Jan 22, 2005 Eastern Cruise MAGIC Anyone?

Yeah Jill!

Then there's a light at the end of the tunnel for the rest of us! :cool1:

Did you book directly with Disney or through a TA? :teleport:

mickeyfanmom,
I booked with Dreams Unlimited. They are the best! :cheer2: Since we live so close to each other, I thought you might receive yours today, too. I'm sure soon everyone will be joining me in the dance!

For the past 4 yrs, we've rebooked while onboard then transferred our rsvn over to Dreams Unlimited. Every year we've gotten a special "treat" from them in our stateroom. Apparantly they only do this if they have enough clients onboard that particular sailing and I'm hoping we'll get another treat from them in January! I think last year we got a small canape tray and a bottle of sparkling apple cider...a nice surprise....just enough to make us feel special :teeth:

We also booked with Dreams, so maybe there are a few of us. We did not receive our documents yet. Can't wait to start filling in those little books.

Well I am learning my lesson the hard way. I was so happy to save so much money with BJ's (like Costco or Sam's Club) Travel. But I can never ever get a hold of my agent (the only time she called me back was the time I wanted to add $340 to my ressie for REAS- what a surprise, huh?!) and I just got the information for the excursions LAST WEEK! Luckily I am up to date reading the boards, so I had already booked my excursions back in October!

So I am very afraid that I will be lucky if I get my docs the day before we leave! But I am crossing my fingers- and plan to go with DU next time.(I like that they sponsor the boards and also that they have the rebate- the first TA I went to was the exact same price as booking with Disney.)

I will keep my fingers crossed, though! :wizard:

PS- Thanks for sending the pixie dust from Suwanee to Cumming though! I was thinking the same that since we live close I may have some hope! :cool1:

I did not book through a warehouse club but went through a cruise consolidator. I have not received anything yet from my agent. Thank goodness for these boards and my Passporter. I'll give her one more week. Anyway, I'm still unsure about excursions.

If anyone has any advice, tips or hints about the different excursions, I'm all ears.

PS stepmom3 and mickeyfanmom, I live in Suwanee also. I'm assuming ya'll are flying out of Jackson-Hartsfield-When are you leaving?

Ok Dreamweaver I do know that I am crazy- but we are driving! We are taking the children out of school at 11 am on Friday and driving to the port and staying the night at the Quality Suites in Cocoa Beach. (So we won't be in until around 8 pm- because my husband is driving. If I were driving we'd be there by 7!)

Our friends are flying in from NJ and meeting us at the hotel and then we are all going on the cruise together. When it's over, we are staying at the MK for one day and night and they are flying back to NJ. Part of the way I convinced my husband to do the MK after and stay at the POFQ was by saving the money by driving.

So I guess it's a ROADTRIP for us! :earseek:

You are not crazy. We were going to drive however by the time I got the kids from school and picked up DH and battled Atlanta traffic we would have arrived exhausted early Sat AM.

I just thought it would be great to connect early at the airport. I am very nervous-we are flying out Saturday morning. I hope we make it!

My Atlanta cousins have driven to the port before but I think they left early Friday morning so as not to hit the bad traffic areas. I'm from NC and so happy there will be lots of other Southerners on our cruise :) Last year it seemed everyone was from the north and midwest, not bad at all, it but it's always nice to hear a Southern accent from time to time ;)

We're flying down the night before, staying at an airport hotel and taking the DCL bus to the ship. Still haven't booked the hotel yet but hopefully Priceline will come through for us with a great deal! ::yes::

I am waiting for our documents also. We booked through a Auto club travel agent. She is never in and messed up our resverations REALLY bad.
When ever we go to WDW we always book right through them ourselves. WE do the POLY with concierge all the time. But we were told you get a better deal through an agent.
I was wondering if the agent gets the documents first or will they come right to us???

Any way
we are also leaving from NJ on Friday (incase of snow) from Newark on Connt.
staying at the hotel in the airport. At least that is what we booked it but with this agent I have a feeling it may change.

I sat and read all the posts yestreday and I am finally getting excited!
thanks guys!!!!

Some one asked if anyone is single???
YUP I am I have a 15 year old who will be off on his own most of the time, and my parents will be doing there thing too. I just figured I'd bring a lot of books to read to keep me occupied:D

anyone else get their paperwork????
Ellie

DreamWeaver5-
We are flying out early Saturday morning. I had a terrible nightmare, last night, that we had to wait 5 hours because they had to de-ice the plane. Now that you guys are doing the same thing, I don't feel as nervous. :worried: We are flying Delta at 6:45 a.m. When is your flight? We are looking into a limo ride to the airport since no one should be awake at 4am to drive!
We do live in Suwanee, but it is the Forsyth County side, not the Gwinnett.
Jill

We will be boarding the Magic three weeks from today! :cool1:

I know Piper G- isn't it exciting?

It will probably be a whole different experience from the one you took a few weeks ago- how fun!

Stepmom and dreamweaver- you will be fine flying in Saturday morning! Our temps have been so awesome- they should hold out! I was originally saying that we would DRIVE that morning- (I know VERY CRAZY) until my husband talked some sense into me. Then we were staying with friends in Florida the night before the cruise, but they were still 3 hours from the port and my husband didn't want to wake up and drive.

Then MCazer told us about the Quality Suites in Cocoa Beach having a great crusie pkg which includes leaving the car there and shuttling to the port, so that's what we are doing. Thanks again Margaret!

Can't wait to see everybody ONBOARD THE MAGIC!!! :Pinkbounc

Hey Jan 22nd cruisers- saw this on another thread-

"January, A Look Into The Crystal Ball

During the waning moments of December, the jet stream has split. One branch runs across Canada while the other takes a route across the United States. The AccuWeather.com Long Range Forecast Center expects this split flow to persist into January. The result will be near-normal temperatures for much of the country with intense cold remaining across central and northern Canada. A stalled zone of high pressure over the Southeast may keep that portion of the country somewhat warmer than normal."

Well the graphics wouldn't transfer over. But basically it shows Florida with ABOVE NORMAL TEMPS in January and BELOW NORMAL PRECIP. in January. So right now it looks good! (And if Florida is warm then CC is even warmer! :flower1: )

Let's all keep our fingers crossed that it holds out!

HOORAY AGAIN!!!Being able to literally walk off the ship is sooooo much easier than having to wait for your number to be called for the tenders....sounds like this cruise is definitely gonna be a winner! :teeth:
