Y'all are in for such a treat! January is a wonderful time to go.
We have been three times in January. Each time right around/after the MLK holiday. Crowds were heavier but very manageable Saturday-Monday of the holiday weekend. After that it is essentially like having the park to yourself, with just a few other guests sprinkled in for scenery. We've enjoyed the weather each time too. Mornings are chilly (fleeces feel nice); afternoons are pleasantly warm and almost always rain-free; evenings are chilly again (time to put the fleece back on).
I think January sounds like a great time to go. Do you think swimming is a go or too chilly. We live in North Georgia and compared to Fla., it's much colder here.
I am going nuts waiting to see what they will offer. I really hope they take into consideration alot of us may not be able to go as in years past without a good offer.
When daytime temps are in the 70's and the pool is heated (as has been the case twice), swimming is OK by me.
The weather is very unpredictable, we pack some of everything. Some days are warm enough for shorts and swimming and other times we were wishing for our winter coats.
