We will be on the Wonder for the 7-night Southern Caribbean RT San Juan cruise on January 14, 2018.
The Itinerary will be Antigua, St Lucia, At Sea, Curacao, Aruba, At Sea. We are looking forward to this new itinerary (for us), a few days in San Juan and getting out of the cold in January.

Being Platinum, we can begin to make Palo and Excursion reservations in about two weeks. Would like any information on the following:
  • If you have done a 7-night SC, what night was Pirate Night? On a sea day or in a port?
  • We have been to Antigua before so will probably take a cab to a beach. The other three ports--St Lucia, Curacao and Aruba--are new to us (two adults, no kids). We like both sightseeing and beach time, especially snorkeling off the beach. Does anyone have any recommendations for excursions--either through DCL or Independent--in those three ports? Were there any of those ports that you enjoyed just walking around for all or part of the day?
Thank you!

These are completely new itineraries so no one knows which night things will be. You should be able to call and find out what night is pirate night, formal night and semi formal night. If you find out, please post.

Although the January 14th itinerary may be new, DCL has already done a number of SC itineraries; was wondering whether Pirate Night was a sea da or not on those. Also, looking for any DCL or private excursions DISers might recommend from any visits to St Lucia, Curacao or Aruba. Thanks for the suggestion to call DCL.

In the past, the Magic did the 7 night Southern Caribbean. Pirate night was night 4 (St. Lucia port day).

Chances are good that the Wonder will mirror that. But it's also possible it won't.

Highly recommend Bully in Aruba - http://www.arubabound.com/transp/bully.htm. Our cruise did Bonaire instead of Curacao and when we visited St. Lucia roads had been washed out from a storm so we were only able to walk around near the port....sorry I can't help you with those ports. SC is a great cruise though, enjoy!

We have been to Aruba before in 2008 and at that time, we just walked off the ship and booked an island tour with a taxi. It was really neat and a fun way to see the island (if you get a good one, I think?). This time around we are doing Trikes Aruba, they get high marks on trip advisor.

St. Lucia, in 2014 we took Joy Adventure Cruises. It was a fantastic day to see the sites and not travel the roads inland, as they used boats to go around the island. I sometimes get car sick in winding roads. Would highly recommend them.

Curacao, we are doing another private tour with Andy from Around Curacao tours.

Can anyone comment on the ease with which you can grab a cab to a beach in Aruba, Antigua, St. Lucia, Bonaire? Thank you!

Since you seem to be nearing your booking date, I believe that it will show which night is Pirate Night on the booking days. Usually, formal and semi-formal nights are on the sea days.

No, today is booking day and it doesn't indicate which night will be Pirate Night. Still would like to know what night it was on previous 7-night Southern cruises.

Also, still interested in any other ideas for Aruba. Thanks

Did you check "Onboard Fun" to see when BBB is Pirate League? That's usually the best indication.
