BTW....

I'm not sure if I will be around much today. I am moving into my new 'pimped-out' (for lack of a better term) desk. We will be moving my computer and everything else.

Afternoon Snowbirds! I just finished making rudolph noses! I think my kids ate more hershey kisses than we used. It certainly was fun though! :santa:

Take mine please!! Now, in addition to the foot of snow, there is a sheet of ice on the driveway and sidewalks, the streets are still a mess, and it is so cold it is not funny.

On the postive side, today is the last day of school until January 5th, but luckily, we didn't lose any days due to the storms. We got out early on Friday and came in late yesterday, but they still count as full days. So, not going to have to stay longer in June, which with high school kids - is a LONG month anyway. DD and I hope to get out later today to finish the shopping before we get more snow/sleet tonight! But then it is due to warm up to the 40's by Christmas day, so maybe some of this snow and ice will go away.

I'd be happy to share mine, too! It's getting a bit ridiculous, and it's supposed to be horrible again today through tomorrow night. I'm so sick of Winter Weather Advisories and Winter Storm Watches and Winter Storm Warnings and Blizzard Warnings...will it ever end?

I can't wait for Florida!
My complaint is that if it's going to be THIS cold you may as well send me some snow! No ice though- I'm not a fan of ice.

For those that don't like all the snow perhaps Trixie could send us some yummy eye candy to warm us up! Perhaps it could get hot enough to melt some of the snow for all of you overwhelmed by all of it! :sunny: :beach: :sunny:
Okay, so I have to share a funny /yet disgusting story with you all.

Each night, after dinner Belle has to go and look out the window at the "Mooooon". On the way last night, she found a little suprise from Lulu our dog (who apparently didn't want to brave the cold and thought she would be sneaky by doing her business on our brown rug). I happened to pass by at that point and Belle was sitting on the rug-hands out, feet in the air- screaming "Mama! Poo Poo! Yu-Yu, Poo Poo, Mama!" She was horrified! I yelled for G to come and help and he picked her up off of the ground. By this time she is hysterical and is in the same postition (Hands out, feet out... almost looks like she is trying to ride a motorcycle.) We cleaned her off and then gave her a bath. All night long she asked to have her feet washed, this has continued into today. My child is truly traumatized!
Oh Poor Belle! Really I'm laughing with you not at you! You should write that one in her scrapbook! I'm sure the future boyfriends would LUUV to hear that one!
Good morning! I'm off to my DD's school today for her concert and party. She is so excited to have school today! She hasn't been since last Wednesday due to being sick and then 2 snow days. I'll be back later!
Hope she has fun! When I was teaching- party days were my favorite days! Plus they usually meant vacation was coming soon!
About the stomach bug - anybody know if alcohol-based sanitizers do anything? Bath & Bodyworks sanitizing gel is 60% alcohol. I know the alcohol free stuff is worthless against the virus, and the bleach-based stuff is best, but how does alcohol play out?

Off to do some research! :surfweb:
good question!:confused3
2 Sleeps until Christmas!

:santa: :santa:
So Exciting!!!!! You must be going out of your mind! :crowded: :bored:
Where's your lurking sister? Come out, come out wherever you are!!!
Oh she is sooo going to kill me! :rotfl2: She should be home from work soon and I'll be sure to avoid the phone.:rolleyes1
So yesterday I got out of work early, went to Target to buy the "last few things". HA! Got home and my parents had stopped by to drop off some stuff before Thursday. Dad corners me in the garage as I'm unloading bag after bag and says, "what did you get your mother for Christmas?" I tell him and he then says, "I got her a book. what else did she want?" I tell him she mentioned flannel p.j.s. Next line, "would you mind getting them for me? I'll pay you." I say, Gee dad, I just FINISHED MY shopping!!
Then I ask - I suppose you want me to wrap them too?
He just smiles.
So last night, I did ALL my wrapping. I'm done. And today, I get to go shopping on my lunch hour. Yup, I'm the full time worker with two kids and hosting Christmas. He's the retired 75 year old with NOTHING to do. Hmmm...Yeah, I should do your shopping. :rolleyes1
Oh well, as it turns out, I need about three things from the grocery store. I'm hoping they have them at Target, so I can get it all in one trip.
I'm also going to race to the P.O. since I got my friend's package all boxed up. It still won't get there until after Christmas, but it will be out of my house.

I think my lunch hour might be a little long today!
Hope you get it all done!

Morning Snowbirds,

Just wanted to pop in and say "HI" before I run to Kroger's...I ran out of baking supplies last night.

Be back in a bit.

So Exciting!!!!! You must be going out of your mind! :crowded: :bored:

I do feel like I am going out of my mind here! :upsidedow I'll be glad when Christmas is here and I can finally get some sleep! Of course then I'll just be up all night obsessing about the trip instead of the surprise! :rotfl:

My ticker is at 1 month too!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!

