Jane E.'s Fitness Journal

WTG on the one pound!! You are sooooo close!!!! I finally saw the 49.6 number again today so I really have to behave this weekend.

The buffalo chicken sandwich is soooooooooo good-it's definitely a quick easy favorite in our house. In face DH and I were talking last night that we need more buffalo wing sauce so we can have it again.

I hope your back feels better soon.

Hi Jane-

I'm sorry I've been absent from your journal for so long. Wow, you are almost in the 140s!! Hang in there, you'll get there!!

I missed posting here today! We've been having problems with our computer modem. It overheats and then shuts down. I phoned today, the cable company agreed, but we won't get a new modem until next Tuesday. Dh disconnected the modem for me but apparently I wasn't any good at reconnecting it. I wasn't able to get an internet connection. (I'm terrible with copy machines too.) Dh reconnected it for me tonight.

Today's weight was 152. Ugh!!!! The Girl Scout cookies are here!!! I need to get a handle.

Today our family had a big medical emergency. I'm totally worn out. Its been a long long day for me.

Saturday I had a protein shake for breakfast, LC meal for lunch, SO key lime pie - snack pudding cup. For dinner ds & his wife came over for quesadillas - I had one lowfat one with 2 glasses of Squirt!!! :confused3 and a mocha bar

Sunday - I didin't eat until dinner time. We had friends over. I went to the store and bought more chicken!!! We'd promised them a fajita dinner. The husband had never had fajitas before. He loved them. I got the big white flour burrito tortillas and the husband had TWO!!! He loved them. My friend kept saying she should fix them for her family. Incidentally, she's lost like 10lbs. She's not over weight - she's always been thin but the past year gained an exta 10lbs. She looks thin again - must be a size 8.

I ate 1 fajita w/cheddar cheese - so good!!!! Love that full fat cheddar! Didn't realize how much I missed it! Also had carrot & celery stix w/lowfat dip. 2 glasses of champagne & 1 Skinny Cow.

Today I was so stressed out that I didn't eat until dinner time. I made the Sante Fe Chicken Soup. It was wonderful. I love spicy soups anyway. Of course I spiced mine up a little more than called for. I only used 2 chicken breasts but in addition to the regular recipe added sauteed green peppers, jalapenos, tomatoes & fiesta corn. I love this recipe.

I couldn't believe it took 30 minutes for the brown rice. That set me back a little. I love the fact that the corn tortillas are cut into slices, placed on a cookie tray & browned without any fat at all. It works!! It tasted delicious in the soup. Before when I made the recipe I used olive oil to saute the corn tortillas in. This I like much betteer. Its faster, less fat & tastes good. Also, cilantro & salsa are the garnish, and I love cilantro. I also put green onions with it for dh because he loves green onions. Neither of us like sour cream so I didn't use that - but it look nice in the picture.

Today I had one bowl of soup, oj and about 8 girl scout cookies - 6 Samoas & 2 the new Cafe ones.

No workout today.

Amy, I bet your kids would love the fajitas with lots of shredded cheese. My older son hates peppers & onions too but loves them plain with cheese & a little salsa and sour cream. I'd like to make the extra spare room a workout room. As it stands now I workout in different rooms depending on what I'm doing. It would be great to have everything finally centralized. We can do this, Amy - its just getting hard because we're at the midway point & leading stressed filled lives!!! We will do this. I'm grateful to be stagnating at a size 12 instead of where I was a year ago.

Beth, I love the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich. Its sooo good. Great job on hitting below 150lbs!!! I'm right behind you!

Heather, thanks for stopping by. It's great hearing from you!

Hey Jane,

You're doing good, that scale will go down soon, I'm sure!

Your recipes always sound so good - I love spicy things too, but most of my family doesn't. I was thinking this morning of making some spicy southwestern soup and keeping it just for me for lunches.

That would be nice to have a special workout room. We're so crowded here with all the kids I have to go outside or to the gym to have enough space!

