Maybe that is the one I read about because I think it was going to be at the Swan and/or Dolphin. I was just looking back trying to find the post about it on the other thread and now I can't find it.

Thanks for the info! I feel a little bit better now! :goodvibes

My older sis is going to be at the meeting at the Swan and Dolphin. She will be in meetings all day, so I don't think it will affect the crowds. She's trying to extend her trip by a few days so her husband can go down and meet up with her. She wants to at least get to Epcot for a day.

It's getting there. I tried to download a Disney font and it didn't work for some reason. So that's the next project! I think I might want to laminate it, so that it could be used again seeing as I've put so much time into it.

Does anybody know of anyplace that you can get something big laminated (similar to poster board size)?

Trixie.... you could try either Staples or even go to your local elementary school and ask them.....

:yay: :yay: Hope the second game was a win also!!!!

THANKS!! :goodvibes The second game was loss for DS7. Bummer. But he had fun!

I can't believe next Sunday is the last soccer game of the season already.

Shelly~ Do you realize we are 18 pages from 200......AGAIN!!! YIPPEE:yay: :yay:

I know, we are so chatty. :hyper2: :grouphug: :rotfl: I am predicting thread #4 before January and probably #5 for when we come back and share all of our wonderful vacation memories! :goodvibes

PS - I would have sworn we were on the list Shelly, but please add us... we will be staying at All-Star Music Jan. 24-31.

Thanks!

Jensen ~ I just checked and you are on the list! The last time I posted it was on the 18th on page 177 and you are definitely there! :goodvibes

All you Mommy's..... seems that you all have little ones.... mine are much older... DD will be 19 in a couple of weeks and DS will be 16 in January.... so many of the things you are concerned over I was also when they were younger... and it doesn't change... the older they get the concerns just change.... I will tell you nothing makes you heart skip a beat like the first time they pull out of the driveway.... and the relief you feel when they get back home... or when you drop them off at college and pull away.... talk about tears....

I would rather spend all my time with my kids.... we have wonderful relationships.... while still parenting I am also a friend to them... they confide in me, ask me to go places with them, my DS still tells me he loves me every day and gives me a kiss.... even in front of his friends.... he is one of the "popular boys" in school, great athelete, great student, cutie.... and still a mama's boy and I love it.... one of the things we have really instilled in our children is the importance of giving back.... they realize they are very fortunate children... have many things that others don't.... they both have given hundreds of hours in community service... at school, church and community.... I know for a long time my inlaws really thought we pushed our kids to hard.... but we look at it as encouraging them to become better citizens.... and it works.. my DD is a kind, caring young woman and when she was ready for college she received a numerous scholarships not based on academics (although they were great grades)... but based on community service....

so don't give up on doing what you think is best... we all might parent in different ways... no one knows what is right and what is wrong... lead by example and be positive... and you'll have great kids....

Shelly,
I have changed and added some adrs to my list.
Monday January 12th: Chef Mickey's Breakfast
Thursday January 15th: Ohana's Dinner
Thank You
Jennifer

Good morning everyone...just checkin in before we head to the bus stop..it is COLD this morning.

Sorry Maggied about the Boston game....but I am happy it will be Tampa Bay and the Phillies:banana:

Go Phillies!!

Andrea.... I am in for the Phillies.... gotta beat the Rays as they beat my Soxs..... ;)

Trixie - a place like Kinkos (or whatever they're called these days) can do laminating! Any print shop, too, in your phone book.

Andrea.... I am in for the Phillies.... gotta beat the Rays as they beat my Soxs..... ;)

See, my theory is if the Sox are going to lose, they might as well lose to the champs. So, go Rays! Plus, Carlos Pena is from my mom's hometown and he is friends and was a roommate of another classmate of mine (who had to give up his pro career because of cancer).

Morning everyone!

Just on quick to check in before heading off to work. Which should be interesting because when I left on Saturday it seemed to be falling apart. Plus rumor has it, our District Manager is coming today because of "incidents" that have occurred between another associate and a manager. Great... I just love these days :rolleyes1 .

Anywho, I'm sad Boston lost. Can't decide if I want the Phillies or Rays to win. I like both teams, so I guess either way works for me!

Well everyone, have a great Monday, stay warm!!

I made him watch Sleeping Beauty yesterday afternoon. He doesn't much care for Princess :confused3 At any rate, I was kind of sleepy and I was drifting in and out. Every time my eyes would go shut, he would come over and kiss me awake. He must have kissed me 10 times. Needless to say, I didn't get my cat nap, but it was really sweet to have my very own Prince Phillip.

That is SO precious! There's nothing in the world like our babies (because they will always be our babies) kisses.

What beautiful words. Thank you for sharing that with us.

I am right there with you! I actually like fall and the time change. I think I may make some home made baked potato soup . . . mmmmmm! I know I'll be able to talk my son into some good old Disney movies.

