January 15, 2011 - Magic

Are we planning an organized meet of any kind? Maybe for the kids if the adults aren't interested in meeting? I'd be willing to work on that if others would like to do that. Maybe all the kids that are pen pals will plan their own thing. :cheer2:

Sharon

I'd love to meet up with everybody. I have no clue how to arrange something like that. Maybe an experienced cruiser can help out?

Are we going to pick a name for our group? I've seen some fun names from other groups.

Sure - let's meet up. Many folks tend to meet on Saturday around 3:00p at Diversions (sports bar) or Promenade Lounge (deck 3). I have also seen some meets at the port at 11:30. This would be a great way for the kids to connect, too.:grouphug:

I am probably most anxious about my daughters making friends with which to play/hang out with in the clubs. Once we know that they're happy and having fun - Julie and I are set for the week! :cool1:

Just realized the Dream will be on Good Morning America this morning and I have the day off with the kids - was telling my 6yr. old son Benjamin pirate: we'll have to watch it.

He apparently thinks he should have a friend on the cruise :dance3: like his sister. He says, "Who should we pick?" If you have someone interested in being "picked" :lmao: let us know. He says - ask what is their name.

We're always up for a meet - just let us know time / place.

Really crazy excited over here, already looking to book the Mexican cruise for next year anyone looking at that one as well? We are staying at the Port Orleans for 4 nights prior to the cruise, so DH and I will be very much looking forward to some quiet relaxing time while our kids are at the Clubs!! I am loving the idea that another mom posted about the Mickey Ears countdown!! I am running to Home Depot now to get the Mickey paint samples!! Our excursions are booked and I am sure that they will be great as long as I get to enjoy the sun and the ocean waves!! I am slightly worried about the water at Castaway Cey being a little cool, but are Canadians so I am sure we can handle it!!! LOL!!! Looking forward to meeting the wonderful people that are on here, as we are all doing the everything we can to make this a vacation to remember for our families!!!

Hello!

We are looking forward to our very first Disney cruise...it's going to be extra special as my husband's entire family is coming and there will be 26 of us in all! party:

Our family is arriving from Comox, BC and we would like very much to participate in the FE exchange!

Wow!!! we are leaving from Victoria!!! when do you guys fly out? we are leaving the island on the 11th as we are doing disney first!

Maybe there are only a few of us because we don't have a wacky name for our thread like others I've seen.

We booked this cruise so much later than usual and this year has seemed to just fly by! I'm sure we're all super busy so we'll need some relaxation by January. I can't think of a better way to relax and have fun at the same time. :dance3:

Are any of you going to WDW before or after we sail? Our DD is in 5th grade and once kids are in Middle School here in our district in Michigan, it's very difficult to take them out for extended travel during the school year. So, since this might be our last get-away-from-the-frozen-tundra trip for a while, we're going head to Orlando the Wednesday before and spend a few days at the World. I booked a room at Pop Century a few days ago and the rooms went on sale yesterday - called back and they gave me the new rate. It's incredibly affordable if anyone is thinking about doing that. We will utilize the Magical Express when we arrive at the airport - love that  - and then ride a towncar to and from the port. At least, that's our plan right now. :cool2:

I saw a thread about having a Scavenger Hunt at the port terminal so kids would have something to do while we're waiting to board. We like to get there pretty early to get a good boarding number. I think we have some pictures of the model and the waiting area so we could put something together if anyone's interested in doing that. (Watch them remodel the whole area after we plan a hunt. :rotfl:)

We are doing Disney on Wednesday - Friday before the Cruise as well... First timers for everything here, but already looking to book the Mexican cruise for next year!!

Hi Googie,

our daughter will be 5 1/2 and would be so happy to have a friend, especially to hang with in the kids club. Not sure how we would go about meeting up but I think we are going to sign up for the fish extenders and scavenger hunt so perhaps we can meet then?

Our daughter will be 6 on the day that we leave and I know that she would love to meet some other little "princesses" to play with!!

Okay, total newbie at this

Would love to join the FE - please count us in!

Also, looking for buddies for our two: son Téo is 7 1/2, daughter Summer is 5 1/2.

cheers!!!

sorry about two seperate reply, but I just noticed your son's age and our son is 8 ( birthday in Sept) and our daughter will be 6 the day that we leave! They would love to meet some new friends!!

Is there a Diser on this cruise that has been assigned cabin number 7541 or 6543? If not, is there a way to see if these two cabins are being held in GTY?

We would like to get the scavenger hunt sheet too :)

I find I am constantly checking our reservation to see if we have a cabin assignment yet. Has anyone else with a GTY cabin been given a cabin number?

RALSMOM - hello! That is great news:) Can you PM me and maybe we can set something up? Perhaps we can request to be at the same dinner table one night??? Cheers! Oh, we are Canadians too - coming from T.O :)

croppincolburn - sounds great! Would love to get the boys to meet (ours will be 7.5 too!) Can you PM me? I can't seem to PM - not enough posts yet apparently?

It's been a hectic couple of weeks but when things get to be a bit much, I remember that we'll all be sailing in the warm sunshine on a lovely ship with great service and time for relaxation and lots of fun very, very soon. Can't wait!!! :cool1:

I'll put together a list soon for people who would like the Scavenger Hunt sheets. I'll look through posts and see who's expressed an interest. :dance3:

Have fun dreaming and planning for the cruise!! :cloud9:

We would like to be part of the meet! I would suggest onboard because everyone arrives at different times depending on how they are getting to port
