I would love to be packing, but for Rob and the dogs (yes, the neurotic dogs:scared1:), I am holding off for a couple more weeks, which is killing me!!! However, the week between Christmas and New Years, the packing is on and no one (furry or not)will get in my way!

I'm with you. We now have two huskies. One I know will get neurotic/depressed when I start packing. I have no idea how the other one will handle it but she takes her cues from the first one. So imagine it won't be a pretty sight.

I meant skijoring. It's cross country skiing but you have dog(s) sort of pulling you. Their line is actually supposed to be taught without actually pulling full force.

OK - thanks for the explanation.

Our last dog was a Pomeranian - would have been a tough assignment for him;)

Several years ago, however, we had a 100# Black Lab, who could have pulled me & the DW, without breaking a sweat.:goodvibes

We are at the 6 -week mark:cool1:

Everybody ready for the Holidays ??

We are 1/2 ready for the holidays, outside stuff up and going to get the tree today from the concrete forest. We used to go and cut ours down locally, but the trees that we were using caused allergy flare ups with me and DS. Unfortunately, we don't have enough time in our schedules to head up to the mtns to cut one down, so its off to the concrete forest.

Good luck with your tree search.
We used to cut fresh trees when the kids were little -
but the artificial tree we have now is so easy to put up, and it rotates, and is pre-litpixiedust: (makes life a lot easier):goodvibes

We haven't begun to pack. Probably won't before Jan. I give those who have alot of credit. What is everyone packing for Jan weather?

On the FE, does anyone know where the list splits? I'm not on facebook so just want to make sure we get the info here too. thanks

January weather in the islands is usually nice:beach:; but in WDW it can be hit-or-miss.:confused3
We are struggling with the right mix of clothes to last us both weeks, and not increase our luggage count:goodvibes

Luggage can be a challenge. Fortunately, we're flying Southwest but I still don't want to have to manage too many bags if it can be avoided.

We are travelling from MCO to San Diego to visit our children for a week post cruise. So we could literally be encountering a wide range of temperatures over the course of this trip - starting from NJ.

I think I'm going to have to wait to pack. there's no way to predict this.

Got our cruise documents and luggage tags in the mail today :) It is all getting closer and real. Prepaid gratuities today too. That much less to worry about. Only 40 more days :)

YES -
We got our DCL packet today, also:cool1:
Not a lot of luggage tags, but I prefer these to the paper ones you have to print on other cruise lines.

Now I am excited.
That , and the fact that Les Miserables comes to theaters on Dec. 25.
(WOW - gonna be a great Christmas Season):goodvibes

I'm excited about Les Miserables too. I haven't seen the rating yet but was hoping to take my daughter to see it on Christmas if in the PG - PG13 range. Too bad it isn't a Disney movie we can see on the boat

Thanks so much Denise :thumbsup2 I didn't think I'd be able to load a PDF document into facebook, but it worked, so that saves me emailing everyone :)
But if anyone does need it emailed, send me a pm here or on FB and I shall get on it :thumbsup2

Did everyone here that wanted name tags or the full size cruise logo, get it yet? I hope I'm not missing anyone that made the request :)

Yay we too received our docs for the first half of the vacay today :thumbsup2,
Now let the packing begin, and now the real excitement also begins,

The last time we did the caribbean in January with Disney on The Magic we were in WDW for a week prior. It was FREEZING in WDW but was beautiful on the cruise. We had been watching the weather to make sure and what we ended up doing was ship a box home with all our coats, scarves, gloves etc. Since we bought lots of goodies in WDW while we were there and didnt want to haul them around we shipped those items home too. It was way cheaper than paying airline overage fees (which we would've had with the stuff webought) and by clearing up room in our luggage from the winter wear we made more room for stuff to buy on the cruise. Just a thought...

We did a Nov '09 Eastern cruise on the Magic and had a mixed bag of weather. It was cold in PC, but as soon as we passed the Bahamas, the weather warmed up nicely, 80's in St Croix and St Thomas. In Jan '12, we left home in coats and went to shorts in Florida. It was upper 70-80's entire cruise, but flew home to 50's in NC. Hoping that we have similiar weather this time around in Florida, I know that ST and SJ will be warm, at least. But who cares, my kids and I swam all the way up the West Coast to Canada (50 in Victoria and Vancouver), if we have a heated pool, then we are in the water.

FE participants for both groups, Please NOTE:
There are two separate gifting families in One stateroom, 6160. Those gifting one per stateroom, if it's a keepable item, please consider gifting two gifts to this stateroom. :)

Jenpink - it's rated PG-13
(Go to IMDB.com, search Les Miserables, and there are several trailers there, and it lists the rating)

Holiday Parties at work start this week (Office level Breakfast AND Group level lunch tomorrow):goodvibes
Putting me in the Holiday Spirit -- gonna carry it all the way through January, as a result of this cruise :cool1:

Only 38 Days to go.....:thumbsup2

Great. We'll be sure to go then :)

For anyone interested, I'm going to cancel family cabana #17 today. My parents aren't coming on the cruise and I thought it would be too much for just my daughter and me. This way we aren't tied down to the cabana all day anyway. Hope it makes someone else really happy :)