Have a good day! :sunny:

I hope everything is OK with your family emergency! :grouphug:

That soup sounds great! When I come back, I am going to be recommitted to making 1-2 new recipes per week. That way I won't get bored with food, but still be able to eat healthy.

I am with you - I guess I should be glad that I am hovering and not gaining. As much as I have been eating, that is a blessing!

Don't you love those Samoas? I had 5 of them over the weekend and have been scared to open the box (there's no stopping at 1 with those awesome things!)

You have come so far, soon you will be in 8's like your friend! :cheer2:

I wore shorts on my walk today! :bounce: First time I've worn shorts in two years. 150.8

Today I did 25 minutes of walk jogging.

Breakfast today was a banana, oj
lunch today - sante fe chicken soup

My poor kitty was sick today right as I started posting. I had taken her in for her yearly physical this morning. Got home and about 2 hours later she started throwing up. I took her back to the vet and they gave her Benedryl and a shot to calm her stomach. I've been busy.

Mom's on her way over I promised to make her a quesadilla. I think she'll love'em.

Kate, I love your new picture. Its a great photo of the two of you. You look so thin!

Amy, those Samoas are too tempting. I really can't stop eating them. At least the tagalongs are too rich, and its impossible to eat that many. Most of our cookies are gone now - the Thin Mints don't tempt me. We're going to do great until the next holiday!!!

YEAH on the shorts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to try some shorts on this season!!

Oooh, I really like the Thin Mints! I like them all... :rolleyes1

Congrats on the shorts! That is GREAT! :cheer2:  :cool1: :thumbsup2 :yay:

Your eating (sans cookies) looks a lot better, I think those 140's are right around the corner! :wizard:

Did your mom like the quesadillas?

Wow--this is EXACTLY what happened to Diana! They said it was because she was allergic to some part of her shot. I felt so bad for her! I hope QT bounces back quickly. :wizard:

You're doing so well! Congrats on getting into the shorts! Doesn't that feel great! Keep it up!

I woke up with flu symptoms today - sore throat, aches, dizziness. I stayed in bed, did tons of reading & relaxed until about 5pm. I think the stress of the past two days caught up with me. My weight was 151lbs.

Yesterday I had two more bowls of soup, lf cheese & 6 of the cafe cookies.
This morning I had oj for breakfast
soup & a banana for meal #2
soup and an apple for meal #3
pasta for meal #4
2 thin mints & one cafe cookie - (dh was eating them so I nabbed some)

Also lots of lemon water & hot sauce today too.

I decided to make a quickie pasta dish for dinner. I happened to have frozen peppers & onions which usually my grocery store does not carry. They featured a recipe that had this product so last week they had it. Thankfully! I used that, penne pasta, a jar of spicy red pepper spaghetti sauce, canned diced tomatoes, lf cottage cheese, wf shredded cheddar but just about 1/2C for the whole recipe & grated parmesan on top.

I threw it together quickly and as I was taking it out of the oven ds and his wife stopped by. They stayed and had dinner over here.

Beth, the shorts were a big deal for me. I'm glad that I can finally wear them again. My outdoor workout will be a lot cooler without long pants!

Amy, my mom loved the quesadillas. She ate 3/4 of it which is a lot for her. She took the last 1/4 home to warm up for dinner. Thanks for your support - in helping me to get down to 149! This has now become my magic number!

Pearliq, thats what they told me too. I felt horrible since I was the one who corraled her into her carrying case in the first place. The poor thing had both ends going. Thankfully, most of it was on tile. The vet told me that they'll mark her file so this doesn't happen next year. Its a good thing I stayed home and didn't go anywhere afterwards because she didn't exhibit symptoms until 2 hours after her shots. I'm happy I've made it to shorts - now I just what to get to 149!!!

Hi Jane - WooHoo Congrats on the shorts!!!

Hope you're feeling better! :sunny:

It's a good thing the vet can give her a different shot next year so the kitty doesn't have another reaction. Poor thing!

I fully expect you to be at 149 OR LESS when I get back from my cruise! Those GS cookies can't last forever... :goodvibes

I'm sorry to hear you weren't feeling well. I hope that you are back to 100% soon!

