Great question! We have lots of firsts this trip.
I've never seen Mickey's Philharmagic so that is a must this trip
Ohana
Dole Whips
Magical Express

There are lots more, I'm sure, but I don't want to bore you

Wow, some of my favorites. Our favorite family "ride" is Mickey's Philharmagic, our favorite restaurant is Ohana. We also really enjoyed ME. BUT we had our first dole whip ast time and we all hated it. :)

QOTD-
Eating at Kona-Tonga Toast!
The Seas Aqua Tour!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always wanted to swim in the Living Seas tank!
Behind the seeds! Another tour I have always wanted to take.
Make ADR's is also new for me. Most of my trips took place in the good old days when you could decide on a restaurant that day.

Hey everyone thanks for welcoming. We're from Jersey and right now we're dealing with TS Hanna and i am thanking God that we are not going to WDW during hurricane season!!!

We're staying at the POP the whole trip....everytime we go we stay value, cause we like to eat all the good food and buy tons of souvenirs....

im begging my mom to do the DVC but so far no luck.

we'll be going as a family of four...ME, the HUB, the Princess 2 1/2, and the Fairy Grandmother!

my mom and i have been planning this trip since jan. 08 and we are so excited its only 4 and half months away!

I have become addicted to this page already...my mom got me hooked dont know if she's suscribed to this thread as i dont know her name on here yet...

i didnt tell her i signed up yet!! well that's all for now...i'll have to read back to find out who all is going....for now the baked ziti is ready....

just read the QOTD....my one thing is that we are doing deluxe dining...i have never done it, my mom has...we are going to pretty much every character meal possible...in hopes that DD will eat something besides ice cream this trip!

I am very happy to be joining this group! I just booked my first return trip to WDW since 1993! I'll be there for the marathon. My dates are Jan 9th - 15th and I'm staying at Pop Century. I wish I wasn't going alone but my husband and two sons can't make it. I'm sure I'll still manage to have some fun! :yay:

Let the countdown begin!

My DH is running the marathon as well! He's really looking forward to it. :)

Name one thing that you will do on your upcoming trip that you have not done on any other previous trip. :cool1:

Oooh good question.

1. Eating at the Crystal Palace! I've never done that before.
2. My husband's running the marathon - he wanted to, in 2005, but it didn't work out
3. Restaurant Marakkesh is new to me, too. I'm not sure why I've never eaten there before

Plus whatever's opened since I was last there in 2007. ;)

There are many firsts for our family trip this time around.

1. Seeing Fantasmic. Last time DS too young to stay awake or understand it.

2. Staying in a Value as we stayed at the campgrounds at Fort Wilderness.

3. Space Mountain

4. Dining Plan and all those wonderful meals

5. Pal Mickey-purchasing and playing with one

6. Pirate Cruise and Wonderland Tea Party for the children

7. Resort Exploring

8. Beaches & Cream-Kitchen Sink?

9. Enjoying all the magic we can find. Last two times DH and I went we didn't notice all the small details. We want to soak it all in.

10. Enjoying Disney at our pace. We have always gone down as a large extended family and followed their itinerary. DH is very much looking forward to enjoying this trip with only our small family and we are making the decisions for everything. That is a bit scary at times since we have never planned a Disney trip b4. It was only pay and show up.

We are also hoping for a Pirate and Princess Party. That would top off our trip.

Welcome to all the newcomers. It looks like our January Snowbirds list is truly growing fast.

We are booked @ FW cabins from Jan 2-9. Driving down from Northern NY.

A little worried about lingering holiday crowds, any thoughts?:confused3

Good Morning Snowbirds!!

It's a wonderfun day in PA! The clouds and rain are gone and the sun is shining.

It's going to be a great day!

How about at QOTD?
What is your favorite way to relax while at WDW?

My answer . . . After we make sure DS is sound asleep, DH and I love to enjoy a glass or two of wine on our balcony after a long hard day at the parks.

HI!!pixiedust:

We are going the 4th-10th and were worried too. Most people said that if they were going for the holiday they would be heading home by Sunday the 4th so we should be pretty good. I started a thread on this very topic.

My favourite way to relax at WDW?

Swim and play in the pools! Might be a bit cold to do that in January though!?

Also, having afternoon naps. I love afternoon naps. :lovestruc

Thanks for the info, that other thread was very helpful. I'm not as worried now. I wish we could push our trip back by a few weeks, but then we run into out DD has to be back in college, DS would miss more school, ect...........We'll just "brave" the crowds for the first few days, and hop it gets better!
Thanks again!!

My favorite way to relax at WDW?

-Sleep in and have breakfast in bed
-Lay out by the pool

Answer to the QOTD:

Just being on vacation is relaxing enough. When we're at WDW it's all about our Children. If they're happy and smiling, that's what matters the most to us.:)

My fav. way to relax is to stroll around DTD in the evening. Another thing we like to do is take a day to just enjoy Fort Wilderness. Sit by the pool, ride around in the golf cart, and do some shopping at one of the trading post.

Good Morning!! I need to be getting the kiddos ready for church and out the door for church....but I have this addiction....!!
Really, I just wanted to pop on and say Hi to everyone and check the QOTD. Hmmm, well, I work so hard planning that once I get on the plane I am relaxing!! But, watching the kids swim & fold my laundry by the quiet pool is always restful for me. Maybe because you don't have to think to fold--it's just automatic :laundy: Also, watching them have fun is so special--that makes me happy and you can't be happy & stressed at the same time!!!

Character meet & greet does NOT make me relax!! We are all keyed up to not get to the front of the line and the CM say" OH, sorry folks, Cinderella is going to be right back.....!!" don't that make ya cringe?!! Yikes!!!

What is your favorite way to relax while at WDW?

for me its shopping....the last trip in '06 my DH took DD (6months at the time) and just walked her around DTD, and i just got to wander and shop for hours...
i dont stress about what i'm spending until after i have to show DH the receipts!!

another subject....we're flying jetblue this time and so far, now that continental has added a first bag fee we're very nervous....im hoping jetblue is sticking to their guns and not going to add it....anyone have any thoughts on this?

My favorite way to relax......

Being at rope drop at DHS on EMH morning, walking commando style down Sunset Blvd towards TOT and RnR Coaster......riding both back to back. Then walk back to Starring Rolls Cafe get a Bagel/Salmon Platter, cup of coffee and sit outside eating and people watching........:cloud9:

Hi, snowbirds! Just got back from a day spent at the Mediterranean Sea! We found a lovely beach just north of Tel Aviv and went with friends who also have 4 kids roughly the same ages as ours. It was a blast! The kids really enjoyed the waves and the sand and I really enjoyed talking with my friend and watching the kids and the husbands enjoy the waves. Said friend doesn't swim, so I just hung back with her and our 2 youngest kids. It was nice. It was really nice considering they drove 2 cars to take all of us because we still do not have a car.

Question of the day from yesterday about firsts. Well, nearly everything is a first for some or all of us. First time for all my kids to even be in Floriday, let alone Disney. First time for many new and exciting sounding rides! First time to Animal Kingdom for me. First time we ever dreamed of doing a dining plan like this. Thanks to my Mom!:lovestruc

Lots of firsts!

Happy end of Sunday to you all!
~~Carrie

Peach3es- I'm glad you had such an awesome day!!!!!! I now have a great desire to head to the beach, even though all I can see for miles are cornfields! :scared1:

QOTD-
Well, the whole vacation should be relaxing, however my DH hates crowds and lines :sad2: so we will be resort hopping and/or swimming in the afternoons and evenings in order to "relax".
