Well the kids got home about an hour ago and are now off until January 5th!

I am beyond excited that Christmas is in 2 days and they will finally know about the trip and I can start getting things ready and packing!! :cool1:

I'm so excited for Christmas vacation too Shelly! My DD goes back to school on the 5th as well. Lots of time to play with new toys and time to go out and play in all of our snow! I have 32 days until my trip!!! I can't wait to tell my little princess!

12 days before.:goodvibes
guess I can't do that this year. Would have been a fun idea - all Disney stuff!

My kids have been off since Friday - two full weeks. Of course, they'll be at daycare 1/2 the time since I'm working. Hopefully I'll be heading home soon.

Shelly - I'm so excited for you and the boys!! I think I'm almost more excited for your surprise than for my kids and their gifts (which I know they'll love!). I told Dd7 about your box and she thought that was cool!!

My ticker is at 1 month too!!!!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!

Who's up for a "Snowy Day My Ticker Is Finally At ONE Month" party with me?
...oh wait I don't have any snow. Could you sweet Snowbirdies up north of me quit hogging all the snow and send some down to me. All I got is ice and some very cold rain.
Well I'll still party about my ticker just without the snow I guess. :sad2:

I'll join you - mine is at one month, too -- woo hoo!!!!

   :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:   :cool1: :cool1:

And I'll second that about the snow - we're getting nice cold rain, just above freezing...but it is much better than the ice and sleet others are getting so I will not complain much

Really? I'd always been told (no, not in Hebrew school :lmao:) that the 12 days of Christmas related to the period between Christ's birth and the arrival of the Three Kings (the Epiphany on Jan. 5). Is that not correct?

Oh, and I'm at 11 days!!! :cool1::cool1::banana::banana:

I believe it is, but I'm sure my mom did not think about that. She probably did it as a way to keep us from sneaking around the Christmas tree too much.;)

That's what I thought, and why I asked. Maybe I still have a shot! Of course, that would involve more shopping! I'm not sure if that's good or bad! LOL I do have a stash of little things. Hmmm...more to ponder.

:confused3 I am so computer idiotified it's not funny!!!

That being said I do read all the posts and to everyone who has responded to me, I promised I don't "not answer" on purpose. I can't imagine what my trip report will look like:rotfl: :rolleyes1

Any who, today will have been an AK day morning EMH and breakfast ressies at Donald's Tusker house.

2 more days til Christmas and 3 days til we leave.

We're at ONE MONTH, too (at least one month until we start the much dreaded drive {dreaded by me, excitement for hubby}) and one month and one day until we arrive!!! WOOOHOOOOOOO!!!

It is terribly cold here, but no snow...LOTS of rain though. The news is talking about thunderstorms even. Some icy spots on the road, but nothing terrible. I have been to Walmart more times this week than I have in the past month. Twice today, and hubby's going to a different one tonight. We decided at the last minute that we'd planned to get the kids bean bag chairs and when I went to pick them up, there was only one left, checked another one on my way home (very busy) and they had NONE! I can't give just one because it will be constant WAR, so if we can't get another one tonight, I guess I'll be at there again tomorrow returning it! UGH!!

Tomorrow is not only Christmas Eve, it is the day I will be at the one month mark! Oh my goodness! I'm very excited, but I still can't believe that we're actually going. It just doesn't feel real. It feels like a dream! :yay: We just watched the Samantha Brown Christmas special. Last time, I watched it alone so I had to share the magic with the fam! They loved it! If I only I could hug my little DD and tell her that we're going in 32 days!

That's so much like us! We have our ticker set to the day we get there because I think driving doesn't count. DH thinks if you leave home, you're on vacation. And he loves to drive. But our drive will take us three days and that's NO vacation!!! SO that's why I am not at one month yet. In reality, we leave one month from today!! Please, let's all pray we have good driving weather!!!

Well my fine feathered friends. I'm off to bed now. Everyone have a wonderful night.

If you are otherwise occupied in the coming days:
Be safe, Be happy, Be healthy, Be warm (:rolleyes1 ). May you enjoy this time with your families and cherish the memories that are created this Holiday season.

The grocery store was fine here...in and out in 30 minutes. I finished my baking for today...I just have to bake some dough that I froze from Friday.

We are heading to Walmart tomorrow morning...my Mom needs 2 new front tires before the drive to Tennessee Friday. Hopefully it will be a quick trip.

Good morning, everyone! Can't believe it's been 7 hours since the last post - what, do you all have lives or something?!

Our weather got better than predicted, sort of. We got 5" yesterday instead of 2, but we got less sleet and freezing rain, and now we're switching over to just rain for the day. This means, of course, that I get to go to work. Oh well.

I hope everyone has a great holiday!

Merry Christmas Eve to all who celebrate! :santa:

I've been so busy I've not had the chance to check in. I've not even taken the time to take the links from our countdown chain in several days. It looks so short now compared to when we started, as it stretched floor to ceiling and around the entire room.

12 Days and counting!

I have 5 work days before our departure! Whoot! Whoot!

Hope you all have a safe and relaxing holiday. I'll check back in after the holiday!

Good Morning Snowbirds!:goodvibes

I wish everyone a happy and safe Holiday Season. I would also like to wish all Snowbirds that are leaving soon a great vacation!party: .

My DH woke me up at 5:30am:crazy2: to go help him shovel our driveway and to shovel out our vehicle from being stuck on the street. Our nice city workers went down the opposite lane of our street and left 3ft of snow piled up in front of our house.:faint: It is the nice heavy wet snow too. Lucky us! Anyhow 1 and half hours later our driveway is clear and our vehicle is safely in it and not stuck on the street. DH took over an hour to come home and his job is usually only a 15 minute drive home. He was stuck in several places on several streets due to spotty plowing or lack thereof. Anyway he is now safely home.

I am going to try walking to work that usually takes only 15 minutes but in all of this snow I am leaving an hour early just to make certain I make it there. DH and children are staying home, safe and warm. Thank goodness.

It is supposedly going to change to rain, or sleet for the afternoon. I will bring an umbrella and see what type of mess I am going to get into. It may be worth it to try to convince the pharmacist to let me go home early, if not I will call a taxi. Tonight we were to go to my parents only 6 blocks away but if the weather is really bad and the streets not plowed we may skip it. I don't want to, but I am an only child so it isn't as if it cannot be changed as it was only snacks and presents, no big meal to go to waste. Oh how I can't wait to say good bye to this weather.:beach: I would like some of that ""Brilliant Sunshine". I love those weather reports!

I too like thinking about what I would be doing at Disney in a month. There are many new things that we will be trying so I can't even imagine what it will be like other than great!:woohoo: I think we are looking forward to the fireworks, our favorite rides and the warmth of the sun on our faces. I think the last one is the one I am looking forward to the most. I know the children are looking forward to meeting all their favorite characters.

It is really close for some of our Snowbirds. Please report back here on all of your experiences. I am looking forward to reading about your adventures.popcorn::

Finally we are at 1 month!:cool1: :cheer2:

I am really jealous of some of the Snowbirds whose tickers are now counting in days!

I hope all our time until Disney goes by quite quickly and in a good and safe way but while in Disney the time stops and it feels almost like forever.