:cheer2: Feel better soon-I'm speakin from experience the flu isn't fun at all!! You can get to the magic number I know you can!! :cheer2:

I did my upper body workout today.
Meals:
#1 1/2 banana
#2 pasta dish, mocha bar
#3 pasta dish, SO strawberry shortcake
#4 apple juice, lf moz cheese (2)

I'm still sore - body aches but otherwise I'm feeling a little better. I did my workout as I watched The Biggest Loser. Its so motivating to watch them. They lose so much weight in such a short time!!! I've gotta netflix that dvd.

Thank you, Kate. I've got to concentrate and get back to basics - I want that 149!

Amy, I think what the vet meant was that they'd give QT benedryl and anti nausea shots before her regular shots next year. Last year, since she was a baby, she had her shots spaced out every couple of weeks. This year they gave them all to her at once & she didn't adjust well. Wouldn't that be great if you got back from your cruise and I was 149 and HOLDING!!!!?! So far today no GS cookies!

Beth, this flu has been going around and around. Everyone I know seems to have had a variation of it. I can't wait until its gone. Thanks for your support for me getting to the 140s!!

150.2!! I'm s l o w l y getting there!!

Still feeling achey and sick with the flu. I'm still a little dizzy.

#1 chicken soup w/habanaro sauce
#2 nachos - jalapeno peppers, strawberry lemonade
#3 5 pieces of dark chocolate, 1 tsp hot sauce

Took Mom out shopping, and then we went for lunch. She loves the nachos at Chili's so we went there. I made sure to eat all of the jalapenos that came on the nachos.

My big temptation this weekend is party food. We have a big birthday party this weekend. We'll be celebrating 3 birthdays all together. Since one of the days is dh's we don't have to bring any food! We're having a cookout - I should sneak in a veggie burger for myself.

ok, that .2 will be gone soon, and then you'll be officially 149. something!!!

Sorry you're still feeling YUK and hope you can enjoy the weekend (but not overdo the food!) :sunny:

I'm sorry you are still sicK i REALLY hope you were able to enjoy the weekend.

I worked yesterday feeling woozy & achey all day. I didn't do any workout but got in plenty of cardio running around at work!

#1 sausage burrito, 1/2 cinamon roll, 7up
same, 7up
#3 veggie burger, rice & veggies, rootbeer, 5 pieces dark chocolate
#4 2 hot wings & 1/4 of a red potato w/butter

This morning I woke up groggy and achey and my sore throat is worse. The congestion has moved from my chest to my throat. At least its moving! #1 sausage burrito, 1 cinamon roll

I've been taking hot sauce, a little garlic & apple cider vinegar. If I'd take 6 or 7 garlic pills a day I know I'd be over this but I have a party to go to tonight & work tomorrow & don't want to smell like garlic bread.

Kate, thanks for your encouragement! Tonight I think I'd just as soon stay home in bed but you know how that goes.

Hi Jane-

I hope you are feeling better soon. My whole family was sick with some kind of bug the last week or so. No fun!!!

Hang in there!

I was miserable all night at the party. My head ached, my nose was stuffed & I was dizzy. I probably shouldn't have gone. What a way to celebrate the birthdays - I was in a bad mood all night since I wasn't feeling well. Everything seemed to take forever. I couldn't wait to get home. I told dh once I get feeling better I'll recelebrate his birthday with him.

I still felt bad today, & I had to work. In the afternoon I took all of the residents outside on our patio. I put on some golden oldies music for them, then we played ball, had snack and did our singalong out there. My voice was gone for trivia so we had to skip that but they really enjoyed listening to Bing, Dean & Judy! As always I do lots of movin' at work!

#1 veggie burger
#2 LC meal & SO keylime cheesecake
#3 3 bites of cake & SO choc chip sundae dessert
#4 dh is getting me a wet burrito from a local restaurant

Heather, I can't believe how long this thing has had me sidetracked. Since I don't have to work tomorrow I'm taking lots of garlic tonight!
