Jan. 29, 2012 Dream cruise

How are the chances that a reservation will be available? I'd love to have brunch...

Since brunch only occurs 1 day, onboard ressies will be hard to get is you aren't onboard early - totally my opinion. But if there are no open spots, just ask to be placed on a wait list and check with them a couple of times to see if any spots have opened up for brunch.

Our last Dream cruise brunch was cancelled for everyone. The Captain decided to take the ship back to Castaway Cay for a 2nd day so Palo cancelled brunch . They didn't even call us, we happened to go up there the night before to see if brunch was still on and they told us that it was cancelled. Even the next morning no phone call. I really wonder how many people showed up that morning to find out Palo was closed :confused3.

Ok, I didn't know that brunch is only on sea days.
How disappointing for you, strange that they couldn't do brunch all the same. I would guess that on a second castaway day, not everybody would leave the ship as early as possible, so there should be enough customers on board.

Oh well, it's not the end of the world if we don't do brunch. I'm sure we will have enough other things to explore as first timers. And I've already booked a 2013 cruise with more sea days on the Fantasy, I can wait another year :).

I read they don't do the brunch on CC days because many staff members need to get off the ship to service that area. But I don't know why they can't have bunch on a port day (in our case Nassau).

Wouldn't it be better to wait an book the Fantasy cruise when on board so you will the discount and extra OBC?

I booked on the day they opened the 2013 days, as I worried that the prices would go up by more than the 10% discount.
As it turned out, the prices for our cruise didn't go up- it's one of the few dates without a cruise meet, so maybe it doesn't sell so fast- so I'm going to reshop it on board and get everything. My travel agent has already promised to send me instructions 10 days before we board , which will be so soon .

We've reshopped onboard as well and sometimes it does pay to rebook it even if the price has gone up a little bit IF the OBC and 10% help to offset some of the price increase. I did this for our Baltics cruise, a higher priced cruise to begin with, the price had gone up $600, but with the 10% off and the OBC we still came out about $500 ahead. So it definately pays to reshop on board.

DD & I rec'd our documents on Sat., still waiting on DH's. We are each booked in a different cabin so that's why they weren't all rec'd the same time.

DH's docs came today, so we are all set to go!

Ours did too, Very exciting!

We each have two luggage tags. I'm sure there's a forum for this, but I was curious, should we affix those before our plane trip over to FL, or should we wait until we're ready to hand them over to the Dream staff?
Is anyone taking more than 2x bags and what if you did, could you get an extra tag?
Sorry if there are answers out there and I'm being lazy... I'm tired from the holiday ;)

If you are using DCL transfers and flying in the day of your cruise then you will need to affix the tags to DCL can handle your bags for you.
If you are flying in before your cruise or arranging your own transfers if flying in the day of your cruise then you will wait to put them on your bags when in FL and before you leave for the port.
If you need more than 2 tags each you can get them at the port when you drop off your bags with the porters.
We've never taken more than 2 bags each, in fact we don't even take 2 bags for each of us. With 3 people that would be overkill on luggage. We don't even travel with that many bags when on a 2 week vacation.

:worship: Thanks!!

I was actually surprised to get cruise docs via "snail mail" - Princess & Celebrity do everything online.

We received our on the 23rd, what a nice surprise.
When I saw the FedEx envelope, I thought, that I had, once again, forgotten something at a hotel ( that is why I usually receive international mail ).
I love the cute booklet.

Does anybody have an idea of how full the ship is? I've heard folks mention they can see this somewhere?

It's getting so close!!! Even starting to pack...or find warmer weather clothes (it's about 10 degrees this morning!)

Also, still waiting (albeit NOT patiently) for our VGT/GTY room #s! Is anybody also waiting? I know it doesn't matter and we might not find out until checkin, but it's just something to do each day in antiicpation!!

Happy New Year to all!!!pixiedust:

I haven't checked it lately, but last week there were still plenty of concierge cabins available. Didn't look at other categories tho.

It seems as if there is something available in each category. I saw that the concierge cabins aren't much more expensive than our verandah cabin and now I'm tempted...
If we were alone we would upgrade without hesitation but our friends are staying on the same deck and I don't know if it would be impolite to move away from them.
The boat can't be that full because if you lokk at other cruises in January, they are almost twice as expensive.

I can't believe it's only a lttle over three weeks now, I haven't even bought plane tickets yet .

My friend from Canada said she got hers FedEx too.
