Meghan - we do have a Lacrosse team here, the Minnesota Swarm and they play at the same arena the Minn. Wild does (My DH works there). I bet you have a lot of fun. Lacrosse is finally getting popular here and the high schools are just starting to offer it.

The Morning weather report: ("this is the morning report" ) VERY COLD this am (28), BUT, warming to a sunny high of 50 today. Forecasting warmer temps the next three days!!

Sounds fun! I just hope Dale doesn't show up!

QOTD: What is your favourite thing to do on your LAST night in Disney? (I know that we don't really want our vacations to end but it is a good question!)

Ooh, another good one. Well, we don't go often enough to have a regular favorite. This trip we'll be leaving late Sunday afternoon, after a morning of returning to park(s) for last rides on favorites, and early afternoon of shopping at DTD. So our last night will be Saturday, when we plan to go to church, have dinner offsite somewhere, and hit the Disney outlet stores! As I think about it, maybe we should plan to be back in time to see the Electrical Water Pageant that night. That would probably be more magical than shopping! (although finding Disney bargains is hard to top! )

So, here's my question for your experts. My boys keep talking about riding race cars. But I'm not thrilled with what I read about the race cars in Tomorrowland. Read they are kind of anticlimactic and boring for most.

Will Test Track make my boys happy and satisfy their desire to ride a race car? Or should I suck it up and take them to the other cars?

The cars in Tomorrowland ARE pretty boring...however, my boys have always LOVED them. They've already put them on their must-do list. I won't be surprised if my 10-year-old finally realizes that they aren't all that exciting, but for now they are really looking forward to driving those cars!

We don't have anything special we like to do on our last night. This year our last night is going to be the 31st and on the 1st we go on the cruise, so at least it won't be a sad last night. I can't even remember which park we'll be at that day. (I'm at work) I'm too lazy to go back and look at Shelly's fabulous lists and see if I can figure it out from my ADRs, but I think it's Epcot. If so, we'll catch Illuminations and that's it.

Last year we bought the girls a lanyard and a few pins each. They did not want to trade, just collect. I went on eBay and bought a bunch of the ones they said they liked, plus Mickeys for me. Then they said maybe they are going to trade some. They each have a couple that aren't part of their "collection" that they are willing to trade and I bought a little set on clearance at the disney store so they can trade those. I also will only let them trade with CMs. Someone told me once that certain CMs will only trade with kids, and you can ID them by the color of their lanyards. I don't know what color it is however, I'm sure we can find out on these boards somewhere!

I will also buy them each a new pin that has the year on it to keep. (among the many other things I will buy!!)
They won't do autographs this trip, maybe just some pictures. Just because we've done them twice and this year they agreed we don't want to spend too much time in line for that since we only have three days. We will be able to do more of that on the cruise. We need to hit those rides!

QOTD: Last night at Disney - well, my d loves Spectromagic, and this time it's playing the night before we leave. That and Wishes will be our last night. We'll still have time the next day before our flight to go to a park, so it won't be our last memory, just our last night.

Our tradition on our last night is to go to turf club for a late dinner and then we pick the park we want to spend our last night in and just enjoy!

Hey, y'all! Since I am a Southern gal, I don't count as a snowbird- but I just found the thread and wanted to add myself to the "going to WDW in January" list.

The vacationers: me (42 yo SAHM with a serious Disney obsession) and DD (10 yo 5th grader who is almost as Disney-crazy as me). We are leaving DH home this trip- he's not into WDW like we are.

The place: Best Western Lakeside

The time: 10 nights, 1/16- 1/26. DD has MLK day, the Friday that same week, and the following Monday off school, so she will only miss 3 instructional days.

The plan:
Fri-Drive to FL after school- arrive at hotel that night.

I totally understand the leaving the hubby at home. Mine is definitely staying home this trip!!! LOL!! Hope you guys have a great vacation!

Well first of all for those of you intersted in the weather in FL at the moment well its COLD LOL (Well it is cold for me LOL)!! High 61 degrees and Lows in the 30s...not ideal for October in Florida!

Anyways for the QOTD: My last evening I will be re-riding some of my favorite rides at DHS and in the morning hitting up MK for one more ride on the Haunted Mansion (I adore that ride it is MY FAVORITE!!) I probably will make a stop at DTD and buy some snacks for my student's birthday party when we return.
