Jane E.'s Fitness Journal

I was hoping to hear you were feeling a ton better. :wizard: :wizard: that you feel better tomorrow.

149.8!!!! :yay: :yay: :yay: I made it under 150!!!!

I didn't eat the whole burrito last night 'cuz I knew that I had a weigh in coming up today!

I did a 30 minute walk today - no jogging but I will build back up! I love my morning walks. Its so beautiful outside.

I haven't eaten anything today. I felt heavy from the weekend food.

I forgot to add what I had at the party on Saturday night:
1 cheeseburger, potato salad, baked beans, strawberries, 3 glasses of chianti, and 3 bites of cake

Beth, thanks for the pixie dust! I'm starting to feel much better today. I woke up, went on my walk, fed the animals, then went back to bed until noon. I think that helped alot!

I'm here doin' the Happy Dance with you!
:cool1:  :cool1:  :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

You broke into the 140's

YEAH!!!!!! :thumbsup2

CONGRATS!!!!!

Thanks for the support, Julie! Finally!!! Now I've just gotta make it stick!

Yesterday I wasn't hungry at all until 4pm. I had a veggie burger no bun - 2 slices of whole grain bread w/Country Crock spread & jam

At 7pm I had 1/3 C of shrimp and veggies & 2 lf cheese sticks, oj

Then at 9pm dh got out the potato chips and trail mix. I'd bought jalapeno potato chips for him which I haven't bought in a long time. Anyway, he gets them out in front of me & then when I reach for some he fusses at me, "I thought you were on a diet!" AAACCCKKK!!!! :furious:

If he's going to take that attitude why does he do this in front of me?? If he would do it behind my back I wouldn't want any. Potato chips aren't something that I usually grab & eat unless its right in front of me. I bought them because he likes them but I was hoping he wouldn't eat them in front of me.

Anyway, I had 6 potato chips & several handfuls of trail mix. The trail mix was so good. I haven't bought trail mix in a long time & had forgotten how much I love it. Bad eating before bed - just what I need to keep my weight!

On a more positive note I went shopping yesterday at WalMart. I love that place! Anyway I bought some jeans size 12 for $15, got a pair of green pants for work for about the same price & 3 shirts. Everything is size 12 & fits great. The jeans are a little loose when I stand up but fit great sitting down. I hoping that before long I'll be out of these and into size 10! :Pinkbounc My midsection is definately my problem area. I've got to get my hips, abs & waist down.

Workout: full body weight workout this morning.

I just saw your weigh in number and cried!!! YEAH you are doing so awesome!!! Way to kick it!!

:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

Beth, thanks!! We can do this - one pound at a time!! I've just gotta make it stick.

Yesterday dh & I went to see Walk the Line, and I got off track. I bought my darned Milk Duds. I love those things.

Yesterday's meals
#1 SB Diet granola bar - 2 small apples
#2 1/2 turkey sandwich, carrot sticks & cranberries (canned)
#3 Milk Duds
#4 5 chicken fajita nachos, 2 Long Island Iced Teas
#5 4 potato chips & 2 lf cheese sticks

Today's workout - 30 minutes of walk jogs.

#1 1 glass of pineapple, paypaya, strawberry juice, eggwhite scramble, ww toast w/jam (NO Butter or margerine!)

Dh bought a juicer and it arrived yesterday. About 15 years ago we bought a juicer that we've used but keep loaning out. We currently have it loaned out to dh and his wife. Dh saw the ad for Jack LaLanne's new juicer. It looked a lot easier to use than ours and he actually bought it. He kept saying how he was going to use it - I didn't have to worry about it. This morning - guess who made the juice?!? It was good but I do have to limit my amount to a small glass. I think he was disapointed - he wanted carrot/apple & I went for the pineapple, papaya, strawberry blend! Carrot - yech!!

LOL at the juice! How did you like walk the line? I am back OP 100000000% now! I have to make this stick too.

CONGRATS JANE!!!!!!!!!!!! What a great job you have been doing and YOU MADE IT!!!!!!!!! WHOOOOHOOOO!!!! Keep up the good work, you will get through this and get down and be able to stay there.

