January 2007 reservation-MS could not add DDP

I also would like to know how trvlr got the ddp added? I called yesterday, and last week and was told I could not add them yet. They have no codes to add those things for 07. I booked basic july 2 and have been checking back every week since. Last I was told packages wont be out until mid-end sept, so I am curious as to how they got it added when all CM's are saying cannot.

I'm not sure if you are trying to book a package at one of the resorts with the dining plan added but what I booked was my stay at one of the DVC resorts and added the dining plan to my reservation. Maybe this is why they let me book it...it's not tied into the price. My room is with my points and the dining plan I have to pay for when I get there so maybe it doesn't matter what the price will be. That is the only thing I can think of that might be the reason why it's on my reservation.

Ok I really would like to have disney travel explain why some are able to go ahead and get their ddp. I have been calling since start of july and keep getting told cannot book yet. Is this only for vacation club members?

Well glad to hear that someone else has also been able to add the dining plan! I was beginning to think I was mistaken...but I had in right in front of me in writing.

You have to remember that DVC resort stays on points and non-point DVC resort stays are really 2 different things. With DVC stays where the guest is either using their own points or renting, there is no room costs for the stay that get paid directly to the resort because the guest is using the points to pay for it.

As someone else mentioned, perhaps they were able to add it on because of that. Once you arrive when staying on DVC points you just need to pay for the package, not the room at that point.

I have it written on my reservation but no there isn't a price on it. When I talked to MS he added the plan and told me the price it would be for the 3 of us. He quoted me the 37.99 price but if that goes up then I'm sure I will be paying the new amount.

I'd be more concerned if I was one of the people for whom it was "added". I'd bet that all the CM did was put a notation on the reservation, which is as meaningful as any room request. Just my suspicion, but I'd sure hate to arrive on check-in day only to learn that I cannot get the Dining Plan because my request was not honored, because it was put into the system too early. I'd recommend folks check back with Member Services after the 2007 prices are announced, to "really" book the Dining Plan for their trip. YMMV.

I too would call to check just to be on the safe side. When I called they said they couldnt book it or tell me anything about how 2007 will be cause they do not even have the codes for it yet. This was said last week. The lady said they just HEAR things, but that disney does not tell them anything. They know what is going on once the codes hit their comps then they get the information. As of last week they had no codes and no information on it. Double check just to be on the safe side.

I always call back to reconfirm any reservations I have a few weeks ahead of time ... so there won't be any problem when I check in. So I guess it is irrelevant whether the dining plan is actually added on my reservation or not. One way or another I will have it...whether it be now or later.

I would check if I were you. If you were checking in as a DVC member anytime after January 1, Member Services seemed mightily sure that there is no way to add the Dining Plan to those reservations.

I know that we are not DVC, but my TA also has not been able to add the DDP to our reservation. He said that the prices are not set for 2007. We will add when the packages and prices are out.
