I got one at Bed, Bath & Beyond or Walmart when I started school. It didn't hold up to my exponential loads of laundry though. I think it broke after the first semester.

That's why we try to get them from the dollar store...though the one in my bedroom now is from Target and it's holding up really well.

Packing Already?????

You guys are waaaayyyyyy too organised for me, but then again, we'll be taking much of the clothing we're still wearing ATM plus some warmer jackets and pants for the evening. (Not to forget the thermal underwear for our 'hopefully' white christmas in NC). I'll probably pack about 3 days before we leave, then the next day I'll take out a 1/3 to leave plenty of space for souveniers and wdw shopping! Lucky for us on the way back we don't have any baggage charges, and because we're flying internationally we're even allowed 2 cases per person. DH is a little wary that I know this, but we'll struggle to fill one bag each so no hope of filling 2 each. Maybe one extra bag between all of us on the way home - 2/3 full of Disney scapbooking stuff for me and my DDs I think ;).

So.. I was doing a little more research on my Disney paper... trying to find an actual news bulletin about the "Celebrations" celebration, and I came across this:
http://jimhillmedia.com/blogs/jim_h...ief-can-inspire-some-consumer-confidence.aspx

I'm not sure how legitimate it is... but it was an interesting read nonetheless. Basically this guy is saying that Disney will wait until after the election to choose a game plan...

PoP up Laundry Hamper...I'm thinking this might become handy...may I ask where you can find one of those??
Walmart, they are all I use at home now. Our house has a laundry shoot, I hate it.
Wait... do you have to pay the higher price? No the price want down a $130.oo in total for the four of us. I am going to ask when I call, but I have been to
We've eaten at Pizza Planet every time we've gone since it opened. The first time it was novel, but the second time it was because my little brother has been going through an only eating pizza phase for the past 4 or 5 years. We hit a pizza place at every park... it was slightly frustrating, but he's the baby so what can you do? Also, MGM CS is not very appealing anyways...

No, that sure is a park that is missing a good CS.

Interesting concept. I love how this is research for school!!! I might have done a lot better in college! JK:rotfl2:

:rotfl2:
But I feel really bad about leaving them. Now I know why we haven't done this for 5 1/2 years!!

Shelly! You should never feel guilty about leaving your children - especially if it is for a romantic getwawy with your husband! Remember, those boys are going to grow up and leave home some day but you and your hubby will be together for THE REST OF YOUR LIFE! I definitely think that your marriage deserves a little attention once in a while! :) When we did our premarital counselling, our pastor told us that we need to spend time with each other .....

DAILY - talk about your days and how you feel etc
WEEKLY - get out of the house together without kids (even just to go for a walk and talk while holding hands)
YEARLY - take a night or weekend to get as far as possible away from your house and children! Relax, unwind and recreate together, Ideally sometime near your wedding anniversary, but anytime is fine!

Your marriage will bloom and flourish and your sons will be better men because of your example! :)

I don't know about that... I think it's actually distracting me more, because I'd much rather spend hours researching Disney than studying for my Criminal Justice Systems test or writing my paper over Social Interaction concepts, and those are the classes that could use a little boost in the grade.

I got my degree in Interior Design. So I had this disney twist on pretty much all my projects! It was great. However it just made me find more stuff that I would want for my house some day!

I could help you with Criminal Justice system. I work in it. :) That's my warped idea of fun stuff! ;)

Hubby is big on traditions, so our trips have so many:
AK-go to Dinoland first. Get pic sitting on the AK sign on the way out.
MK-ROPE DROP, pic sitting on the wall waiting. Head to Space Mountain then Teacups, lunch as Cosmic Rays (hubbys dad used to take them there when they were kids-dad died when hubby was 17). Keaton got his first haircut there last year, so the Barber shop will be a new tradition.
EPCOT-run to the fountains first. Watch, listen, photo op. Dinner at Biergarten (hubbys family is from Austria-hubby got to visit there a few months ago and met long lost family so this trip it will be even more meaningful). Watching Illuminations outside Biergarten in "our spot."
Dinner at Ohana's, Breakfast at AK. Like I said, SO many traditions. Pretty soon I won't have to plan any part of our trips because it will be a habit!!
HS-enjoying the streetmosphere.

The one way were mixing things up this year is we're DRIVING instead of flying to try to save money. Not worried about the ride there, just the drive back. UGH!!!

I have a question.

I know this thread has been pretty much politics free, but does anyone have a website that just clearly states, this person believes this...this one believes this. That's all I'm looking. I figure I should figure out who I want to vote for before I go tomorrow :confused3 :rotfl: .

I also work in the sick Correctional Field as does most of my family.