AAAWWWW :love2: I have 2 Little Prince Phillips'--boys sure do loooooove their mommies!!!
Good morning Snowbirds! :goodvibes

I read on one of the January code threads yesterday that there is going to be some kind of convention at WDW for the dates of Jan 17-24. 7000 conventioneers PLUS their families!  I am really starting to wonder if January was a smart choice for us. . . . New Years, Marathon, MLK Day, conventions, Brazilians, Superbowl. . . I'm a little worried! :scared:

CRAP! I didn't know that we would have the cheer thing or the Brazilian(or any) tour groups!! The last time we went in Dec-we had to deal with the cheerleaders----and yes they were at the parks during the day. I continually had to jerk my stroller to a stop, or mow down about 5 or 6 girls!! And they were very unruly-chanting at resteraunts, every store, in lines.....it was one reason last year we moved it to Jan. That said--I think a lot of it has to do with the cheer chaperones. I saw one woman telling some poor little CM at the desk at Tonys off---because ALL her girls and chaperones couldn't sit at one large table. Really, can you see Tony's sliding tables together? The girl asked if they had reservations and the woman kinda flipped out --Like : Are you kidding me? Reservations? Can't you just move some people around, I mean, we have 18 girls--I NEED them to be together". I kid you not-- I wanted to scream. I mean, here I had made ADRs for my fam of 5, done what I was suppose to do, and was stuck behind this lady with aaaaalll these girls who had apparently not done one ounce of prep or research.:scared1: :headache: Come on people!! With grown-ups like this running the show, what can we expect from 18 teen age girls left on their own?

I know, we are so chatty. :hyper2: :grouphug: :rotfl: I am predicting thread #4 before January and probably #5 for when we come back and share all of our wonderful vacation memories! :goodvibes

YAY!:yay: :cheer2:

Amen girl!! Examples are soooo important--Kids watch what you DO not just what you SAY!!!

This is the meal DH is looking forward to the most. He wanted to eat there during our 2006 trip but I didn't make reservations. I can't wait!

So true! I hope and pray that the values we instill will carry Rylan through the challenging times in life. My parents rarely said "i love you" when I was growing up so I make a point to tell Ry as much as possible.

Hi Snow Birds, this is Kazooie's Hubby. It doesn't look like she has been on this morning so I just wanted to chime in.:goodvibes I was just reading about crowd concerns in January. For those of you that will be there for the Dance Comp. We were there for it last year and the only place things seemed to be more crowded was on the buses (lots of young girls in "dance" makeup). The Competition was held at HS and that was really the only place you noticed them. I wouldn't worry about it.

In 2001 (the last year the Super Bowl was held in Tampa), we had friends in WDW and they said the only thing different was that everyone was wearing football jerseys. The crowds were not much different from earlier in the week.

The crowd levels are out of our control, how people act is out of our control, but we can control having a magical time! Bottom line is that we’ll all be at Disney. Besides, a busy park in January still beats a busy park in July by a mile.;)

Glad you enjoyed the menu. I'm trying to post the ones that I know a lot of Snowbirds are going to! Are you doing breakfast or dinner at Ohana's? We did breakfast there in May, it was so much fun and the food was very good. :goodvibes

Hey MAGGIED! I know what you mean about kids. I have three daughters. My oldest is about to turn 18 in two weeks and it is killing me. She is a good kid, she does a lot of volunteering and really is good, but going off to college is scaring the hell out of me, and my heart is kind of breaking. I want her to go...really I do. I never went and really resent not being allowed to, because I was a girl. I want her to experience it, but I want to hold on to my little girl. She still kisses me goodbye and we do shop and spend time together when we can. My youngest are 12 year old girls and they still love to cuddle and watch TV with me...It feels like they were all little just yesterday. We are going to DIsney together "just the girls" in Jan. and I am excited! I can't wait! Your words can't be any truer.....

Living not far from Boston I am a RED SOX fan...since I have never been a TB fan, I am so rooting for the PHILLIES!!!!!

FedEx Kinkos and any office supply store such as Office Max or Office Depot can help you get something big laminated!!

Good morning, Snowbirds! :cool1: :cool1:
We're all another day closer to Disney! :woohoo:

OK, catching up from the weekend...

Yes, I agree with all those points Wendy. Thank you for the insight. I think the price is so good for the great rooms, location, that I don't usually care about the other perks. Since my FIL was only a sgt., we get a fabulously inexpensive rate. I mean, there's no way they would discount a deluxe enough to get me to switch. As long as my MIL is with us we get that deal. Since the DDP isn't really our thing, I should just quit worrying about it! :) There's just something about the word "free" or "discount" that gets me all excited! Maybe when/if we go without MIL, we'd be able to take advantage of a package deal.
Especially now that I'm so aware of all the possibilities! It's exciting!

Sheree--we also love Shades of Green for all the reasons you and Wendy mentioned. But I can't help thinking about possible Disney discounts, and what it would take to make me change our whole plan! :teacher: Another thought on tickets...if your MIL is near a military base or post, have her check at the MWR (morale, recreation, and welfare) or ITT (not even sure what that stands for--something tickets and tours?) office. They can get WDW tickets that are often even less expensive than the ones at SOG (and still no tax). They might have to order them, but you still have time before January.

Scot and I decided to buy some cheese, then go to this yummy (but Kosher...hence the "bringing our own cheese" part) Deli that sells delicious hoagies.

"Bring your own cheese"...that just made me :rotfl:
One of the great things about living in or visiting other countries is experiencing the cultural differences.
Now I'm thinking about that hymn, "Bringing in the cheese, bringing in the cheese, we will come rejoicing, bringing in the cheese..." Oh wait, it's sheaves...

I made him watch Sleeping Beauty yesterday afternoon. He doesn't much care for Princess :confused3 At any rate, I was kind of sleepy and I was drifting in and out. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Monday! :flower3:

Wow first of all a true DH :worship: I'm in awe!! And what great advice, I've been really stressing about crowd levels because of MLK weekend. But you said it best its all about what you make of it. If you have done the research and have planned your itineray you know what you need to do to make this your best trip ever!!!

Thanks so much for these words!!!

PS...any tips on how to get a hubby interested in Disney LOL (just kidding, I have no hope for mine LOL)
