January 2008 Code Watch

Hi!

I know this topic has popped up before but what are most doing for dining?

If I get the basic dining plan...I will have to pay for Breakfast with Cindy (2 TS), and The Crystal palace (1 TS) buffet out of pocket....not to mention the refillable mugs at the resort.

The "Delux plan is $518 more but Cindy' and Pooh's would be covered plus the mug for the resort.....I did some math and now the difference is down to approx. $275 between the two plans.

What would you do....or what are you doing?

Many thanks

We will be staying for 7 nights in January and I am just planning for the basic plan. So far I have it narrowed down to:

Hoop de vue (2TS)
Whispering Canyon
Primetime
Ohana's
Chef Mickeys (breakfast)
LeCellier

On the extra evening I plan on either cashing in MyPoints for Rainforest or just paying for something out of pocket. Our counter service will be used for breakfast or lunch on those days we are TS for supper and probably supper for the day we use Chef Mickey's for breakfast.

I dont think you get refillable mugs with the basic plan in 2008. I know.....it stinks. Do you know how much the refillable mugs are for purchase straight out?

I think the mugs used to be $11.99 each, of course they may have gone up like everything else.

No, refillable mugs are not included with the basic plan. I believe you can purchase at the resort for $11.99. We decided to stick w/the basic plan. While it would be nice to do more character meals and/or signature meals, it's a lot of food! We will be traveling w/2 small children to I'm not sure how they would hold up being taken to all of these places to eat.

Mrs.viv07, I believe you do need to pay your deposit with your disney visa. If you pay your whole trip on your disney visa then pay the bill off completly with your bank account, you will receive many rewards points that can be used like money. You can pay for dinners, snacks, souveniers and anything else you want. You can even use some rewards points to help pay off your disney trip.

i already paid the deposit? what can i do?

Mrs.viv07

Don't worry about that. If (or when!) Disney Visa codes come out, you use the code, they will have you send a new deposit using your visa and refund your old deposit. I'm not sure if you have to use your disney visa for the remainder of the ballance but why wouldn't you. You receive 1% for every dollar you spend and you know a disney vacation is lots of dollars!!!!!:rotfl2:

I have my room booke through disney for accommodation at POP in January for 92.25 a night.

I was able to use the AAA discount and now have it for $65 per night. I am from Australia and the NRMA (our motoring service) is afilliated with AAA in America so i could ude the discount and save my self $100:banana:

Subscribing...

I just booked a short birthday trip at the end of January for my DD6 and I'm hoping for a discount...:goodvibes

I also booked for Jan. We're going 1/17- 1/24 and hoping to get a discount. When I talked to the CM that made the res for us, she said that the codes should be out around the last week of September and the beginning of October.

posting this here and Feb 08 too - planning a trip Jan 31-Feb 2 2008

I have some questions about how to book this - I got a quote from AAA and I got a quote from Mouse Fan Travel - the AAA quote was lower, but maybe it's better to go with the travel agency so they'll watch for discounts for me?? what do you think?

I went to allears to see what travel agency they recommended -and I really couldn't figure out what they recommend - which one do they say to use?

Subscribing!

Looking to go January 19-26.

Want to stay at the Poly and really need a discount!:)

Trying to decide if i should get an AP or join AAA? I did the AP in Jan. 2006 and ended up saving several hundred $$. Would like to repeat that if possible!
