January 15, 2011 - Magic

Hey everyone,
I just saw my PM from accola and she was asking about email addresses for people because she could only send 5 messages at a time. This reminded me of my last cruise and we became friends on FB. This was an easier way to communicate espicially when it came time to organize the FE. Just putting this out there to see if anyone is interested.

I was thinking a yahoo group or something might be nice. I'm on Facebook a lot so that would work for me.

My new swimsuit arrived today. It's freezing cold here and I'm trying on a swimsuit. LOL It was on clearance *really* cheap. The things I will do for a good deal. LOL

I just booked this tonight. It will be myself and my DH, an early celebration of our 31st anniversay. We are interested in the Fish Extender. I have not had time to read all the thread yet so I don't know who is in charge. This is my 11th Disney Cruise. I am taking 9 & 10 BTB in December on the Wonder. If you can send me a message on who to contact for the FE we want to get signed up. Look forward to meeting everyone.

Hi all!

I've been MIA lately. Things are getting crazy here getting ready for the upcoming Holidays. I know I'm going to need this vacation in January.

I ended up driving to TN in the middle of October to pick up a second embroidery machine and hopefully that will allow me to have some family time in December. :rotfl2:

I just asked my kids about the scavenger hunt in the terminal and they both are in! I can't remember who is heading this up, but I have some pictures of the terminal if you would like me to email them to you.

We are also looking at booking the Mexican Rivera for January next year. Although it won't be the same cruising on DCL without Castaway Cay.

Well - I'd better get back to work.

Have a great day everyone!

Re: Facebook. On my home page there is a icon to set up a group. But so far it isn't working. I think I come up as Melisa (Lisa Galba) Colburn.

(I would check your setting for privacy if you post your name here.)

I got a Facebook group going. "DISboarders Magic Jan 15" You can friend me too if you like my full name is posted above.

You can friend me. My name is Teresa Martineau West. Just put you are from the Dis boards so I will accept the request.

Just realized from your signature that we were on the same Eastern cruise in 2007. :goodvibes And then in 2009 we got on the afternoon you got off.

That is funny. I guess my family is not the only one that likes to sail at this time of year. We like it because it is cheaper than other times of the year and it gets us away from the Michigan winter. How many Disney cruises have you been on?

Same for us in Wisconsin - cheaper and always warmer than home! The kids have been on two - Jan 2007 and Jan 2009. We (DH / DW) went on a 3-day in Dec 2009 because we got the bounce back offer. We weren't really planning on the Dec '09 one - thought a 3-day was kind of short to pay for airfare for the kids and we had just been to WDW in January for a few days before that crusie. At some point we realized we could go during our anniversay :confused3 , so we left the kids at home :rolleyes1 and went for our 10th Anniversary on a 3-day with the Wonder. This will be the first cruise that we will have a different cabin number though :scared1: :rotfl:.

My husband and I also went on a Wonder cruise for our 10 yr anniversary. It was the 4 day though. We enjoy cruising and we think Disney does a great job, so we figured why not. We felt strange doing a Disney Cruise w/o the kids, but we had fun anyway.

Great work guys! Love the facebook idea :)

Now if i could only figure out what to do about my flight this vacation would be all set! I booked my flight when i booked the cruise and now all the airlines are doing a seat sale (they are all within 50$ of each other) The difference for me is 475$ cheaper but there is a 300$ cancellation fee...still worth it but i'm debating who to actually fly with(not to mention if i had waited i would have saved the entire 475$)HINDSITE lol. I should realy stop looking to see if it keeps going cheaper, i'm getting myself stressed out.

It's almost vacation time :woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

It's been a hectic couple of weeks but when things get to be a bit much, I remember that we'll all be sailing in the warm sunshine on a lovely ship with great service and time for relaxation and lots of fun very, very soon. Can't wait!!! :cool1:

I'll put together a list soon for people who would like the Scavenger Hunt sheets. I'll look through posts and see who's expressed an interest. :dance3:

Are we planning an organized meet of any kind? Maybe for the kids if the adults aren't interested in meeting? I'd be willing to work on that if others would like to do that. Maybe all the kids that are pen pals will plan their own thing. :cheer2:

Have fun dreaming and planning for the cruise!! :cloud9:

Sharon

Scavenger hunt sound fun.

Belle091507 You must have been the person who ended up with the reservation for brunch I was trying to get. :-) When I hit save (or whatever) it came back that it was not available. I'll try when we board.

The St John Island Tour was already gone. :-( I think ds7 will like Coral World better anyway.

We are trying onboard also. They hold back some for people who are not able to book online.

Alright, a few weeks ago I found this sight and read through a few posts but didn't post anything. This is our first Disney Cruise (first cruise ever). My husband, son (7) and daughter (5) will be on the cruise with me. The kids are so excited (but I think I may be more excited than them).

We are interested in the FE. I don't know what I need to do to sign up for it. And I'd like to find out more about the scavenger hunt. I read through most of the posts but may have missed the initial one with the explanation.

thanks for helping this newbie out!!

Welcome ! :yay:

I'm keeping track of the Fish Extender listing - consider yourself signed up :thumbsup2 I will send you some additional information regarding it yet tonight - I'm sure you'll be :surfweb:.

Our family of 3 Amanda (mom), Tim (dad) and Nate (11yo) are anticipating a great cruise week. Though Nate may not be interested in a pen pal, he would like to know of other similar aged kids likely to enroll in the Edge. Last year he enjoyed the Lab, and I'd feel much better if he had some buddies to hang with (boys and girls) for his foray into greater independence around the ship.

Please include us in the scavenger hunt and fish extender groups, and let us know of your Edge-bound kids. We'll see you at the Scavenger Hunt and for registration at the Edge!
