The boards are indeed a fierce addiction! I have also developed a terrible Smilies addiction. I keep looking for them on my e-mail at work and have to remember, they aren't there!
We booked our first (we did basically the same cruise that we are doing only 1/23/10) only about 4 months out. Not NEARLY enough time to plan! Door magnets, Fish Extender, FE gifts, t-shirts... I am a relentless planner too (and that was our 1st cruise on any ship), so that little amount of time about killed me.

Yay for more time this go round!
My 2 took turns on the top bunk and I was worried about the short rail too. Never was a problem. Kev got close to the rail one night, but I just kind of pushed him back. When he sleeps, he moves around a LOT. You never know where that kid will be when you go to wake him up in the morning!

So I was really worried about him. No problems at all. Except that the kids would have been happier with 2 top bunks!
Kevin is really social too and a major sports fanatic. At the moment, he is ALL about football as he was FINALLY able to play tackle football this year.

I am sure they will find each other.
RE: seasickness.

None of us has ever gotten motion sick at all, but I was still really worried about someone getting it. I had every med known to man including phenergen, even though the way that stuff knocks you out, if you were still throwing up, you wouldn't even know or care!

I also bought a set of SeaBands even though I really thought they were probably pretty much a crock.
WRONG... The first night we were in Parrot Cay for dinner and you could really feel the ship moving back there. Comparable to Star Tours almost. Okay, maybe not QUITE that bad, but it was moving around for sure. Not jerky, just most definitely moving. The DS said she felt sick. Great... I really did not want to go with meds 1st thing, in case they made her sleepy, so I slapped those SeaBands around her wrists and in about 10 minutes later that child was fine! Ate a HUGE dinner. Next day at breakfast, same story. Put on the trusty bands and she felt fine. She ended up taking them off to go ashore at Key West and never felt bad after that. You should get a pair. I have seen posts on the boards about people who felt so bad even meds didn't work and as a last resort tried the SeaBands (they didn't think they would work either, I guess) and voila, they felt better. Most of them kept theirs on the entire trip. There was only one other night that it was kind of rolling, and it wasn't bad (great sleeping!) but I had on high heels so noticed it more. I would say buy 1 set of SeaBands and if they work and someone else needs them, they sell them at one of the stores. Also, they always have meclizine to hand out onboard.
RE: allergies. I was checking the DS into the Lab one day and heard a CM asking a mom about her kid's peanut allergies. They were VERY thorough and concerned that they had all the info about what the kids could & could not eat. Very attentive. I would definitely bring my own epi-pen, but the servers and kids club CMs were EXTREMELY accomodating to all food preferences, allergies, whatever food issues you had, they would work with you. If there was nothing on the menu, they would make something you could eat. For your shellfish allergy - stay AWAY from Parrot Cay on (I think) the 2nd sea day. Huge seafood buffet. Couldn't move without running into fish and shellfish and sushi! It was goooooooood though...
So, where are you from? Are you interested in FEs, meets (general, girls, card games)? Kind of early, but I am hoping we get people who want to do FE's. My kids had the best time with that, as did I. I am already planning what to do this time... Also, just curious, what does clawmachine mean/stand for?
Well, enough for the night... Hope you have a great weekend and are free from snow or rain where ever you are!
