I hope you guys don't mind, since I know I"m not one of the "leaders" here, but I've been lurking on the DISigns board for a while and today I asked if anyone would like to design some sort of Snowbirds logo for us. I asked for something to print out like a tag, or could use to make a T-shirt if we wanted to do a meet and wear it. Anyway, if something comes up, I'll pass it along. Use it or not - up to you!

Hi, Peeps! I was in Nazareth today and our church had a baptism in the Jordan River, so this is my first chance to be online.

Well, it's a disappointing day in my Disney planning. My TA told me that the only value or moderate still available for this big deal that came out yesterday is All Star Sports. I hate sports. Always have, pretty much. The deal will save us $358, give us 2 extra days of park tickets, and give us $400 worth of gift cards, so we have to take it. And it seems like this might be the only deal coming out. It isn't near what I was expecting or hoping for.

And I feel so sad about not being able to stay at Pop Century. I had never even looked at All Star Sports. I just took a few minutes and it looks fine. My boys will enjoy it. Even Maggie, my 7 1/2 year old, will probably like it just fine. It's first on and off the buses, which is positive. But other than that, I'm having a hard time mustering up any real excitment.

So, I'm waiting to tell Scot that we have to move to AS Sports. I'm sure he won't care. We don't plan to be in the hotel except in teh evenings for sleeping. One day we'll spend the morning at the pools. That's it. So.

Bummed. After all the hype yesterday, I was really expecting something spectacular. It's a pretty decent savings, though free dining would have saved us way more.

Now, if I move our reservation to All Star Sports and then I get a pin via email, can I use the pin in conjunction with the deal or is it one or the other? 'Cause I'd be really bummed if I took the move and then got a pin that would actually save me even more money.

Feeling bummed out for the first time in planning my trip. Off to catch up on the thread and see how you all are doing!

First off, how cool is it to see a baptism in the Jordan River?!?! I think I'd be completely breathless at that!

Secondly, please do not worry about staying at Sports. We've only stayed at Values (Music) but in my opinion, they are great. You've said yourself that you probably won't be spending too much time in the room, so I really wouldn't try to get too worked up over it.

For me, it's fun to see how Disney takes a specific theme and how they incorporate that into other things.

Even though you aren't into sports, you'll be at Disney...with your family, that out weighs any resort.

I think too many times we get so focused on making "The Perfect Trip". However it's not the resort or adr's that make "The Perfect Trip", it's the laughter between family members, it's the little inside jokes and stories that are created and shared for months and years later.

To all my fellow snowbirds, due to the great package that is now available I switched from BCV to the GF CL the only problem is that we had to move our dates to the end of April to get availability and to avoid the crowds during PEAK Season...... so it saddens me to say farewell to all of the January Snowbirds now I must go find another thread Hope you all have a great time in January!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok so I finally got my discount. My AAA TA had to fight with the CM she talked too...we were on the phone for over an hour. They didn't have any Pop Century preferred rooms for our dates...they did starting on the
17th...I would have had to make a room only ressie for the 16th.

She told them I already had the room I wanted couldn't they just apply the code...took them forever to decide and figure out how to do it...they did in the end...which was great...saved $239 + $200 (gift card)...not as much as I hoped...free dining would have been about $1000 for the 3 of us...but I guess any discount is better than none at all.

Glad everyone or almost everyone (sorry Carrie) got the deal they wanted or are happy with.

Oh my goodness... this is to funny.. my friend sent this newspaper article from a town in Florida... true story.....I am going to try and shorten the story... there is an elderly woman who is shopping at her local mall. While leaving the mall with her purchases she sees 4 males stealing her car. She drops her bags and pulls a gun from her purse and runs up to the car and yells at the men inside to get out or she will shoot.... they jump out of the car and run away. The elderly woman gathers her purchases gets in the car and is so shaken up that she can't even get the key in the ignition... then she notices a fisbee, a football and a case of beer... upon further investigation she realizes that this is not her car and she finds hers down the row about 4 vehicles away. She immediately drives to the police station to tell them what she has done. While conveying her story to the detective he begins laughing... it seems at the other end of the counter are four young males describing this crazy little old lady, with white curly hair, barley 5 ft tall that car jacked them.....

Haha...that's hilarious!

I needed to change mine by a day and I noticed other DISers with a CBR ticker so I went on a hunt, and found it!!

I like it. Especially your Lilo (can't think of the word right now...) tracker? whatever... Lilo is one of my favorite Disney characters.

Great news, Snowbirds! I was eligible for the discount after all.

We saved $338.00 + the $200 for a total of $538!!!!

They told me I would receive the $200 at check in and would be able to spend it on anything in the park including food and alcoholic beverages.

Yay! I was worried about you, since our dates are so similar to mine, and I couldn't get anything decent at WL to pull up (assuming you didn't want a Bunk Bed Room )

Aww... I'm sorry you couldn't get in to Pop... I think I'd be less than thrilled as well, but I'm sure you'll have a marvelous time at AS Sports.

BTW: I love your talk about where you've been today, it just sounds so Biblical. I would love to go visit that whole area.

