Hey neighbor! We have frozen pipes too! This is miserable. Do you have the taps opened a little so they don't burst? (I learned that the hard way).
:scared1:

Whoops, I do now!

My cold water pipes are working again but the hot water takes a little while....

January 5[/B]
Day: High of 77, Brilliant Sunshine (Yes, this is really what it says.)
Night: Low of 57, Clear

:rotfl: That just really made me laugh! A "brilliant sunshine" as compared to what...a dull sunshine!?!? Oh man...:rotfl:

Well good afternoon. It's insane out there today. My work was so busy today. I also found myself getting really light-headed. So I downed a bunch of water (which I always drink water) and my boss bought me a candy bar and I'm doing a little better. So the unanimous decision is that I have low blood sugar.....thank the good Lord we made Christmas cookies over the weekend...right ;)

As for what to pack concerning "drugs". The only thing we really take is ibuprofen/aspirin and some Excedrin. I may take a small travel bottle of hand sanitizer, but I probably won't use it. In my house we live on Vitamins daily. I haven't been "sick" *knock on wood* for quite some time.

Well I'm off to take care of things in my 2009 calendar.

Ok, I need some major pixie dust thrown my way. You know what; how about just throw it on me. Last night we want out to dinner and came home to watch the EAGLES game on DVR. Around 10pm we hear this loud noise that came from outside. DS basketball hoop fell on top of my car. The wind here was unreal. Very strong. We did not hear it down stairs in the house, and it was not like that when we came home from dinner. So I left work early today to get a price on how much it would cost to fix it. $655.95 :scared1:
DH was already upset enough about the car and NOW....
I get home and go to let the dogs out, and my one dog nailed her way through the dry wall in the laundry room to the computer room. I just got done cleaning up all the mess from it. We know have a huge hole in the wall. Not a very magical day for me.

Good morning Snowbirds.

We had a 2 hour delay today. Not for snow or freezing rain, for the cold! :cold: It is now 3 degrees out! Wind chill of -12. And it is considerably warmer than it was 2 hours ago when they would have left for school. The wind was awful through the night. I'm just thankful we still have power.
Wow, we had high wind also, but no delay. It is still windy.
Snowbirds leaving over the next week ~

Have a safe and wonderful trip

Ok, I like this much better. I like the brillant sunshine.

Yeah, that's not the first thread I have read about it. I plan to clean the room as soon as we get there, but apparently that is not doing any good. :confused3
No,:scared1: I already had my clorax wipes and travel lysol packed.

Count me in as a frozen bird!! When I got up this am the actual temp was -15 I didn't even want to know what the wind chill was. We also had a 2 hour delay do to the cold. We aren't supposed to get above 0 till Wed with up to 6 more inches of snow.:cold: :cold: :cold: :cold:

On the bright side my coffeehouse is full. All my construction guys are back in drinking coffee, & hot chocolate & playing pinball. So at least I'm making $$$ today. I didn't even open yesterday we had 40 mile an hour winds. NO way I was driving in that.
:thumbsup2 could you send me something warm.

I am totally fuming right now because Expedia changed our flights again! They changed them from us arriving at 11 am to arriving at 11 pm, therefore shaving a day off of our vacation. Of course, I can't get through to Expedia right now because of the holidays.
OMG I would be so pissed off. I hope they do something about it for you.

HELLO :badpc:  ! You know I'm saying hello to YOU!

(Sorry for the interruption Snowbirds...I'm just taunting :stir: my sister who is a lurking Snowbird but doesn't post. Perhaps if I bug her enough she'll say hello.:chat::rolleyes1 )
:thumbsup2 :woohoo: :rotfl2: FUNNY!
ok you lurker we know you are here show your face.

Eeeeek!! 5 sleeps until we fly to the USA!!!

I'm hoping for snow in New York, and sunshine in Florida!! :yay:

All this talk about changes in flights had me concerned. Our online tickets were available to download 25 days out.
So I go check my confirmation number etc etc. Guess what happenes- I can't find the email!:scared1: NO where, look in each email address we have. I check my Disney folder, everywhere- cannot find- I don't even remember when i bought them but i know i paid for them.

So I call DH in a panic, it's been along time since I have been this panicked.
he tells me to call the online agent we dealt with. So I go ahead and call them- I am sure this has happened before - right:confused3 . So i get through to e-commerce and ask if they can resend the email. At that time, DH has already called and they have my request. I am sure I sounded hysterical to the agent! He tells me where he sent the email and that I should see it in 24 hours.

I then return to the email only to find the original starring at me plain as day! :headache: How did I miss that????:confused3

So I go to check the flight times- they are earlier?? So we leave at 6:20 am and arrive 9:15am ! That gives me at least a half day at the park.... now more panic... room wont be ready, so we leave our stuff at the front desk? Do I need a lunch ADR???? :confused3

Unbelievable. I know Soleil got bad news about her flight :sad2: So I wanted to share my story and hope for some pixie dust for her! pixiedust:

Aww... sounds like something I would do... which is why I starred my Airline Confirmation e-mails in my Gmail account. They're the only things starred. Of course the info on them isn't accurate since our flight times have changed a bit, but the confirmation numbers are the same.

