Hi everyone. I've been lurking on this thread for a couple of weeks. :)

Is anyone else renting a car while in Orlando? I've spent a couple of hours, and the cheapest rate I can find for our 9 days is $346 for a mid-size. This is using codes/coupons found on Mousesavers.

Has anyone got a good rate on a car yet? If so, please share how you got it.

Thanks! :hippie:

Hi Sherry! :goodvibes

Sorry, we've never rented a car while at WDW before so I can't really help you there. Anyone else???

Hey, snowbirds! Guess it's still morning where you all are! This time change thing still seems so odd to me. I'm finished with lunch, the kids have finished their homework and we're gearing up for violin lessons. We have to pick up our new car seat covers, and I'm stalking some Disney dvd auctions on ebay. I finished a 4 hour Arabic lesson this morning, and I need some more coffee! :surfweb: I have some online work to complete this evening, but mostly my day is winding down! It's 3pm here.

And on the East Coast right now it's only 8am. I can't get used to that, no matter how long I'm here!

So, 83 days until I return to the US for the first time in 4+ years! And just 107 days until Disney!!!!!!:cool1:  :cool1:

Happy morning to all..... there is a bit of a chill in the air here in Central NY.... actually its cold 42 degrees....brrrrrrrrr...time to break out the flannel jammies......

I sleep in my flannel jammies all summer long! :lmao: Now i have to add a sweatshirt and fuzzy socks :rolleyes1

Here's another QOTD . . .
How many times have you been to Disney? What are you looking forward to this trip?

This will be my 10th trip, I think. DS's 3rd and DH's 5th, maybe. I'm really looking forward to going with just my husband and son. That will be a first for us. We always have tag-alongs.

This will be either our 26th or 27th trip... not sure... that count includes 3 while I was a child... the rest have been with my DH and children.... many of these were weekend trips back when you could get air fare for $100 round trip and we would fly down to visit my Dad... but we usually have 2 different week long stays each year... also some of the trips have been just DD and myself, or DS and my mom and me... many family combinations...

I am looking forward to the Birthday celebration for my son and seeing the new Toy Story ride....

Excellent QOTD! :goodvibes

This will be the 4th trip for all of us. We are most looking forward to the cooler weather on this trip :cool1: (it was 95 all week in May:eek: ), Toy Story Mania (just missed it's opening in May:sad2: ), and the new pool at CBR (hoping it's warm enough to swim!:wizard: )!

Good morning all!!

QOTD...I have been around 17 times or so; 5 when I was a child, 3 times for conferences for work, once with my sister and her family, and the rest with my hubby and my kids.

I am most looking forward to.....going on the autotrain (or am I dreading it;) ), trying TSM, staying in a 1BR at AKV for the first time.

Hi Snowbirds! I've been on a little hiatus due to food poisoning. It was terrible!!! So terrible that I didn't even feel like typing. :scared1:

Jenjolt- When I spoke to the CM she told me it would be about a month.

MelXThree- CRT sounds wonderful. I would also like to suggest the tea at GF. I've read wonderful things about it, as well. (Don't know if it is available at the time you need, though.)

I've been 5 times. 7 if you count the two extended times (College Program and joining the Disney Cast full-time.)

I am very much looking forward to staying at WL. We've never seen the inside of it. I'm also looking forward to breakfast at Akershus.princess:

Peanut-DD's birthday party was so cute! Belle loves Abby Cadabby. (Hope I spelled that correctly.) Your girl's are so pretty!!!!

To everyone else- so sorry if I missed commenting on something important. I think I threw up half of my brain yesterday.

This will be our first trip....neither DS nor I have ever even flown before. We've never taken a major family vacation, never been to Florida, never been to Disney, so this will be full of many "firsts" for us.

What I'm looking forward to most is having the chance to re-connect with the family and enjoy acting like a kid. Our DS will turn 13 while we're away, and he's growing up so fast. I think its so important to enjoy his youth and savour the family time while he still thinks its fun to hang out with mom and dad.

We're very much anticipating celebrating his birthday at the "Happiest Place on Earth" , experiencing the character dining (Chef Mickey's and Ohanas), visiting the theme parks, shopping in Downtown Disney......oh, the list goes on!

Oh yeah, we're also sooooo excited about trading in our harsh Ontario winter for the moderate Florida temperatures. We'll be the pasty white bodies swimming in the pool on Ol Man Island! Usually its so cold here on DS's birthday that the balloons we put outside pop in the freezing cold. Even Florida's "chilly" will feel warm to us :thumbsup2 .

Good morning!!

