January 2008 Code Watch

Do you have to book through AAA to be eligible for the discount? We're not members, but I'm tempted to pay the membership fee if the discount can be applied to an existing ressie.
No, Solferino...I always call CRO and make my own reservations. I actually made them in January, 2007. When I heard here on this thread that 2008 rates and AAA rates were out, I just called and asked if AAA discount could be applied to my reservation. She said the discount was available for my dates and type of room and then asked for my AAA membership number. Later that night, the revised confirmation was in my email with the new LOWER price! Why don't you call CRO and what it would cost with the AAA discount? Then you could decide if it's worth it or not. Last year, we actually got a better discount with AAA than with our AP! :scared1: Good luck and hope you have a wonderful, DISCOUNTED vacation! ;)

Thanks for the info, that's helpful. :thumbsup2 I'm wondering if I should wait a bit longer to see if any codes come out (like being offered currently) and see which one I can get a greater discount with and go from there.

You can always book now and if codes come out you can call and have them applied or change your reservation. Just be sure to book no more than you are willing to pay in case the codes don't work for you.

A very good suggestion! :thumbsup2

I'm a college student hoping to go in January as it will be the only time I can afford to go. June is too expensive. My first visit was March 2007, and I can't wait to get back.

I hope I can get a good deal. Any help is appreciated.

hi =
we are going with 2 other groups of people - if one of them has AAA, can they apply it to all of our rooms? we are all family.....

i got 92 for the pop for jan, is that good?????

thanks, wendy

I know you can use AAA for 2 rooms, but I don't know if the discount will extend any more than that.

I'm so bummed! We have resrvations for a 2brm at VWL and they're only accepting AAA codes for 1brm. :( :( :( I'm so sad.

She said check back in Novemember for discounts and pin codes..

We used AAA on three rooms last Dec. I dont know if that has changed or not for this year. We got $65 per night in Jan at POP with our AAA discount. They said it was $82 rack rate so you must be going over a holiday weekend?

Yes, I also booked 3 rooms with my AAA card. We also paid $65 a night for All Star Music. We are going Jan.1-6.

I have a question I hope someone can answer. I booked rooms, basic park tickets, & meal plan through AAA- if final payment is mid November & code (if one comes out) for the park hopper/water parks - can I still add it? Dumb question, I know, but have never added anything after finaly payment with AAA.

i guess they consider friday night part of the weekend and that was why it was 92?????

its my mom who has the AAA - i should have her call, right? will she have to bring her card with her? our ressie goes from dec - jan,,,,so that covers 2 months - so would we get a different rate for each month?

I was just looking on Mousesavers.net and noticed that AP rates were out through Dec 23. Does this mean January rates could be out next month??

Hello,

thats the way it is looking, I haven't seen an exact date for when they will be released but that has been the trend from the information I have been watching....same for plane tickets too...isn't it frustrating having to keep waiting??!??:sad2:

It is my understanding that WDW can give AAA discounts on room only. If you want a package with a AAA discount on the room portion, you have to book through AAA. That is what we did. Our AAA agent can then apply any package deals that come down the road if they are a better savings than the AAA discount. You can't use both. If you booked a package through WDW, I don't think you can have a AAA discount applied. You either have to cancel and rebook through AAA or wait for the regular codes to come out end of October/early November and see what they offer.

wouldn't i loose all my ADR's if i cancel to rebook thru AAA?
just to be clear i can't get the discount on the room portion of the package right?

You can only get a discount as part of a package through AAA. You can always call and ask WDW just to be sure. As for your ADR's, no you will not lose them if you cancel. They are tied to your phone number and do not automatically cancel if you cancel your package.

I am hoping that a Disney Visa or general public code will come out later in the year that is better than the AAA discount.
