Y'all are in for such a treat! January is a wonderful time to go.

We have been three times in January. Each time right around/after the MLK holiday. Crowds were heavier but very manageable Saturday-Monday of the holiday weekend. After that it is essentially like having the park to yourself, with just a few other guests sprinkled in for scenery. We've enjoyed the weather each time too. Mornings are chilly (fleeces feel nice); afternoons are pleasantly warm and almost always rain-free; evenings are chilly again (time to put the fleece back on).

I think January sounds like a great time to go. Do you think swimming is a go or too chilly. We live in North Georgia and compared to Fla., it's much colder here.
I am going nuts waiting to see what they will offer. I really hope they take into consideration alot of us may not be able to go as in years past without a good offer.

I've been a number of times in January and the weather is variable. Some years it was warm enough to swim, and other years it was not. We pack our suits and keep our fingers crossed for some pool time, but try not to get our hopes up too much.

We're from piedmont NC, which is very similar climate to NoGA. All three years it was definitely warm enough to swim, at least for our kids. Though they'd probably make a go of it as long as the pool wasn't frozen over. When daytime temps are in the 70's and the pool is heated (as has been the case twice), swimming is OK by me.

This will be our fourth January trip.The weather is very unpredictable, we pack some of everything. Some days are warm enough for shorts and swimming and other times we were wishing for our winter coats.

Or you can do like we did stay at WL & take advantage of the jacuzzi/hot tub! Feels great until you have to get out .....

I just booked three nights 1/10-1/13 at the Polynesian for $223.88 (that is WITH tax) per night. It was $365.00 per night without tax when I look at the WDW website (total $1232.00). The total is $671.00 for us...I saved almost 50%!!!!!!! I got a tip from someone here on the disboards to try Magical Vacations because that is where they found the best deals for the Poly...and THEY WERE RIGHT! If a better deal comes out through Disney, Magical Vacations will honor the discount if it is better than ours. We can't do the 4/3 so I think this is the best I'm going to get!

I just heard from a friend of mine that advised against that place.
Had some problem with them.
Don't know anything more about it.

Magical Vacations came highly recommended from other Disers and so far they have been very helpful and very knowledgeable about the Poly. Hopefully all is good. We didn't want the dining plan this time and we are just going for three days and are using old tickets. We truly were looking for a "room only" and this is what this is so I'm pleased.

I have used Magical vacations for several trips and Lisa is FANTASTIC!!!
Not just for disney trips ... I have used her for many other vacations as well.
I would highly recommend her!! She really gives travel that extra personal touch!

How long did it take them to get back to you? Can I ask what dates you were looking for?

They actually got back to me I the same day...I filled out the form w/o names in our party and explained that I did get their name from the Disboards, etc. I also noted these dates were not set in stone for us & I was checking to see if they had anything for us to take advantage of for that time. We are looking at the last week in January. They had deals for mid-January, February & I think March...so maybe they won't for the end of January
