I swear I am never going to make our trip a surprise again!!! I am missing all the talking about it and planning with the kids!

Last night we were watching our Disney ride DVD (walks you through the rides - got in online - pretty cool). We watch it from time to time. All the sudden DS9 gets up and leaves and I ask him where he's going and he says "this makes me too sad - I want to go to Disney sooner than 2 years!" It was all I could do to not tell his sad little face - Don't be sad - we'll be there in 3 months!!! But I didn't. As much as I wanted to!!

Oh please, Christmas come fast!!! :santa:

I don't know how you did it Shelly!! I'm so terrible at keeping wonderful surprises a secret!! The minute I would have seen that face I would have caved!! Good for you though, imagine what the look on their face will be when you tell them Christmas morning!! YAY!!

I know how you feel! Whenever our DD sees the castle (before a movie, etc) she begs to go to Disney. We told her maybe after 2nd grade (she's in 1st grade right now). She sighs, but then says that she'll have lots of money saved up by then! At least you're telling your kiddos on Christmas! I have to wait a whole month AFTER Christmas!

Well Snowbirds, I will be back later! A friend is coming over for coffee in a few! She's bringing the coffee! TIM HORTON'S :woohoo: :woohoo: Some peeps in Michigan and OHIO might know about Timmy's! :goodvibes Catch ya later! :)

Oh, I love Timmy's! I just had a bagel and pumpkin spice donut from there today! Yummy!

Forgive me for not knowing the correct greetings, but for any of our snowbirds celebrating Yom Kipper, I hope you have a wonderful and blessed holiday!

You're completely forgiven; thanks for the wishes!

Because it is a communal Day of Atonement, Jews generally fast from sundown to sundown (about 26 hours). This fast includes not only food but water as well. It closes out the Ten Days of Repentance - Jewish tradition has it that G-d writes each person's fate for the coming year in the Book of Life. Then during the Ten Days, G-d reviews those fates, while Jews turn inward and repent and pray. Then at the end of Yom Kippur, G-d seals each person's fate in the Book of Life. (Of course, through the year, G-d always retains the ability to change that fate - Jews don't believe in predestination!)

Given the nature of the day, the traditional greetings are, "May you have an easy fast" and "May you be sealed in the Book of Life for good."

Hi Peaches! :goodvibes So sorry to hear about all your troubles with the landlady! Hope everything gets worked out! You are in my thoughts and prayers!

Thanks!:goodvibes

Just sitting here, tooling around online. I think we're going to play a game or watch a movie and then go to bed.

Tomorrow is my Georgia Kate's 3rd birthday!!! She's my baby and I can't believe she's 3 already! Where does the time go?:confused3

Scot is baking ice cream cone cupcakes and we're just doing a family thing tomorrow. I think we'll have a picnic for Georgia over the weekend sometime with friends.

She is such a stinker. What did we do without her?:goodvibes

Awwww...wish your DD a wonderful and happy Birthday!!! I hope all her dreams come true for her!!!

Oh so it's been so long I forgot to post my report on the Celebration tour!

In one word..........Lame.....:sad2:
It was basically a bunch of kids handing out balloons. While I loved carrying my balloon around the city, after only an hour or two, the ears had deflated making it look like a weird udder. (It was pink)
There is a code on the balloon envelope, which according to the balloon people is for a different drawing than the one you enter on a daily basis. (Win a 6 day trip as opposed to 4) BUT, if you already entered an email, you have to enter a new email to get to the page where you enter that code.

So, if you happen to be in the area it's worth the free balloon and smile, but I wouldn't make a trip just to go see it. I sorta wish I didn't waste the metro card fare, but we made a day of it and went out to lunch! Back when they did the YOMD thing in Times Square it was way cooler. They had all sorts of entertainment going on. Not so here.

I heard the same thing about the celebration in Pittsburgh. I am so glad I didn't drive into the city for it!

Good to know I didn't miss anything major. If I would have driven the hour and a half to Toronto for that, I would have been pretty upset!