Keep on   and :woohoo: :woohoo:
Chris

WTG Jane - woohooo on the 140's!!! :bounce: :thumbsup2

Your are doing an awesome job, just keep at it and you'll continue to see results!

How do you like the juicer?

I've been wanting to see Walk the Line, I think I'll rent it from the library now that it's not in theaters anymore.

DH and I saw The Libertine, just because we don't often get a chance to see an adult movie, and I figured - Johnny Depp, at least he will be good. OMG it was AWFUL. JD did a great job, but the movie itself was pathetic. At least we got in free since DS works at the theater!

Have a good day!

:thumbsup2 Jane, just caught up on your journal!!! You are doing SO great! You really should be proud of yourself!

Anyway, just wanted to pop in and say that I'm proud of you :cheer2: .

Today was an exhausting day. I'm totally worn out and in about 20 minutes we leave to go to a St Patrick's Day party. Whew! Long day!

No workout I was trying to save my energy just to get thru the day.

#1 South Beach Diet granola bar & 1 banana
#2 banana
#3 chili, homemade lf orange cake
#4 3 bakery holiday cookies, 1 glass of punch.

I think tonights going to be corned beef & cabbage with lots of appetizers, side dishes and desserts. We're taking shrimp. At least thats something that I can eat guilt free.

I overdid it at the party at work. I was so busy getting things organized & people in place that I kept grabbing a cookie here and there without really knowing what I was eating.

I've got to learn how to control my eating better. I'm so glad that I'm in a size 12 now. A coworker at work has a pair of size 12s that she never wears, and she's giving them to me. She always wears lowrisers & these hit higher so she won't touch them & now I get them. We were both overweight at the same time. Then I lost weight & went from an 18 to an 8. She kept the same weight. Then, as I regained my weight she lost hers. Now we're both a size 12.

Beth, both of us really liked Walk the Line. I love watching bios anyway. Both actors did a great job in this pic.

Thank you, Chris! Just about 10 more lbs and I'll be feeling much more comfortable. I've got to keep reminding myself that I can do this!

Kate, thanks for your review. I won't even both netflixing Libertine then. What a waste of film. He's such a good actor - its too bad that the movie wasn't any good.

Amy Beth, thanks for stopping by! I can always use the support!

I overdid it as the party. Our friend dished out the corned beef to make the line go faster - there were about 25 of us there. Anyway I ended up with 2 slices. I never would have dished out that much for myself. The bad thing is - I ate both slices. I also had potatoes, cabbage, pasta salad & 2 slices of homemade bread with butter. I skipped the shrimp appetizer. Also I had 2 glasses of wine.

There were 4 desserts. I only had one!! Actually I was too stuffed from dinner. I picked the flat cream puff. It has all of the ingredients to make a cream puff but instead it is layered into a flat pan. Awesomely good. I also wanted the Boston Cream Pie but I didn't have the nerve to get a second dessert. (Thank God!) I was sitting with a thin, 120lb woman - she only had one dessert and as much as I wanted Boston Cream Pie -there was no way I was going for it under those circumstances.

Today's workout: 20 minutes of a light, cardio workout with weights & my step plus 10 minutes of just cardio.

#1 banana & lf string cheese plus one bite of lowfat homemade cake
#2 a bowl of chili

Hey Jane - thanks for stopping by my thread...I appreciate it!
It sounds like you had fun at the party! At least you have the will power not to go for the second desert!! Me, I would have gone for it, then whined about it the next day!! So good for you!!

Keep up the good work!!

YAY on the 140's!!!!!!!!!!!! :cheer2:  :cool1: :thumbsup2 That is great that you are solidly in Size 12's. I remember when you were dying to be in Size 12, now you are on your way to 10's! You are doing GREAT!! :woohoo:

I'm glad to hear you are feeling better. It's no fun being sick.

Great job resisting the second dessert - sometimes it takes a little competition to stay on track! Maybe I can rent a skinny person to sit next to me next time I go out so I don't overindulge anymore...