I leave for the airport in a hair under 2.5 hours and I won't be back until Sunday. What do you think? Will we have a new forum topic by then? :rotfl:

I have 107 days until my trip! (I think. 7 days left, 31 in October, 30 in November, 31 in December and we fly out laaaaaaate on the 9th...) no, no. 108 days? Math is hard, early in the morning when I'm on vacation.

I'm sure we'll be on our second thread by then ;) Have a good trip.

I've been away since Friday and had ten pages to catch up on. Yikes! :scared1:

MAGGIED--we're looking forward to getting back to SOG! DH is Air Force (17 years already!). We've stayed at SOG twice--once in 1996 (before the renovation, DH's first Disney trip), and once in 2004 (our most recent visit). It's so peaceful and the huge rooms can't be beat. :)

Hey, I was singing that Snowbird song this weekend! Guess I was thinking of you all even though I wasn't DISing. I could only remember one verse, though. Thanks for posting the youtube link!

Great QOTD! I have to think about it...
As a young child, 3-5 times (I can picture three different groups of people that we went with, but for some reason the number 5 sticks in my head); 1983; 1986 (day trip to MK); 1987; 1996 (DH's first trip); 2002 (DSs' first trip); 2004. So that makes 9-11 total.

I am most looking forward to: DD's first trip; the boys being more adventurous; and all the things that are new since our last visit...Soarin', Expedition Everest, Toy Story Mania, Fantasmic (not new but we've never seen it).

Hi. Have you checked out the transportation section of the board? There are always discussions going on about rental cars, discounts, etc. etc. You could probably find some good info there. We are driving so I can't help, unfortunately.

Good luck,

This is our second trip. We went this year (in February) and had the best time. Well, the kids and I did. I think DH was hoping for a little more relaxation. We'd "gone big" because we thought it would be our only trip for a while - we stayed at the GF, DxDP, etc. A few months ago, DH won an award from his company which will allow us to go again in January. I was so touched - he said he wanted to use it for what made his family happy (although I know he would really have loved all new gadgets and TVs, etc). He's a good one...

I'm most looking forward to seeing the expressions on my kids' faces again. They love to look at the parade pictures in trip reports and talk about going to "Dis-uh-ney". (They're 4 -twins - and I don't have the heart to correct their pronunciation).

So sorry if this has already been covered - but what did you do for Disney???

Yuck- (I was going to put a smiley that was sick but I don't think you need the visual right now!) Glad you're feeling better!:)

This will be my 4th trip but my first trip with two kids. My son was only 6 months last time we went so e realyl didn't get to experience Disney too much with all the naps he took! I'm excited that this will be the first trip where my kids will get to experience the MAGIC :wizard: !!! I've already been prepping my daughter - she's 18 months- introducing her to the characters and such so she'll know who they are when we go! It's so cute when she says "Minnie!" and "Mickey" :cutie: My son has been counting down on his homemade calendar we made from disney.com and points out the sign for I95 and knows that's the road that will take us to Mickey! :goodvibes

Can I ask you all your opinion??

I have planned (as a surprise) golf for my DH & DDad one day in WDW, the Pirate Cruise for my DS5 and for my mother and I CRT. I got a good time 8:05am the morning we leave. I was planning on getting the slipper dessert saying..I love you Mom. She has no WDW knowledge so she has never said she has to do this, but I thought it would be fun for us girls to do BUT I have been re-thinking....maybe I should get her a photo session with the whole family?? (getting photopass anyways) She always wants us to go get a family picture done but we never have. The only problem is that my brother and his wife are NOT coming so we would be leaving them out???

Would do you guys think?? CRT or photo session??

MelxThree.... I think BelleSoleil had a great idea with the tea at the GF... I did this last year with my DD (18) and DM and it was wonderful.... its kind of a funny story but we arrived at the GF and we were walking to the restaurant. I happened to mention to my DD and DM that it looked like they were setting up for a special event in this one area at the very back of the lobby area.... overlooking the courtyard... it was a beautiful room with nice comfy chairs, beautiful china, etc.... so we continue walking to the resturant only to be redirected back to the area I had commented on... that's where the tea was served..... they had a wonderful selection... I chose the house blend which was delicious.... my DD is allergic to nuts so they made special sandwiches for her... the fruit was fresh and yummy.... the only negative I could say is that we are all vertically challenged... I am the tallest at 5'3"... and we really sank into the comfy chairs and sofa.... made us feel like we were little kids sitting at the big table:lmao: ... anyway... we spent about 1 1/2 hours there... it was a lovely afternoon for us while my DH and DS played golf....