Who's up for a "Snowy Day My Ticker Is Finally At ONE Month" party with me?
...oh wait I don't have any snow. Could you sweet Snowbirdies up north of me quit hogging all the snow and send some down to me. All I got is ice and some very cold rain.
Well I'll still party about my ticker just without the snow I guess. :sad2:

I'm up to partying!  AND...I'm with you...I'll take the snow ANY DAY over this nasty Ice/Slush/Sleet crud we're getting!!

BTW....

I'm not sure if I will be around much today. I am moving into my new 'pimped-out' (for lack of a better term) desk. We will be moving my computer and everything else.

I have visions of bright pink!!! :rotfl:

I'm back from DD's school. They had four "centers" with different activities at each one. They only got to do 2 before it was concert time. They were so cute up there on stage! Then, it was back to the classroom to finish their centers. It was a lot of fun, but a lot of work. It's tricky helping 6 year olds wrap handmade gifts! Yup, that was my center. Gift wrapping! It's nice to be home right now though. I'm so tired!

We're scheduled to get some relief from the cold tomorrow and on Christmas. Tomorrow, it's supposed to be 44 degress! Heat wave! :rotfl: Then on Christmas, it's supposed to be in the mid to high 30's. I'll take it! It's been in the teens the past few days.

Good luck at the store. I need to go too but I am really dreading how crowded it is going to be. :scared:

I went out this morning and it was already getting busy at Wal-Mart...its like a zoo out there. So if you head out be safe and bundle up!!

:santa: :santa:

I take it that you wait until Christmas morning to unwrap presents? I know some families who do it on Christmas Eve; always wondered how they dealt with the Santa question, though!

And for those of you worried about the stomach bug, a poster on another thread posted this link:http://www.cloroxprofessional.com/products/germicidal.shtml

These wipes are bleach based, and should be effective against the noroviruses. Easier to take than a spray bottle of anything! I bought 2 containers from Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Clorox-Germic...e=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1230057350&sr=8-25) since the anti-germicidal ones aren't available locally; now I just have to hope they show up before we leave on the 3rd! Those of you who leave later in the month should be able to get them without difficulty.

I just ordered one set, but then again its just me going!! I should have mine in plenty of time...I hope you get yours in time!!

Gosh, that IS a good question. My DH's family does Christmas Eve gift opening but he's never once mentioned Santa in the 10 years I've known him. His family is the very definition of practical and no-nonsense. (Whereas I come from a family of tightwad New Englanders. It's an amusing combo, at times!)

I'll have to ask him later, for my own curiosity.

Our weather is looking terrible tomorrow, still. So glad I'm not traveling further than the 5 miles to work. Probably taking the bus, anyway - let the pros drive! But it'll be nice to get home and bunker down and stay warm! (I did almost want to people watch at the mall, though...!)

I think some families open gifts on Christmas Eve, but Santa still comes on Christmas morning.

When I was growing up, we went to my Grandparent's on Christmas Eve. We got to open gifts from our aunts, uncles and Gparents. On Christmas morning we first looked to see what Santa got us. (They were always the fun gifts.:lmao: ) Then we would open the gifts from mom and dad, which were usually clothes and such.

We were a little spoiled and also got to do gifts for the 12 days of Christmas. Each day we would get to open a tiny gift. (A book, coloring book, candy, ect.)

Yes, we open presents on Christmas morning. The kids exchange the gifts they got each other on Christmas Eve, but everything else in on Christmas morning! :santa:

Thanks for the info on the wipes with bleach!

Well, just to report - the p.o. was not too bad. It's a tiny little office, and they had two windows going. I had to wait for 3 people in front of me and it was about 10 minutes. There were at least 3 more people in line behind me.

Target was another story - super busy!! Luckily they had enough lanes open. So it went quickly. They also had all the things I needed, so I didn't have to go to the grocery store - I drove past it, and WHOOOWEEE! Did it look jammed!!
I'm so done!! Have to work a bit more and then I am off until Monday!! :cool1:
I'm getting so excited for Christmas, everyone's surprises, people going to WDW - IT'S CRAZY!!

:woohoo: :hyper:

I made it there and back and it actually wasn't that bad. They had all the registers open! The parking lot was the worst though.

This will sound dumb, but did your 12 days start before Christmas or on Christmas?

Update -
I just called to make some more ADRs (sorry Shelly) just to see if I could get anything.
I was able to get Crystal Palace breakfast for 8:20 on 1/27 (our first full day) and 1900 Park Fare dinner at 6:15 on 1/30.
Nothing available for CRT on the two days I asked about, but that's okay. I thought it might be cool to eat in the castle, but I'll save that for next time!!

We open presents on Christmas Eve (which I don't like)...*yay I get to open presents tomorrow*. Santa always comes while we are at Church. :santa:

So yeah the snow this morning just made one big mess. Apparently the plows have decided to start vacation early and did NOTHING. I slid the whole way home from work.:headache: However, I'm home now and I'm staying inside for the night! I have to make some muffins for work tomorrow. We are all bringing a little something in, so I thought muffins would be a nice change from the traditional brownies.

Well I guess these muffins won't make themselves...:rolleyes1

Oh Soleil, the report for the 7th had better be a good one! If it's not...would you lie and just tell me it is, because right now I think that's the last thing I have to hold on to!:flower3:
