January 2007 reservation-MS could not add DDP

I made some res for January 2007 and asked for DDP--member services told me that the computers will not allow them to add the dining plan after Dec.
She suggested I call back.
I asked if Disney planned to end the DDP-she said no.

I am going in May/ June, and have already paid for my room at ASMO, on 12-02, I think, I am allowed to call for my ADRs. In Feb, I will call CRO, and turn my room only into a package, paying it off in full.

I am renting points for a stay in Feb. '07 and the owner told me that member services said that they do not know what they are doing with the dining plan for 2007 yet so they will not add it on. They said to call back in the fall, they should know by then.

I would assume you could make your ADR's before February you can do them 180days out which I believe would bring you to around Nov / Dec depending on when in May/June you are going because we are going in April for Easter and I can make my ADR's around October 12th, 2006! Just wanted to let you know in case you didn't realize this so you can make sure you get the ADR's you want!

You can still make your adrs without adding on the DDP. We usually don't call back to add it until a couple of weeks before our trip. I had read on the DVC boards that disney hasn't figured out what the 2007 price of the DDP is going to be yet. The new prices usually go in affect on Feb. 1.

We're arriving Jan 7, staying on points at BWV. Made all my ADR's. The only one in question was Chefs de France. They weren't sure if this restaurant was going to remain as part of the DDP. I went ahead and made a ressie for it, but might have to cancel if it drops out of the plan. So for those who loves this restaurant, you might want to make your ressies before the new year begins.

Package prices for 2007 haven't been released yet -- probably mid-August, but could be September. Right now you either have a room only reservation or a basic package reservation. Once 2007 package rates have been released, you can add tickets and dining package, but it will be at least another month before you can do that. You can go ahead and make ADRs without having the dining package.

I just confirmed with Member Services: DVC members cannot book the Dining Plan for 2007 yet.

Well I booked my DDP with DVC..Dec. 31-Jan. 6. Is it because one of my days is in 2006? I have already made ADRs and all.

Yes. If you check-in on December 31, the first ten days of your reservation follow 2006 "rules".

The reason why you couldn't get the Dining Plan at this time is because the package prices for 2007 aren't available yet. The room rates are all that are available at this time. Disney Customer Service told me that packages would be available at the end of July or beginning of August. At that time you can add your Disney Dining Plan and Magic Your Way Package if you wish.

I would check if I were you. If you were checking in as a DVC member anytime after January 1, Member Services seemed mightily sure that there is no way to add the Dining Plan to those reservations.

I got my reservation letter in the mail today for my stay in January and it has written right on the reservation that the dining plan is added.

I called today to add the dining plan to my trip in Oct and asked about the chance of booking it for Jan as well.

She told me they weren't booking them for 2007 yet as the prices hadn't been decided upon.

I wonder what they will charge the people that seem to have been able to book for Jan already?

I don't know....I booked my trip for January staying at BCV and told them I wanted the dining plan and they said okay it was all added. I had already made my ADR's earlier. I had this trip booked for a while but needed to make a change as to the number that would be in the room and asked about adding the dining plan. I got my new reservation confirmation and it is clearly typed on it that I have the dining plan. They also quoted me a price for the 3 people on the dining plan but that wasn't on the reservation. I'm not sure what the difference could be.

When I last spoke with MS she indicated that Disney had decisions to make besides price.
I would imagine they will try to close loopholes and put some safeguards in place to help prevent cheating.