You might be able to get something. You should at least try. Since it's just you, you'll probably have an easier time getting in than a larger group. Just be flexible with your times.

Yeah... Beaches & Cream doesn't take ADRs. We're planning on dropping by there at some point during our trip (probably after EPCOT or MGM one day) I kind of like not having to have an ADR, then we can move at our own pace, and if we decide we just want to skip it, we can! If you're planning on using credits for it though, that's complicated.
I'm definitely going to try and convince my whole family that we need to go there and take on the Kitchen Sink. I think it'd be a bit much for Logan and I (maybe not.... knowing how he eats) but if he had the help of all my brothers, they'd be licking it clean pretty quickly!

Hey guys just want to verify something if I do a dinner reservation at Ohana's will I be able to go down to the beach and watch Wishes or is that just for people staying at the Poly??? Just want to make sure before I call and try to get a ressie for that evening!

Yes... anybody can walk on the beaches, if you just happen to be there during Wishes, then they're not going to be checking Resort ideas or anything (at least that's what I've heard) If you drive over there in your car to eat you get a 3 hour pass (I think it's 3 hours) Obviously, it's not going to take you that long to eat... it will give you some time to wander the premises.

Though, I think it'd be extra fun to have Bird Call whistles, so if we think we see another Snowbird, we can just Bird Call them... though I think we'd probably have other non-Snowbird people turn around.

It always seems that I post a ton right in a row....

Anyways, I have some fun news. I had a Criminal Justice Systems test today. I've been trying to study all week, but the most I got done was Wednesday morning (maybe a solid hour of reading, and studying) I had another test Monday and a paper due yesterday, so my study time was limited since the last few weeks have been crammed as well. My big plan was to study last night. Well, as you all know, Disney released a discount last night, which threw me into "How will this benefit me?"

Well, I didn't get to study last night (I know... BAAAD college student ) Then, I figured "I can probably study during work tomorrow" (I know.... BAAAD Parking Nazi) Well, I was still trying to hammer out my details this morning, because I had a feeling that the Buy 4 get 3 free deal wasn't going to be the best deal for me. Since we're staying 9 nights, it'd be more like Buy 6, Get 3 Free. Anyways, I spent my time at work re-crunching the numbers, and e-mailing my TA. I think I confused her pretty bad...(I know they get commission, but I think I'll send her something as a Thank You, if I remember)
Needless to say, I did not study for my test.

So I sat down to my test at 2:30 and was like "Oh man, this is bad, I've never just NOT studied for a test before, especially when I got a B on the last one."

He began handing out the tests....
I started filling in my name and Student ID number on my bubble sheet....

He finished handing out his pile of tests - and then said "Wait, there aren't anymore?"

He ran out of tests!
He stood up there for a minute, just baffled, obviously trying to figure out a way to fix the situation. The class of course was NOT helping. They were all yelling out "That's ok, I don't have to take it." "But I studied 8 hours for this last night."
Finally he decided that the only fair thing to do was to have us all turn our tests back in, and go home.
We'll all take the test on Monday!

I felt really bad for him, because now he has to decide if he's going to write up an entirely new test, (some of us did have the test for a couple minutes - people could have even gotten out the door with one) or just let us take that one. It's not his fault that he didn't have enough. They put orders in at the Copy Center, and he had no idea that they didn't print off enough.

Oh well... now I get to spend some time studying this weekend. Not what I wanted to be doing this weekend, but it's better than bombing an exam!

All I know is someone is looking out for me... you can all make your assumptions as to whom.

Well I did get my Chef Mickey's breakfast and the Ohana's Dinner!! I'm eating very early at Chef Mickey's so I'll still make rope drop at MK I didn't want to miss that for anything. I'm still staying away from lunch ADRs as I don't want to interrupt my exploring the parks...although I'm still undecided about breaks, but I don't want to kill myself either LOL!! All I know is that its a good thing I'm a morning person and I won't be up too too late most nights LOL!! Only Haunted Mansion night is my only late night LOL!!

Well now that I have reached my limit of LOLs I'm going to head to play practice. Phillip and I are playing the couple in our church cantata this winter. Have a great evening all!!

OKAY! HERE IT IS! After agonizing about the decision for nearly 24 hrs and mulling over so many different options.....we have decided.......to............UPGRADE! to.........WILDERNESS LODGE! This is my ultimate dream of dreams resort! No way would we ever be able to afford this resort! Well, with the discount, we shortened our package stay to 8 nights woods view with dining and 8 days MYW tix. WE STILL SAVED MONEY even after tacking on a room only ressie on either end (darn those nonrefundable plane tickets) first night at AllStars Sports and last night at POP - both preferred rooms WITH discount from CAA! We still saved over $200 plus the $200 dollar gift card! I am so excited! I don't think I will sleep tonite either! Oh Well! Gotta zoom, I am babysitting for my sis and bro inlaw so they can go Christmas shopping! I shall try to check from there later after the 3 kiddos are in bed! WOOHOO!

Speaking of pictures, my desktop finally decided to cooperate, so here's me and my DH at our costume party last Saturday. (I apologize in advance for my DH's costume. His original did not pan out. Like I've said before, I'm not a baseball fan.)
