have knocked me over with a feather! I really don't think she even saw it. I mean the girl can act...but not that well. I think if she had seen it she'd be hyper and asking 100 questions. But nothing!

Only 19 more days to keep the secret!
and.... Only 33 more days until I'm in my happy place!

OH MY GOSH!!! I am so worried about something like this happening to me too! We have worked so long and so hard to keep this a secret since July, I will be crushed is something ruins it!!

I love it!! She's a girl after my own heart!! Target ROCKS!! I bet you were in a panic! I can't imagine keeping this a surprise. I'm on DIS all the time and my kids are in and out looking over my shoulder constantly. DD7 is a great reader, she'd know so fast! LOL

Luckily for me my kids are totally oblivious. They are both good readers, but I think they get too distracted by all the bouncing smilies on the screen to bother reading what I am typing!!

I'm with you on this! It happens to me ALL the time! I was at a grocery store with my DD and I was buying her a candy bar. The cashier said "Oh, isn't it nice that you're sister is buying you a candy bar!" I was like, "I'm her mother!" The guy felt really bad and couldn't believe it when I said that I was 26.

We just got back from the mall. DD wanted to go see Santa. We got a very cute picture and Santa took lots of time with her just chatting about what she wanted. It was wonderful! We only had to wait in line for about 5 minutes too!

I can't wait until tomorrow. DD and I are going to see The Nutcracker. It's the BalletMet version and they're performing with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra! It's going to be great! Then, on Sunday, my parents are taking my DD to my dad's work Christmas party. She has quite the holiday weekend!

Enjoy that now will you can! I use to get that with DS, I was 22 when I had him. My Mom was 40 when she had me, so I got the "Is that your grandmom, and my Mom looked young for her age.

I haven't planned it out exactly but I think we are going to do it Christmas morning after all the gifts have been opened. I'm leaning towards a scavanger hunt with clues in all the boxes or each box spelling out the surprise. I even thought about hiding a tiny little box up in the back of the tree and then after all the gifts and mayhem has died down pointing out the little box. Inside I'd roll up a long note/scroll with the announcement?

I love the new Disney commercials. My favorite is the little boy sitting in class.
You guys must be just bursting at the seams! I would not be able to handle that. I love being in all the planning stages, but I also think it would be great for someone to just look at me and say "hey guess what we're doing today..."

Hello all!! I am back!! I have been so busy since DS birthday!! Then my mom came down to see him Thur and just left--we've been busy, so I have had loooots of pages to read!!!
Mindy~my Paw Paw found out he had the same thing right before I got married-he had a minor surgery and was great!!!! That was almost 15 years ago---Yes, early detection is KEY!!!

Wendy~Glad you are home and safe!!! You will recover much better on your own sheets and taking your own shower!!!!

One more thing~ I found the best board game!!! (AT Target!) for the whole family--it's called Stare Junior. There are pics of all kinds of different things-norman rockwell, ads from magazines from the 40s and 50s-very cute. You look at it for 30 seconds, then answer ?s about what you have seen. The box says ages 6 & up, but my dd is 5 and she's doing great!!!! It's a very neat game-you can do it with or without the board, so no one actually loses!!!

It's been pretty slow on this board today. Everyone must be busy with holiday planning and prepping. I'm taking a break from washing my cleaning. I've been putting a few things up around the house, but I'm not going crazy this year.

My girls loved their St. Nick stockings! I really don't mind that they don't believe anymore..they seem more appreciative this way. They still love the magic though while we are at WDW

Good evening everyone! DD and I had a wonderful time at The Nutcracker this afternoon. It was very very good. My mom took DD to the dollar store today. She does this every year and let's her pick out a gift for all of the relatives. Every year, her gifts that she picks out are so cute and a lot of the time, very funny! I finally put the Christmas lights up in the front window about ten minutes ago. It looks so pretty! We just finished watching The Santa Clause and we're now going to watch Santa Clause 2. We are definately in the Christmas spirit today!

Someday your going to miss hearing those words. Before you know it your going to be in your mid 40's and start getting junk mail reminding you that in a few years you can join the AARP.

Just once, I'd like to hear someone say to me, is that your younger sister when I'm with my daughter, or can I see your id when I'm buying a six pack.

I know that I will appreciate looking younger than my age in about 20 years. My mom does NOT look her age at all, so I'm looking forward to that! I had my DD when I was 20 years old, so that doesn't help matters any! People can't believe that my DH was 18 and I was 19 when we got married. It will be seven wonderful years of marriage this April!

Well, time to get back to the movies. DH just got home from the store! I hope to be around for a bit tomorrow. I'll be with my dance team for the majority of the morning and into the afternoon for an appearance. Then, DD is going to my parents Christmas party. My DH and I will be able to watch the Bills game together! I'm hoping for a win! Good night!
