jan free dining dates question

We are thinking about taking a family trip next January and we want to go during free dining (assuming they have that again next year). Can someone please tell me the exact blackout dates for this year. and am I right that as long as you check in during a non black out time, then you're good. Your stay can go into the blackout time, but it has to start when the dates are not blacked out. Correct? THANKS

For January 2012, you have to check in on the following dates to qualify for free dining:
Jan 8 - 14, later revised to Jan 8 - 12
Jan 22 - Feb 4, later revised to Jan 21 - Feb 2

For January 2011 the check in dates were:
Jan 1 - 5, 9 -13 and Jan 21 - Feb 3.

You are correct that you would get free dining on the blacked out dates as long as you checked in on any one of the dates listed above.

And as always, the usual caveat - no one knows what Disney will offer for 2013.