Jenjolt and backinoz..I am a former SU demonstrator who LOVES to make cards. I make approx. 85 xmas cards. I also make custom wedding invitations for :bride: I'm on my 24th wedding.

I went to WDW on Dec 5, 2007. I loved the decorations and my FAVORITE picture is the castle with the iceicle lights. However, I might be odd..I prefer seeing the xmas decorations with real snow. Being from Wisconsin, every house on the street is covered with xmas decorations and then the snow reflects the lights. So, I'm sorry to say that I felt it odd to be in WDW in December. :rolleyes1

We just got done watching Finding Nemo here at our house. Just sent the kids off to bed..and now DH has football on....

I really need to find out how to multi-quote and also get some pictures on photobucket so I can post them here.

Has anyone tried to set up a meeting for the Snowbirds while we are in WDW? I would love to meet up with some people even if it was just for a Dolewhip!:yay:

Tried to sleep and just can't seem to get there LOL
I live in Florida and feel the exact same way as you do!! After 3 years in Alaska and seeing decorations in snow moving to FLorida was a huge culture shock for me. Seeing inflatables and Christmas lights on houses in 70 degree weather just makes it seem like the person forgot to take down the decorations in June LOL!! Suffice to say we don't do Christmas lights at our house, although I do put up a wreath. Now the inside of my house is a whole other story LOL...I go Christmas crazy and do a real tree and all that, but not the outdoors LOL

However, I mentioned my adversion to decorating my house in the deep South to my students and now I have this huge fear come Christmas Morning my yard is going to look like Christmas threw up on it...I wouldn't put it pass my students. LOL!! I guess its better than TPing my house LOL!!

What can I say? :confused3 I love the older men! DH is 13 years older than me. He graduated from high school the year I graduated from kindergarten.:rotfl:

My hubby is 8 years older than me- he graduated when I was in the 4th grade--people still make comments ---even after all this time!!
Happy November Snowbirds!
I can't believe we are only 2 months till January! :cool1:
I hope everyone had a safe and fun Halloween!!! All the snowbird kiddie pictures are just to cute!

Just thought I'd stop by to say high on my way to check out any word on PPP dates yet!

I just read the book, Twilight, and am now going to hole myself up and start part 2. It is the most amazing book I have ever read I think! (this coming from the girl who refused to read it for years because I though vampires are wierd!) If anyone is interested in a really wonderful and moving love story, or a thriller, go check this book out. It's listed as a teen book, but I just don't understand how someone in their teens can cope with some of the issues it brings up. No raunchy scenes or anything, it's just a some heavy moral topics, its a very mature book I think.

Have a great saturday afternoon snowbirds!

oh, and to jump in on yesturdays QOTD, everyone KNOWS Prince Eric is the hottest disney guy out there! :lovestruc I mean come on, a kingdom on the water, that flowing black hair, the tight breeches and poets shirt he always wears....it's like he stepped right off the cover of a romance novel!

I have to agree!! But, for non-cartoon men---I do looooove Johnny Depp!! He's soooooo hunky with that pirate attire and eye-liner!!!

Shelly-congrats on that pink camera!!!!I was the only girl here until dd was born--I feel for you!!! But---my boys do love their mamma!!!!!

Sorry to all the people who lost their dogs recently--that must be hard.

Loved all your Halloween pictures!!!

We got our Christmas ornaments today!!!! And I got my wrapping paper!! YEAH:santa: :cheer2: Now I can wrap all the goodies I have stashed away! My 9 year old asked me if I could go ahead and decorate this weekend for Christmas! Mike said, you won't get a complaint outta me!! It's his favorite thing. So, whoever mentioned decorating early a few pages back---let's do it!! I have an artificial pre-lit tree---so I am ready!!!!

Would ya'll believe it took me 2 hours to read all this!! I had to catch up from page 30-something!!!! Well, time for bed now!!!!!

Well, DH is falling asleep on and off watching football (he loves the Steelers) and I am getting a low battery signal on the laptop. Must be bedtime! :)

Hope everyone has/had a good night. Let's hope tomorrow brings us some exciting news! (No, not the election, the CODES!!!)

Good night everybody!

Just want to pop in and say hi! And, whatever you have planned for tomorrow, please make sure to VOTE!!!!

DHS that is...

We'll have 10 day passes so inevitably we'll end up in DHS for lunch more than once, and from what I can see Pizza Planet is the only option that appeals to us (especially with DD11 being lactose intollerant).

So for the Disney Resort Illiterate (we only ever saw the comtemporary and ASMo where we stayed last time back in 2001), is there a close by resort(?) cs anyone would reccommend visiting for lunch and a look around, or are we better off heading to Epcot for a stroll around WS for lunch, or even head to DTD???
