January 12, 2013 Eastern on the Fantasy

For anyone interested, I'm going to cancel family cabana #17 today. My parents aren't coming on the cruise and I thought it would be too much for just my daughter and me. This way we aren't tied down to the cabana all day anyway. Hope it makes someone else really happy :)

I'm sure someone will be grateful to you for that.
We were unable to get anyone willing to share a Cabana on the Adults-only side. We will probably just tour the island, depending on the weather, and maybe use the onboard pools (assuming they will be less busy while we are docked at Castaway Cay) -
I did book the personal watercraft tour, but that should only take about an hour:)

Has anyone had experience travelling with Babies on DCL previously? We are trying to figure out how much food my daughter will have to pack for the girls. They will be 7 months old this month, and turn 8mth's the last day of our cruise. She currently makes her own baby foods for them, but by Jan. 1st, will have graduated to the mixed foods. I understand DCL will steam and blend veggies for her. Will they do things like blend together a pasta and steamed veggies, or a meat and steam veggies?

WOW -
Good luck with that JustTJ.
We have not traveled with infants since 1982!
(& most of those trips were via automobile).:goodvibes

I hope someone can answer your question.
Have you called the DCL folks?

DCL is SO GREAT!! I just got off the phone with a Fabulous CM who shared in the excitement with me :hippie: She said the kitchen staff will puree whatever we want them to! Veggies, meats, fruit, pasta, whatever! This really reduces the amount of supplies my daughter needs to bring!
Just in conversation I happened to mention it was my daughter's and soninlaw's, honeymoon cruise, and she stopped me mid conversation and said very excitedly "It's Their HONEYMOON CRUISE????!!!!" Then said she needed to note that on the reservation! She was Super!
Now I did have to wait after dialing for a good 15 minutes before I was able to speak to someone, but it was all worth it!
I can't WAIT for this cruise! 26 days we leave our driveway and I'm then ON VACATION! :yay:

That is great! When we took DS for his first cruise, he was 9 months old. I took everything under the sun and way over packed, it was quite funny to watch. I had a month's supply of everything, we didn't have room to move in our stateroom. But, we had a wonderful time, he loved everything and it was the best vacation to take a baby on. Everyone from our servers to cabin steward were great to work with, especially when I had to leave dinner early one night. They packed my dinner up and had it brought to the stateroom for me. Our cabin steward made sure that we had everything that we needed.

Now I am excited.
That , and the fact that Les Miserables comes to theaters on Dec. 25.
(WOW - gonna be a great Christmas Season):goodvibes

THIS! haha
Probably gonna see it about 15 times when it comes out.

As is everyone else, I am super excited! Time better move faster! Up until we get on that is :)

Hey Cruiseman -

My DS just landed on the left coast this afternoon ; he has work at Lompoc.
He flies back home on 12/23.

I'm with you on speeding the clock up, just until we board. then we can slow the pace for some serious R&R.:cool1:

Only 25 Days to go:dance3:

Hello everyone! My DH and I will be first time cruisers on this cruise. We are from Michigan and we have 3 kids (19, 17 and 9 years old), however, they will NOT be joining us as we will be celebrating my birthday on January 11th and our 20th anniversary on the 16th, while we are in Puerto Rico!! Yay!!! :cool1: Any tips would be greatly appreciated! :)

Welcome baddogchalet! Welcome to the cruise and welcome to the Disboards! It sounds like you will have some lovely events to celebrate. We are a couple with grown children who are cruising by ourselves. This will be our second Disney cruise and we are really looking forward to it. I'm not sure how well you've been able to check out the boards, but they're a great source of information, especially the tips on organization and activities. We're looking forward to exploring Old San Juan, but I'm not sure what we'll do on St. Thomas yet. I hope that you have a wonderful time. Who knows? Perhaps we'll meet.

We are also cruiser with grown children. This will be our 7th cruise so we are well on our way to platinum

Welcome! We did the same thing last January (although our anniversary was in August, which is a lot harder to get away)for our 20th cruise, it was a lot of fun!

We, too, have grown children (& a new 8-month old GrandDaughter), and we will be cruising without them on this one. Just "Nonna & Poppa" on this one:)

Our DS and his GF are joining us after the cruise, for a week at WDW, in a 2-BR unit at SSR:cool1:

We look forward to cruising with you,
This is our 1st-time with Disney, but 12th cruise overall

HAPPY HOLIDAYS Fellow Cruisers:santa:

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! Just wondering two things. I see people are meeting at the atrium on embarkation day. I was wondering if that was for anyone in this group or just for the FE people (I just found this board yesterday and it is too late to sign up for FE and I am not sure I should commit to that undertaking on my first ever cruise)? Also, wondering if anyone is going on the longer El Yunque Rainforest hike and waterfall adventure in PR or the Best of St Thomas Island and shopping tour? Coming up in just about 3 weeks!! Yay:cheer2:::yes:::cool1:
