According to the FL resident part of the WDW website... you must provide any one of the following: Florida driver's license, Florida state-issued ID card (must have Florida address), Florida voter's registration card with corresponding picture ID, a college ID for a Florida college, or a Florida-based military ID.

If you have a FL address you could apply for a Florida-state Issued ID Card.

Thanks!
I guess I won't get it this time since I don't have a photo id, but next time I'm staying at the house I am totally going to look into a FL ID card!

I wonder if you can get the florida discount just by owning property in Fl?

We have a house in St Pete, so if my mom puts my name on a bill to prove residency, do you think that will count?

I've gone 'round and 'round about this too, as we own a house near Ft Walton Beach. A bill wouldn't work, but...I still have a valid FL driver's license (valid until my next birthday, which happens to be the day we will be leaving WDW). I should have gotten a VA license by now but just haven't gotten around to it. :rolleyes1 However, I think I would feel too dishonest since legally I'm a VA resident. Those FL resident seasonal annual passes sure are cheap, though...

ETA: Jessica, not saying I think you would be dishonest for doing it--our house is rented out long-term, we never stay there, and I haven't even been to FL in over 4 years--so it's a different situation. If I were you I'd check out the FL ID card!

I know you guys talked about this earlier, but it has been in the back of brain lately. I was thinking about getting the kids gift cards to use down there. Last year they had their $ to spend. But what we ended up doing was saving their cash to use for the drive back & charging their stuff to our room. I just tried to keep a running total in my head how much each had spent & when they hit there limit. But I was thinking that maybe this year I would get them each a card with $$$ on it from Santa & then right before we leave take their allowence $$ and put it on seperate cards. So my ?? is can it be any gift card or does it have to be bought from Disney? They would only use it to buy souvies etc no neccessaties.

I was asking this yesturday and it seems that any disney gift card (from the stores or WDW) will work!

I was also thinking about getting one of those Visa Gift Cards, this way I won't have to really carry cash and I can use it at the airports, and if I have money left I won't be stuck with Disney Dollars! I'll be able to use it at at the few places that don't take disney cards too!

Welcome!!! I hope you get some fabulous sunny weather in FL!!

Thank you! I think that whatever the weather is by Florida standards, it will be immensely better than what we have here at that time (start by thinking very dim daylight for max 4 hours/day...).

We're all really looking forward to the trip. DH has been wise and has let me do the planning, reservations etc. I've shown the girls some photos of the parks and hotels, they are quite interested but I don't think they really understand how it will be (it's their first trip to the USA). I'm dreading the long flight a bit, but last winter we flew to the Canary islands and they managed the 6.5 h flight very well, so I'm hoping this will go fairly well also.

I bet they would have too many people calling Grandma and Auntie to put their name on a bill or something just so they get the deal! But those prices are so enticing! The DVC deal is great too!

That's what I think too I may just get a generic visa gift card so that if they don't use it up then they can use it at home. I know you can get them at Walmart etc but is there any hidden fees on them somewhere? Does it cost to fill them? Have never done them so I am clueless on this.

I buy all of my disney gift cards from disneyshopping.com!!

I've bought them from the bank and there is no charge. Back in my cashier days I do recall one problem though. If you use a store gift card and say you have 4.55 left and you need $6, they can take the 4.55 off the card and then you pay the difference. I found with the visa gift cards, if there wasn't enough to cover the entire purchase, it would decline it, like a CC. Now to get around that you have to say to the cashier please charge 4.55 and I'll pay cash for the difference. That means you have to keep on top of the balance, and get a cashier who knows what they're doing and how to do that.
Now this was 2 years ago so hopefully they fixed that issue.

You and me both, sister! But I keep telling myself that no discount will save me as much as I saved by renting DVC...$1725!!!

Yeah I just had to go a figure out a comparison. Even with free dinning I'll be coming out ahead unless I switched to POP, but I decided I wanted to treat myself to a deluxe resort and I'm going to stick to my guns!

No jersey was hit too! Glad it stayed away from Delaware County!
Your poor flowers, they look they were still hanging in there.

I don't think I ever recall snow in October...this is what my hubby did yesterday.

Hey I don't think we have a QOTD so I'll post one!

QOTD: What's your favorite photo op spot at WDW? If this will be your first trip, where are you most looking forward to taking a picture?
I love the snow white wishing well on one of the castle side paths. It's pretty out of the way so usually quite, but the shot is beautiful with the well and garden and the castle in the back.
I love the castle of course! I also try and take pics of us in the same spot evey year.

I am sooooooooooo mad right now.... JET BLUE just once again cancelled our flight.............. I moved to the day before so we could take a direct flight and now they have cancelled that (was at 4:30 pm) and now it is at 6 am
which still makes it so I have to be at the airport at 4:30 am

Okay, I've been away from the boards for awhile, but now that Halloween is almost upon us I'm on CODE WATCH! I'm not an AP or Visa holder so I'm just hoping for a General discount...fingers crossed...:thumbsup2

Either way, my trip is getting so close I can TASTE it!

My only dilemma right now is that I snoozed on booking a Fantasmic DP and none were available last time I called. I'm going to start calling again and see if I can't catch a break! I've never seen Fantasmic in my 4 visits, but of course now that they're down to 2 shows a week I don't want to have to stand in line forever if I can help it.

Other than that I have a great park plan and all ADR's in place. So I'm just cooling my heels...

This early cold is scaring me a bit! Here's hoping for a warm, sunny January in FL!!

Good for you!! But you totally deserve it! Graduating from college is a huge deal and should be celebrated as such. My gift from my parents was a trip to Disney and I loved it!! CONGRATS to you!! And make sure you spoil yourself SILLY!!

I'm sorry! I know Jetblue has not been so great lately! They keep moving my flight around too! I hope you catch a break and they plan another later flight!

Hehe, I intend to! Which is how I'm justifying the $200 for the backstage magic tour!!! Now if only I had the time for a spa day....

I already have one spa treatment made however with my huge savings today I'm thinking of getting another one, but we'll see!!! I might just settle for having just the great savings instead of spending anymore LOL!!

Only one more gift card and my trip is paid for YAY!!! Just going to get one to cover the cost of the hotel and I'm all set! I have one for food, one for souvenirs, one for any extras that might come up, and the one for the resort YAY!!
