Jan 2010 Code Watch

They actually got back to me I the same day...I filled out the form w/o names in our party and explained that I did get their name from the Disboards, etc. I also noted these dates were not set in stone for us & I was checking to see if they had anything for us to take advantage of for that time. We are looking at the last week in January. They had deals for mid-January, February & I think March...so maybe they won't for the end of January :confused3

Thank you! I emailed them awhile ago and still waiting to hear, I am excited to book something, but want to compare this room only rate to the possible other discounts. Just wishing I would hear something:rolleyes1

I got the same quote from Magical Vacations (THANKS swald91!): 895.52 for four nights from Jan 12-16 at the Poly. Frankly, I just wanted to see if it would work, and now I really want to go!!! Looks like I'll be talking to dh about this... ;)

:dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3::dance3:

I just booked three nights 1/10-1/13 at the Polynesian for $223.88 (that is WITH tax) per night. It was $365.00 per night without tax when I look at the WDW website (total $1232.00). The total is $671.00 for us...I saved almost 50%!!!!!!! I got a tip from someone here on the disboards to try Magical Vacations because that is where they found the best deals for the Poly...and THEY WERE RIGHT! If a better deal comes out through Disney, Magical Vacations will honor the discount if it is better than ours. We can't do the 4/3 so I think this is the best I'm going to get!

That's awesome! Congrats on the great rate.

Lisa from Magical Vacations e-mailed my confirmation today and it shows the room rate for the Poly without tax to be 199.00 per night! I am very excited. In the future I will definitely check with them before I go ahead and book on my own. They also have right on the quote e-mail when I originally contacted them that if a better rate comes out through Disney, they will honor it. This will be the first time staying at a monorail resort, so I'm really looking forward to it...especially since it is a short trip for us (usually we stay at least 7 nights and this will just be 3).

Magical Vacations came highly recommended from other Disers and so far they have been very helpful and very knowledgeable about the Poly. Hopefully all is good. We didn't want the dining plan this time and we are just going for three days and are using old tickets. We truly were looking for a "room only" and this is what this is so I'm pleased.

Thank you so much for posting your great price. We just booked Poly with Magical Vacations. The price is super good. Maybe we will see you there. I am so excited!!!

We just booked our airfare for a long weekend in Jan. I'm hoping to score a great deal as we have in the past.

OMG I got the best deal from Lisa @ **************** in August for my girls weekend. She booked everything for us and we even changed things and she never missed a beat. I am usually a do it myselfer and I will no longer be doing that when I am booking Disney because she is just to good!:worship:

I also received a quote from "Magical Lisa". Water view at the Beach Club for $213/night. :eek:The skeptic in me says "there must be a catch" (50% off rack rate???). However, the recommendations here have me leaning towards a booking....soon! The refund policy is great and I can't imagine a better room only rate coming out.

Like I posted, I booked the Poly for $199.00 per night with Lisa @ Magical Vacations for 1/10-1/13. She asked me to consider requesting a Longhouse and told me where to look to research it before I made a decision. I did and minutes later she sent me a message telling me she noted it. The next day I received the confirmation e-mail with my reservation. I think the "catch" is (not really a catch) is that the Jan. package I booked said you couldn't get the dining plan with it, but we weren't planning on doing the DDP anyway. It truly is a "room only" reservation. So far I am impressed and I am typically a "book it myself" kind of person. I say "go for it"! They really do come highly recommended here on the Dis. We were discussing it on the chat Tuesday as well.

Thanks for the encouragement (not that I need much!). I've always been the DIY type also. This deal will probably break that mold. I expect that I'll make the reservation by the end of the day.

Where did you go to request a location? Maybe I can ask for a lagoon view rather than 'quiet pool'.

OK - so how is "Magical Lisa" able to offer such great room discounts for 2010 before Disney has released discounts for 2010?

Group rates. I have used her too, even without the group rate, and she is great. Answers E-mails promptly, even on weekends! I'm just sad her Easter/spring break dates don't coincide with mine!

Are the rates just as magical with Magical Lisa for other resorts not just the poly? I'm not a huge fan of the poly...maybe the contemporary or the wilderness...or the yatch.

At this time, it seems that it's the Poly or the Beach Club.

(My nickname "Magical Lisa" seems to have caught on. I want to be clear that I meant this as a compliment :thumbsup2 not an implication that her deals are too good to be true. You never know how words are interpreted.)

Does "magical lisa" have a website with some more info? Anyone have her contact info?

I have been trying to explore all my options while waiting for a January offer from Disney. So I have begun looking at renting points from a dvc member(no one specifically), If Disneys offer is not what we are all hoping for, has anyone done this and how has it worked out. I found a website, I believe its "davids dvc resale", obviously he is acting as a broker, but any thoughts?
Thanks

I rented points for our stay last November and it was great! Go to the DVC boards here and read EVERYTHING. All the stickies. It will really help you understand how everything works. I posted on the thread what I was looking for and someone pm'd me with an offer. He has plenty of posts so he's got a DIS reputation. Be aware that the DVC person has ownership of the reservation. If you call Disney to talk to someone about your room or reservation, they won't talk to you. I'll admit I worried a little but had no reason to and have talked to many on here who have also rented points and had a great experience.

The only trick right now would be finding out what is available with such short notice. DVC's can book at 11 months out for home resorts and 7 months out for those looking to book elsewhere. We're 4 months out now so I would recommend hopping on this if you're truly interested.

If you have any questions, feel free to pm me. :)
