January 2008 Code Watch

Subscribing, looking for a great rate Jan 27-30 for DD 5th birthday! Just a mom and daughter trip!!!!

I just got off the phone adjusting my reservation to CRT on January 4th from paid with credit card to meal plan credits and I was shoked at how many ressies they still have available for breakfast. If anyone needs one, call now! :thumbsup2

Just as an FYI, I made ADR's today for Jan 3-8 and had no problems at all getting my choicea of locations or times.

DH and I just decided to do a weekend trip in January for my b-day!
I would love to stay at WL, so am about to read every post on this thread to look for any disCounts.
About the AAA...do you need to be a AAA member or just have a code? Is the fee worth it for the discount you get on resort?

They can ask for your membership number when you book. They have asked me in the past. Also they tell you to have it ready when you check in as well just like AP. However the last 2 years they have been offering codes starting in Oct for Jan. to AP, Disney Visa cardmembers, FL Residents and general public codes which include free tickets upgrades to park hoppping and water parks.
Not sure about room only codes though.

You can book an AAA rate before having an AAA membership. If they ask for the number at booking just say you don't have the card with you. You will need the AAA card at check in but that gives you time to see if they offer a better discount through something else.

On a whim I called reservations to see if they could tell me anything regarding codes for January.
The woman said that there should be a Disney Visa deal coming in November but it would apply to travel dates at the end of January into February. She had no further information.

Too bad my dates are for the middle of January. :guilty:

Just got off the phone with a CM who told me I had a pincode for January/February...YEA! (Don't get jealous yet!) He then tried to price out mods, and told me whoops, this pin was for January/February of 2007. So I missed the dates, and couldn't use it.....BOO!!! Oh well, at least Disney has put me in their pincode system. Now what ARE the chances of me getting another?? oh well...such is life! :confused3

When I called a few weeks ago I needed my AAA membership number for the reservation to be switched over to AAA rate & was told I also need to present a copy of the card at check in. Maybe not all CM's ask for AAA membership number when you make your reservation but if I did not have the number he was not switching the reservation to AAA rate.

So you can just call reservations and just ask if there are any pincodes in your name?

That is correct! I also was told that if I didn't have my AAA number with me, than I couldn't book with a AAA rate. I think this is to prevent just what another post mentioned and booking with a AAA rate, when you don't even have a membership.

When I called to switch to AAA the person didn't ask for my number. I have a membership so it is no big deal but I guess it all depends on who you get on the phone. :lmao: I have been asked for it in the past as well and didn't have it with me and they would let me book the rate.

To me that's just a very wrong way of thinking and not fair to a AAA holder who is trying to reserve a room.

subscribing...will be there for the goofy marathon as a cheerleader for my daughter. All you marathoners out there -- what do you do the day of the races if anything?
