and waiting...

But the biggie appears to foreshadow a major policy change. As of July 16, you will not be able to make any Advance Dining Reservations (ADRs) for any dates past January 15, 2009. ADRs needed for January 16, 2009 or later will not be able to be booked until October 15.
There are 3 exceptions: Chef Mickey's, Cinderella's Royal Table, and Victoria and Albert's.
It looks like Disney is preparing to move the reservations window from 180 days back to 90 days, with the exception of the three most-in-demand. While the days of walk-up, same-day reservations everywhere are probably gone forever, it'll be nice not to have to worry about what you want to eat half a year in advance.
Did anyone see that Mark Goldhaber on Mouse Planet reported that Disney will be going back to 90 day ADRs soon? I just read about it on the TGM forums. It will affect some of us January vacationers if it's true...
I don't mind 90 day ADRs, but I sure hope it doesn't affect when park hours are released.![]()

Hmm... that's what it sounds like. Someone in dining posted a little more information they got from another site, though I can't recall which site. It stated that the 90 day ADRs would be a temporary state at that by August '09 or something like that it would go back to 180 days. I'll see if I can find it.Augh, that's confusing. Hopefully it's just a rumour!
January 15th is half way through my trip. According to the above, does that mean I'll be able to make half my ADR's next week, and half in October!? Surely not. How bamboozling!!![]()
Still waiting for those hours...!
Details have not yet been finalized, but Disney will begin transitioning to a new reservation system sometime in the late summer or early fall. As a result, Disney will only be accepting Advance Dining Reservations up to 90 days in advance starting around August 1.
The reservation window starts growing again once the move to the new reservation system is underway, and Disney expects to be back to the full 180-day window sometime in the fall of 2009. We're told that this does not affect any existing reservations. We've also heard (but not confirmed) that Cinderella's Castle, Chef Mickey's and Victoria and Albert's will still have 180-day windows.
We are planning for Jan 21-27!!!I've used the links for past years hours to guesstimate which parks we will do each day, but I would really like the hours to come out prior to July 25, when we can do our ADRs.
What are the chances of them being posted on a holiday weekend?
Also, since we are staying onsite and it's off-peak season, are we crazy to ignore the touring plan recommendations and plan to go to EMH parks? It seems silly to avoid those parks when EMH are one of the "perks" to being a resort guest, ya' know?
