Jan. 29, 2012 Dream cruise

Hi, there are many last minute bookings, that's nice, you don't have to wait very long.

I made a huge mistake: I booked the Country Inn via priceline and was all excited until I discovered two weeks ago that I had booked it for December instead of January :scared1:.
Paid over three hundred USD for nothing, that's so typical for me, now I booked again (for the right dates) via hotwire and got La Quinta Inn, I just hope it will be at least adequate. I was aprehensive about the Country Inn as it has only 2,5 stars and the other one looks even less nice.
Bummer that we couldn't stay at the Hyatt because we have to go to the Kennedy space center .
I guess I will enjoy the ship even more.

So sad to hear! Just think about the good stuff like the fact that we're only 18 days away from our cruise!!!!!

So excited!!!!! Just booked the cruise. Imonaboat is my DH. I already booked flounders for a couple of nights. Anyone else have little ones? Also anyone with kids going to the Edge, would love for DS to make some friends before we board?

I have an almost 3 year old, given the restatement of their kids clubs policy she will most likely be in the nursery. It would be nice to know she will have some other kids to play with in there.

Hi there! My oldest son will be 3 weeks shy of 11 for the cruise, so he'll be with the rest of our crew in the club/lab. But maybe they'll meet on board!!

So glad you are "on board"! :thumbsup2

Beth

I think there are a couple of LaQunita Inn's near Coco Beach, the ocean front one looks really nice.

Sorry that you booked the wrong date, but I guess if you rebook another cruise on board, you can select the Dec date for the following year :)

I booked for dec 2011 ;), so that money is gone. We decided to fly coach to Orlando and business only on the return flight, that should make up for my mistake and it's better than saving on souvenirs .

Did you book in before the date in 2011? If not I can't believe they would charge you for a date that has already past.

I do kind of understand how you feel though, I ended up spending $360 more on airfare than I should have. I compromised by staying at the Embassy instead of the Hyatt, I also won a $100 giftcard at our local grocery store- which is at the end off the day a $100 not spent on food that I can use for the cruise. :goodvibes

No I booked a few days before that date and was quite shocked when I received a mail about my checkin "tomorrow", it was only my fault. i just feel bad for my friends as we had decided together to stay at the Country Inn and now we have to stay somewhere else. If this place is a dump I will be mortified.

I just hope that this was the last incident, then all will be fine. When we went to Orlando last year I forgot my carry on at the security screening and only noticed it much later and it was a major hassle to get it back, compared to that, booking for the wrong dates was quite relaxing ;).

No, since he won't turn 11 until later in Feb, he'll be in the Oceaneers club/lab. That said, he'll probably spend quite a bit of time in the arcade, pools, and in the basketball court area too!!

We've never been on a Disney cruise, so I don't really know what to expect when it comes to the clubs. Not sure if our kids (girls 5 & 9 and boys 6 & 10) will even like them. Since my 10yo DS will be on the high end of the age range, I'm not sure if he's going to prefer to hang out there or with us. Guess we'll have to wait and see!!

last time we went on DCL our DS was 9...he never wanted to leave the club...we pulled him out for dinner and to play bingo with us a few times...other than that he wanted to leave for a 1hour block when they were doing something that didnt interest him. 7 day cruise and he wanted to leave for a total of an hour....they do a great job in the clubs...im sure your kids will love it!

I'm so sorry about the booking. I guess when it comes to non refundable online booking, it needs to have a cautionary motto like carpentry 'measure twice, cut once'.

I'm paranoid about forgetting things too, especially whatever bag is going to be holding all our travel documents and ID's.

Woo hoo .... but I'd keep checking just to make sure they don't change your cabin before sailing.

Better check your calendar since this time in 17 days we'll be in our FL house and not on a ship cruising the open waters.
