Jan. 22- 29 , 2011 Western Caribean Cruise on the Disney Magic!!!

DH and I would like to do a Palo dinner one night too but I have a few worries.
-With second seating and needing to make sure Brooke gets fed properly, what time should I book ressies?
-How do I know what dining rotation I have so I can book when I am at Parot Cay(seems the least desirable menu)?
-How do I make sure not to go durring Formal, Semi Formal or Pirate night?
-What are the chances of getting a ressie being that I have to wait until Nov 8th to book anything?

As for the Temp, anything over 0°C is warm in Jan...lol It was 5°C today and I still wore my flip flops and a sweater. Wind is my breaking point. I HATE wind. My ears always get so cold.

I suggest everyone get there illnesses over and done with now so they are all healthy in time for the cruise.:thumbsup2 Three months from today we as well will be on our way to Orlando. I take it that most are staying near the port?
Have a great day everyone and feel better.:flower3:

we are flying out the day before but staying by the airport.

Definitely get all the sickness out now! And don't forget to get your flu shots!
BTW - LOVE your ticker!! Haven't seen that one before...

Thanks! My first one and hopefully many more to come! I just may get addicted to Disney..I'm already addicted to cruising!

What hotel are you staying at? We are staying at the Courtyard by Marriott Orlando Airport. I think we got a pretty good deal bidding on Priceline.
How are you getting to the port? We have a one way car rental. This way we can pick up a few things before we board the ship.

Can anyone confirm that there is a grocery store and liquor store near the port? I don't want to be wandering around searching for them. Will the liquor store even be open in the morning? We hope to be at the port as early as possible so we can get on board and book Palo and sign the girls up for the tea party.

I know there was a Racetrack gas station/convenience store right by the port - I don't know if they sell alcohol, though. If you go under the DCL FAQ sticky at the top of the cruiseline forum and scroll down to "P" there is a link to a thread with Port Canaveral info that is very informative. You might find what you are looking for there.

Just wondering if we have a deadline to sign up for the FE. I know that most of us are already putting gifts together and I like to try to keep the gifts as similar as possible. I think I remember reading about one on an earlier post (maybe Dec. 1st?) but I am not sure. Until then, the more the merrier!!

OK just went back to the beginning and found the deadline of Dec. 15. Sorry!

I think I am going to book Palo around 7:30 maybe. Usually the show is over by then and we can either feed the kids early or if they want to do dinner in the dining room together they can...

Funny you should ask about dining rotation! I was going to see if you could call the marvelous Abraham and see if he can tell us! :worship: Pirate night is usually Wednesday, Formal should be Monday, Semi-formal should be Thursday. So right now, I am thinking Tuesday for Palo dinner. Brunch I am going to try for Key West day or Monday. As far as getting ressies, I was able to get dinner with no problem on line last year, but couldn't get brunch. Had no problem getting a brunch ressie when we boarded. They usually hold some for on-board booking and people always cancel.

I have that addiction and think it's a great one to have!

Now I am thinking either December 1st or November 24th, the day before Thanksgiving...

LOL! I was emailing Abraham right after I emailed you!...lol. I am just waiting his reply. He may not know but if he does then you and Lynn will know your rotations. I also asked him about Pirate Night, Formal and Semi Formal nights so when I find that out we will all know!!!

I have most of my FE's done for those who are already signed up but struggling a little with the teens. Once we have a final tally I will finish them up and pack them so Brian stops giving me funny looks whenever he sees them...lol.

Just think... 3 months from now we should be at the terminal! Lucky us, we get all our shots Monday and Wednesday :scared1:

:yay: :cheer2: :banana: :grouphug: :cheer2: :yay::dance3: :banana: :grouphug: :cheer2: :yay: :banana: :grouphug: :cheer2: :dance3::yay:

So I am home sick today and watching Shutter Island.... How crazy am I!!!

Not crazy at all! I wish I was home watching the episode of Glee that I DVR'd this week!!

Hhhhmmmm! Do I feel a bit feverish?? :lmao: Maybe I should go home early!

LOL! It's a little crazy because I am home alone and it is windy and starting to storm.... bad time to watch a scary movie!

And you do look a little green... maybe you need to go home and rest!

Now I will ask the ladies who have asked to sit with me what your preference is so Abraham can put the request on my reservation and in turn will reflect your rotations as well. I think Rotation 1 seems the most desirable to me seeing as AP is up 3 times. Let me know if you agree.

Honestly......

I think Animoators is the worst of the restaurants....

my first choice would be Rotation 3
followed by 2
then 1

I am up for anything but wont eat in Animators 3 times so would probally skip it one or 2 times.
The 3rd choice puts us in Lumiers for FORMAL NIGHT which would be awesome!!!!:goodvibes

IT is cool the one night they turn it colors but it sits the opposit direction as the other restaurants and i find i get a littel nauseas everytime i am in that dinning room.

The seats are not as comfortable to me as the other seats are in the other restaurants....But that could be just becasue i am about to throw up and would rather not be sitting anyway....:rotfl2:

And the call i made also got me the same information about the nights. Sorry couldnt get back here before now....I had to go into work on my day off!!

UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH:eek:

We have always chosen to take a very earliest palo we can get that way we can make it to dinner if we want to....THus when the kids were younger taking kids to dinner. And we just had coffee and chatted.
I dont thik you will have a problem getting a ressie....If you have to do it on board you should be fine too.

We will definitley stay near the port.....WE have not chosen wear yet...WE were going to couple weeks ago and got busy with something else...Might stay just whereever we can park all week.....OR try and find the coolest place in town.....:confused3
THere is a large racetrak(gas station, food place) close there is also several groceries stores on the main drag there....I guess thats A1A...But last time we stayed there went to WALGREENS...(basic pharmacy type store, and they had a liqour section)
If you feel like you may have a problem you could always ask someone to bring your alchohol to the terminal/somewhere else for you....If you need me to i could do that for you or any one else since we are driving up to the port
JUST LET ME KNOW

Not crazy at all! I wish I was home watching the episode of Glee that I DVR'd this week!!

I LOVE MY DVR!!!!!!!!!!

JUST TO SAY IN A SEPERATE POST.......
SO IT ISNT MISSED..........................................

If ANY ONE needs me to bring them liqour just let me know.....
Since we are driving we have plenty of room.

We will be in a hotel close to the port..
If it isnt too much we can bring it into the terminal if it is then we would have to meet at the hotel to divvy up the goods...Before we go over to the terminal....

FYI we do plan to go over fairly early!!!!!!!

SO LET ME KNOW!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

My Mistake! It is Lumiere's which is best for us. AP is mostly pasta and not very good for Brooke and I. I was trying to find the restaraunt with the best options for gluten free eating. Lumiere's is best, Parot Cay is next and AP is acctually the hardest for us to eat in. Being sick is not helping my brain function much today. sorry for the error.

Hey Chrisse.....

DOnt forget....That you can get anything from any restaurant no matter what restaurant you are in!!!!:thumbsup2

Especially with the gluten thing.....I am sure no server is going to have a problem attending to your needs....

All the restaurants share the same galley....so they have easy access to all food.

Well if that's the case, I don't care where we eat! Ambiance would be nice though.

You will have to let me know how you liked that movie. I've eyed it a couple of times at the rental place but haven't rented it yet. It does look scarey.
