Is it possible to do both parks in one day?

Any plans of attack I should think about? We are going Jan 4 - 11 and staying onsite in WDW. We'd like to take a day and go to Universal and Islands of Adventure.

You'll be able to do the highlights of both parks in one day...Since closing time will likely be 5 or 6PM, I'd suggest doing some research and identifying the "must-see" attractions and rides. You'll need to keep moving and minimize breaks and meal times, but yes, it can be done in one day (although this takes some of the fun and relaxation out of the experience but hey, it's better than not visiting UO at all).

I just came back last night from a week in Orlando. We did the 2 parks in one day. It does require planning though. I looked through the Universal website and read all the descriptions of the rides and attractions and decided which ones we wanted to do. I mapped out where each was. We arrived about an hour prior to opening. We finished up and ate at Bubba Gumps for dinner.

You can do several rides of the parks in one day. Think of it as doing Magic Kingdom and MGM in one day.