Amy, its great to have you back!! :wave2: I hope your cruise went well. You barely have time to catch your breath before your surgery on Wednesday. How long will it take you to recover? The main thing is that you stay healthy and take care of yourself!

Breakfast today SB granola bar & an apple
#2 1 cup of chili, 3 "tenders" of BFL buffalo chicken, WW carrot cake, oj
#3 WW carrot cake (not Smart One's but the smaller WW) and small slice of lb cake with cherry filling & whipped cream, apple juice
#4 chili, spicy cheez its, lf cheese, 2 glasses of white wine, frapachino bar
#5 apple

I made the Buffalo chicken this weekend but instead of putting it in a sandwich I sliced up the chicken and ate them like chicken tenders. For dh I made a salad & added some of the stuff you normally eat with chicken wings: celery, carrots, salad peppers, romaine lettuce. I added lf blue cheese dressing to the salad and topped it off with slices of the spicy chicken. Dh loved it. Tonight he put the chili I made into a salad w/lf jalapeno cheese. I need to eat more salads like he does. I just don't like salads and my brothers are the same way so it must be genetic!

I went thru the EFL book tonight. I love the recipes so much that I ordered the book. I just can't picture being successful on this program without using these recipes. I'm so glad that I got the book from the library - thanks, Amy!
I really need to get down to business, quit messing around with my diet & just do the program.

We've been invited to go to Las Vegas with a group of friends but I don't think we'll be going. Everyone is going to see O and we've already seen it. That and the fact that there are NO direct flights anymore. Anyway, we're working on the house and thats taking up a lot of our time and money right now. I'd really really like to go but on the positive side at least I won't have to deal with the food & drink temptations in Vegas. However, last time we went we did so much walking that I didn't gain a pound.

Bummer about the Vegas trip! But I guess since you've already seen the show you won't be missing much...

I am going to have to make some of the EFL Buffalo Chicken. It sounds GREAT! I bet it was awesome on a salad (except with Ranch, not Bleu Cheese - YUCK!)

My recovery time is supposed to be 4-5 days. I hope to be back to my regular workout routine starting next Monday. I am officially starting BFL for Women today! It is a little different than BFL, but the basic principle is the same (5x a day, protein, carb, veggies).

You are doing so great! Once you get back to the BFL style eating, you will be in the 130's before you know it. You can do it! :cheer2:

So far today I've stuck with BFL eating!!!
Workout: 35 minutes of walk/jogs - I love getting outside and the time flies by.

#1 eggwhite scrambler w/ 1/2 ww tortilla on the side, 1 apple
#2 2 lf mozz cheese sticks w/ carrot & celery sticks
#3 Protein shake w/ skim milk (I did add 1/2 envelope of cappacino hot choc mix)
#4 turkey and lf cheese on one slice of ww bread (I've been eating the Bread for Life the past 2 weeks. There is no way I could binge on that stuff.)

Our BFL challenge is almost up. I've learned alot, binged alot, had my ups and downs but overall I'm doing much better, & the program helped get me past 158lbs. My motivation is much better than it was before starting this program. I could have done better but I'm headed into the right direction.

Amy, let me know how you like the BFL program for women. I think I've stuck to this program as long as I have because of the good recipes. As long as I can have spicy I'm fine. Can you use the EFL recipes with the program? Here we go - ending one challenge and beginning another!

Way to go on the BFL eating!!! See, you CAN do it! :cheer2:

You did awesome on your challenge. I think it's more of a way of life than doing it right all the time. You are in the 140's now! That is such a great accomplishment. :woohoo: I think you can stick to this way of eating forever. And yes, there will be splurge weekends and parties and "oops" days, but if you stick with the healthy eating 80% of the time, you will succeed! :thumbsup2

I kinda cheated and started over right after the cruise (instead of finishing the 12 weeks), but I was so far off BFL for 9 days, it makes the most sense...

I do plan on using EFL meals with the BFLW plan.

Hey Jane!

Sounds like you're doing great with the eating and exercise. Lucky you gets to run outside! Keep up the good work. :thumbsup2

(It snowed here today - I thought this was supposed to be spring!! :confused3 :guilty: )
