January 2008 Code Watch

OK - I went ahead and booked WL standard/MYW/DDP for 1/25-2/2 for DS' 16th birthday! Now for the code????LOL

Besides the so-called fall vacation package codes, does anyone anticipate or know of any room-only codes or ticket upgrades for January of 2008? We are visa disney card members and would love a room discount. If anyone knows of anything either historically or in the future with regards to the month of January, please share. Thank you:) Alison

Hi, am going to buy an AP when I go in Jan - does anyone know where i can find historic ap rates? Going to be there 9th-24th, an really want a code. Also, am i right in saying if i book now at rack rate, and pay a deposit and a code is released later I can just call up to have the discount put on my booking? And whats the deal with cancellations? Do you get your deposit back?
Thanks!!!!!!

I'm sure someone has already answered this but.....thought I'd ask again. Anyone know when January codes could be released? We're going Jan 16th -- 23rd and I have booked a 2 bedroom at Old Key West (on my DVC points).

But -- (and at this point in the planning conversation her eyes glaze over and gives me the look that says "just tell me where we are going to stay the week before) but we also always do our 5-6 nights each summer at Disney's Hilton Head and if we do that on cash it could cost a ton or we could rent a place on HHI instead but miss out on the Disney magic of our home resort so.....if a good code came out that was less for 2 rooms for 7 nights then what we would pay in July at HHI we would take it. I even have the vote for 2 rooms at POP if that were available. We're in the room so little at WDW that it seems like a better way to go if we want to take two trips in 2008.

Any ideas on dates for January codes???

Checking Mousesavers - January codes for 2007 came out on November 2, 2006 for the general public codes. AP rates for January came out the day before, November 1, 2006.

what were the codes like for Jan.. we have WL booked.. and would love to get a room only deal.. I don't care anything about free park hopper.. I know they offered that last year.. we already have our tickets.

I believe I paid $135.00 (plus tax) standard view room with AP rates for Jan. 1 - 3, 2007. This was a discount of $80.00 per night.

If it holds that January rates would come out in November....humm, I'm thinking about calling to see if I can get a AAA rate and at least hold on to the rooms then see about applying a better rate if it comes along. Not sure I want to front the deposit money for 2 rooms though.

Still thinking about just staying with my "free" DVC room and worrying about summer at HHI later. Decisions...decisions.

Subscribing!

Am just now starting to think about our mid-Jan trip. We went last year and got in on the specials that were released on 11/2, so I was kind of planning on doing that again this year.

Is that what most of you do?

Thanks!

Our trip is Jan 15-22nd I have a Question, We have triple A do we get a discount? Can this be combined with any other codes? Also I already paid a down payment, does that matter

You cannot combine codes. Is your room booked under AAA rate, or did you book at rack rate? I would call quickly and get it switched over if your dates are still available. The deposit will not be an issue, they will simply subtract that from your new total to get your balance.

I have POP booked for Jan 13-19 with AAA and my rate is just at $65.00 per night. I am seeing on this thread that sometimes if Disney comes out with a code it is better than the AAA discount. Does anyone have any info on past experiences regarding this? It seems to me that $65.00 is a pretty good rate and I wouldn't think it gets much lower than that. Just thought it would be worth asking. I'm always looking to save where I can. :goodvibes

You can book a AAA rate, if available; then when the AP rates come out they will switch it to that rate. But, last time my AAA rate was better than the AP rate so I left it with the AAA. Keep in mind that if they don't have any rooms available at a AAA rate or AP, you just get what they do have at rack rate. As long as you are flexible, they can usually find something that is agreeable, date or resort. It doesn't matter that you paid a deposit. They'll adjust it accordingly and apply it to the balance due either way.

Good Luck!

what was the package deal for last November when it came out to the public.. we are also going mid Jan 08

The code that came out last November included a package deal that included the dining plan and the "fully loaded" park tickets (water parks, hoppers, etc). I don't remember specifics...my memory is awful...but I know it was a package deal and I was thrilled that the dining plan was included. That worked out so nicely for us.

DOes that mean that the package had free dining???? If i have already booked a package that inlcudes dining and fully loaded tickets, that if a code comes out i will be able to apply the code and be reimbursed the difference?

No it did not include free dining. The promotion for last year was a free upgrade to park hopper and water parks and more. There was a little savings on the room also.

I really hope they change that promotion. When we went last year in Jan, the highs were in the 50's and one night it was 30 degrees:scared1: I don't think anyone was at that water park. It did include Disneyquest, but we never went there.
