QOTD: What is your favourite thing to do on your LAST night in Disney? (I know that we don't really want our vacations to end but it is a good question!)

On the last evening we usually end up at DTD using up all of our snack credits from the DDP that we did not use through the week!! :goodvibes

What... big hair is out..... when did that happen:confused3

:rotfl2:

I can't wait for the time to change. I hate getting the kids up and taking them to school in the dark. They start at 7:30 and really have to be at school around 7:15.

Me too! I am so tired of standing at the bus stop in the dark. :sad2: I thought my kids were the only ones that went to school so dang early. It stinks! It's nice when they are done early though!

Hi Everyone, after my daily ritual of checking in, I discovered this thread and discovered we are not on it:laughing:. I was surprised since I missed it or overlooked it. Oh yeah, I know, the title "snowbirds" threw me, since that typically refers to retired people, and well, I am not retired yet, but close:lmao: ,

Anyhow, our trip dates: Jan. 22-27, consisting of 1 Adult, 1 tween and 1 teen and the plan is to stay at the new club rooms at CSR:banana:
Our ADRS:
1/22 Teppan Edo 8:30 (late arrival)
1/23 Crystal Palace 6:45 pm
1/24 Coral Reef 1:00
1/25 Boma 5:50
1/26 Mama Melrose @4:35 missed the fantasmic package by 5 min:confused:
1/27 Kona Cafe @1:45

We (ok I) am super excited about the trip, and think we have a great itinerary planned. A bit nervous about the economy, but let's think positive. Thanks for the "soap box" all you retired folks out there :rotfl2: !

WELCOME to the Snowbirds! :cool1:

We'll have Phillies gear on for sure!! We were at WDW in January 1994, which was after the Phils were in the World Series the last time. We saw Jim Fregosi, the manager, at MGM. We talked to him and thanked him for the good season, and got our picture taken with him. DH wore his Phillies hat most of the time. And that was when they lost!!!! Looking forward to celebrating tonight!!!:cheer2:

I am so bummed about the game. If it resumes tomorrow I will be working. I work 3-11 tomorrow. Hopefully my patients won't mind my watching the game.

What a lousy way to call a game, if you ask me! We were completely bummed but what can you do? It was raining pretty hard there. It's suppose to rain again tonight. Let's hope that they get it in tonight and win big! We'll definitely have our Phillies gear on in January!

So, here's my question for your experts. My boys keep talking about riding race cars. But I'm not thrilled with what I read about the race cars in Tomorrowland. Read they are kind of anticlimactic and boring for most.

Will Test Track make my boys happy and satisfy their desire to ride a race car? Or should I suck it up and take them to the other cars?:confused3

Test track will definitely fill the need for race car action! I can't wait for DS to ride it. He's going to love it!

Morning Snowbirds! There are so many pages to catch up on. I have to do it in shifts! LOL Hope you all have great day. I'll check back in when DS goes to preschool.

The Tomorrowland cars are VERY boring!!

Yes, take them on Test Track!! :car: They will love it!! :cool1:

Yes, test track rocks!

We usally hit whatever park we want to do one more time, and take it all in till next time.

Hey, y'all! Since I am a Southern gal, I don't count as a snowbird- but I just found the thread and wanted to add myself to the "going to WDW in January" list.

The vacationers: me (42 yo SAHM with a serious Disney obsession) and DD (10 yo 5th grader who is almost as Disney-crazy as me). We are leaving DH home this trip- he's not into WDW like we are.

The place: Best Western Lakeside

The time: 10 nights, 1/16- 1/26. DD has MLK day, the Friday that same week, and the following Monday off school, so she will only miss 3 instructional days.

The plan:
Fri-Drive to FL after school- arrive at hotel that night.
Sat- Epcot
Sun- AK- lunch @ Tusker House
Mon- BB if warm enough, DTD if not, then to campfire at FW
Tues- MK- dinner @ Plaza
Wed- DHS
Thur- realx at resort, tour deluxe hotels- dinner@ Spoodles at the BWI
Fri- MK
Sat- Epcot- lunch @ Biergarten
Sun- AK
Mon- drive home to NC

Hope we see some of you all there!!

Shelly... Sorry I spelt your name wrong in my last message!! :headache:

Peaches... Yep, the Tomorrowland cars are boring!!! And it's smoky and hot and slow. Maybe boys might like it though. :confused3

Oh-oh, Shelley I have a change to make to my ADRs! Sorry!

On January 19, we're now eating at Boma for breakfast instead of 1900 Park Fare.

If it's bad, I'm blaming Trixie. :goodvibes

AussieAngel-If it is bad, you better tell me before I go there! Are you taking your computer with you??? ;)

If they don't want to "drive" then TT will definately work. Much faster than any car you drive there. But if they want to "drive" then you will have to "gulp" ride the cars.

QOTD: We'll probably ask the Kids where they would like to go one more time, park hopping, and maybe DTD.

Lots of snow talk today, we already have a couple of inches on the ground and they have forecasted 6-10 inches total accumulation today. (I personally think it will all turn to rain;))

Maybe you should leave me a note at the desk of AKL so I'll know when I check in! You could even leave it in code...something like..."DO NOT become caged"!