We are either getting a limo pick us up since it is a surprise trip or we are driving ourselves. So I guess we will leave them in the car.
Anyone who flys out of philly? Where do you park your car for long term parking?

I fly out of Philly as well, but since I leave so early (6:35 am this time!) I usually get a family member to take me. I know there's a lot of on-site parking too, but I'll recheck with my father when I get home. He worked at PHL for like, 35 years!

When are you telling her??? The day you leave?

We don't really plan on telling her as of now. She's one smart cookie, so I'm sure she'll figure it out. We have to catch our connecting flight at JFK, so she might be a little confused. Right now, we just plan on waking her up super early (8am flight) and telling her we have to go to the airport and go somewhere. I promise to buy a video camera by then so I can tape the whole thing!

Happy Birthday to your baby! Those cupcakes sound really yummy! You'll have to post a pic for us to drool over!

Speaking of yummy, what I wouldn't give for a Tim Hortons pumpkin spiced doughnut! Ohhh or the honey glazed! MMmmmmm Sadly we don't have any around here, and Dunkin Donuts just doesn't cut it for me. I have to get my fill when I'm on a trip to TO or Northern NY.

Hi Snowbirds! Long time, no post! Life keeps getting in the way of my posting time, not to mention my trip planning!!! Anyway, I'm so excited to see my ticker this morning. 3 more months to go!!!! :cool1: I've been training for the marathon (my first full marathon) and my hubby keeps encouraging me by talking about the Mickey medal I'll get for finishing. :goodvibes Some days I just want to quit but so far, so good. I have a 1/2 marathon this Sunday in Long Beach so that should be fun.

I went to Disneyland Sunday since they were opened early. Miley Cyrus had her 16th birthday party there so the park hours were 6:30AM - 5:00PM. DL at 6:30AM is so nice. The sun was just starting to rise, the lines were short and I won a Dream Fast Pass.

Well, time for me to go again. The kids are restless already! You all have a wonderful day!

You'd better! I can only imagine the pure joy that will be on the face of all of your DDs and DSs that are being surprised!! Oh to be a fly on the wall, little kids and surprises are oh so much fun!! I'm sure she will be totally elated!!

Oooh Good Luck on your Marathon!! There is no way I could ever run that much!!! Oh and I'm envious...DL at sunrise! WOW what an experience sounds like you had a great time!!!

Awww What an awesome moment that will be!!! I can't wait to see her face I bet it's a priceless reaction! I hope you can get a video!

I'm so glad we are driving so we don't have to worry about what to do with coats.:car: I'll just make my hubby go outside in the freezing January weather and warm up the truck before we leave and I'll have my kid's blankets waiting for them to snuggle with since we're leaving in the middle of the night! As long as we don't have a snowstorm- that would definitely slow up my plans!:faint:

Kudos to you! I wouldn't be able to contain myself! :jumping3: That or I'd probably slip up somewhere and spill the beans by accident. :scared: You are going to have one awesome Christmas video though!!!

Glad to hear. I was worried I was missing out on something. I'm still ticked I can't even get a pin when I pop those stinking balloons every day. :headache:

Definitely get a camera!!!! :yay:

We are telling our kids on Christmas too! (Well, my DS5 - my DD1 will not care much) Various presents will be Disney-related, and I have one of those planning videos as a stocking present that we can watch. I thought that telling too much before that would just be too far ahead to have that special anticipation for a 5 year old - this way we leave Jan 4 and so have the week betw. christmas & new year's to spend at home watching Disney movies all week, looking at maps of the parks, which my son is fascinated with (he still has a 6 flags park map from a July trip that he loves - any advice on where to get the best park maps ahead of time?) and just in general talk all week about it.

(Except that we are going with my MIL who lives in TX right now and every time we Skype with the kids she brings up the Jan. trip and starts talking about Disney and I always have to talk over her or do something to distract, because she just doesn't get the surprise part - argh!)