Delta changed my flight back to the original time. This is the 2nd time this has happened. I will not be using Expedia again. It is such a pain dealing with this!

I'm so glad that everything worked out. It will be so cute to hear them talk about Disney together.:cutie:

We are arriving early, too. You can certainly check your bags and sign in. Then just head back to the room later in the afternoon. They will give you your key ahead of time. As far as an ADR.... that's up to you.:goodvibes

I refuse to use Expedia again after the trouble I had with them on our trips to and from New York on our way to and back from Prague. Part of the problem was that I didn't pay close enough attention when I booked the tickets, and should have booked both sets of tickets through the same reservation, but when I called, they were not very helpful. It was frustrating!

By the way... I'm having serious typing problems.... I keep typing words that have absolutely nothing to do with the word I meant to type except the first letter.
Just now I typed "park" instead of "Prague" and earlier I typed "year" instead of "here" .... that one doesn't even start with the same letter, it just rhymes. So if you find some words that make no sense... that's why!

Pamouselover: I'm so sorry about the trouble you've been having. Stuff like that is never fun.

Oh my that is terrible. I forget what part of PA you are in but we had awful winds last night. I really thought we were going to lose our power and freeze. The wind chill was so low this morning and that's why we had the 2 hour school delay. Sorry about your car!

We will have spent the day at Epcot......Right now we wold be leaving the Candle Light Processional (after dining at Le Cellier) and getting ready to do some EMH:cool1:

:lmao: PAMOUSELOVER....I kinda thought that was the case;)

3 more days til CHRISTMAS.....and 4 more nighty nights til we are Florida bound !!!!!!:hourglass party: party:

Does anyone know if wet wipes are included in liquids for airplanes?

I would assume that since they're not concentrated liquids, they wouldn't, but it would be nice to know, since I don't like putting any liquid related items in my checked baggage, because I don't want anything to explode.

I just wanted to say thanks to Soleil for the weather reports - it's fun to "count down" with the weather. Plus, even if it says rain, our report will always have the "sun" :sunny: (that's what soleil means in French, for those who may have taken Spanish in school :lmao: )

So "Merci":worship:

So sorry about all the weather-related troubles out there. Today I had a team holiday lunch, and three of us went in my car. The back doors were frozen shut with ice from the ice storm yesterday, so one of my co-workers climbed over the seat and took it upon herself to strong-arm the door open from the inside (without asking me). So, it opened, but then wouldn't close!!:scared1:

We finally got the lock to hold it closed, but not tight. The air was coming in the whole way home and it was COLD :cold:

I'm thinking of getting a new/used car and this may have clinched it. This one is pretty old so I don't know if it is worth it to fix it.

We are freezing in PA!!!!

Oh I forgot to comment on the weather report.
Brilliant Sunshine is exactly what I would expect on my first day at the World and the day I meet Soleil!

We made some tonight! These are so simple - DD loved making them. And they are so tasty!
We made a bunch and placed them in a decorated jar and now it's a great gift! So we'll be making 2 more trays tomorrow.
Thank you for sharing this recipe - I can see these being a family tradition.

Good Evening Snowbirds.

First some pixie dust for all those that are in need of it. pixiedust: I hope all goes well for everyone.:flower3:

I work in a grocery store and it was slammed today. They were lined up all the way to the back of the store (and it is a pretty big store) at times. I don't think the upcoming snow storms are helping the situation. I work in the Pharmacy and it was steady today for us. I cannot believe all the people who leave their medications until the last possible moment to order then expect them quickly. Especially the real snow birds who leave for up to 6 months and expect us to have it all in stock!!:rolleyes2 Anyway, the others who leave it until they are out, and are going on vacation, expect us to refill it for them even if there are no refills.:headache: In our city about half the doctors (we are under serviced for doctors) go on vacation at this time and it makes it quite difficult for these last minute people. I cannot believe when you must take this medication daily that you don't realize until you are out that they order then. Most drug plans pay for one week out or more and that way if you give time, they will have it in stock or contact the doctor for refills and you can go pick it up without waiting. Sorry for raving, I will step off my soap box now. It is really difficult to keep customers happy when there is little you can do and it truly isn't your fault.

I have had to add one ADR. My MIL is now coming for one night and I think we convinced her to stay at the POP with us. :goodvibes She has always wanted to try Spoodles so we are going there for her (not like we didn't want to go but it wasn't on our list this time). I phoned on Sunday for the ADR and asked about the other restaurants that were not yet on the list. She stated they updated the list on Saturday. I looked again but didn't see the Yak and Yeti so I don't know how much was update or if none was updated. http://adisneyworld.disney.go.com/m...especific/eng/nontheme/tickets/2009Dining.pdf

Please wish me luck tomorrow with the crowds and customers and the snowstorm that is to dump over a foot of snow. I truly believe it can stop snowing now. It is pretty with all the Christmas lights on but this is becoming a bit too much.

Remmy

My little weather thingy on my computer is telling me that it's snowing this morning. I can't bring myself to actually look outside yet...

Everyone have a great day. Stay warm.

Good morning Snowbirds! We're having a heat wave - it's 15 with windchills in the single digets!! Much better than the 1 degree we had yesterday with negative windchills!! We're under a winter weather advisory for ice this afternoon! Bring on the warm Florida sunshine!!!
