Jan 2009 Code Watch

With this economy, Disney has to offer discounts or people won't go. And public codes aren't out yet, either. So I think something is coming, I just don't know when. Like a PP said, it can't be too long - because January is around the corner!

It has got to be soon or people won't have time to cancel within their 45 day range that are going the first of January.

Drat. I had really hoped that today would finally be the day!!

That said, until I hear otherwise, I can still hold out hope for something incredibly good.....like 40% off our room, or even better....free dining! :dance3: And those kinds of thoughts make me a very happy girl! :cloud9:

Now I have a ?? If I were to book a vacation thru Disney, & they offered a discount rate, pin, code could I take advantage of that? I thought that once you book it they won't apply any discounts or is that just the free dining????

When Disney offers a new code, does the old code stay available? I'm wondering if they are waiting for December bookings to increase before offering a January code. Just a thought.

Crickey! What a mess. So for 2/1-2/4 3 adults in a Poly garden view room with 3 day base tix and DDP the ORIGINAL quote was $1666.38.

SO I said book it, we go through all the info she applied the $200 deposit and suddenly the total is $2104.70!!!! I've been on the phone with her for an hour and the kids are screaming for breakfast. I was shocked, she cou;dn't understand why the price changed, puts me on hold, comes back to say she must have quoted it as 1 adult only! She had all the names of pur travel party.

I told her I had to make breakfast, just give me the code she was using. Well, they already charged my $200 deposit, but I have 14 days to make any changes/cancel. I had to get off the phone, so I've left it at that, but I know that's not a great deal.
The code she told me is DPK. Anyone heard of that one?

UGH!

Sorry...that was the wrong one! Guess I better get away from this computer for awhile!! SO SORRY!!

Forgive me for asking this if it has already been explained somewhere, but quick question:
I have a 5 day package booked with AAA with the Dining Plan and have paid the $200.00 deposit. Suppose a free dining code, or some other great code does come out in the next few days. Can I have that applied to my AAA package and who does it - I am guessing the TA. Or, would I have to cancel my whole reservation and rebook it myself (if it is a general code - I do not have a Disney Visa)

Again, sorry for asking, but this code talk is rather confusing to someone like me who is rather new at this (despite our previous trips, which were all done by a TA).

Sigh...must not be coming out until Monday. I agree with whoever said Disney is watching this thread and taunting us lol.

We are going to Disney World Jan. 8th-15th for our honeymoon. We just got marrired a week ago :) We are waiting a bit for the honeymoon.

I've got a question. I made all of my reservations through my AAA agent, and when a code comes out do I need to call her to have it apply or can I call it in myself? I havn't looked too hard yet, but I haven't came across an oversall room/package confirmation number. I have all of my dining confirmation numbers, but havn't come across any other numbers. What would be easiest???

Thanks! Sorry if this question has been asked millions of times already.

Your AAA TA should be able to apply the discount to your existing package.

If a "better" code comes out and IF it is available, you can have your TA switch your room or package to that code. Disney does not allow you to "stack" codes, ie. use more than 2. If your original reservation is with AAA or a TA, then they are the ones who are "managing" your reservation and they should make all changes. You can always cancel your reservation and make a new one, but there is no need to do that, unless you are unhappy with your TA. Hope this helps! :hippie:

We'll, guess I'm going to have to change my Avatar, until I find the lucky one that will bring on the codes!!!!!:lmao:

You can have your TA apply the code at AAA. You lose the AAA discount if you use the code from Disney. When the code comes out you will just need to figure out what discount will save you the most money. You dont need to rebook your trip. We booked a trip at AAA for Poly and ddp with a savings of $450.00. Hope this helps

I'm not sure about our back-up plan. I mentioned earlier at some point that we may have to stay offsite. I can get a condo for a little cheaper, and I would have to rent a car which would offset those savings, but I would save on food and stuff in the end. Especially because so many of our family members give restaurant giftcards for the holidays. With all of the chains in Orlando, we would be good to go!

I would love to try staying onsite though...hoping for a code!!! popcorn::

Who knows, maybe they are waiting for Election Day to come and go to see what kind of optimistic/pessimistic mind frame people end up in (that would impact spending)?

Wow!! That's a really good point! I wouldn't have thought of that but it does make sense!

I really don't think they'd offer the code tomorrow. Otherwise all us crazy disney people will be too far into the planning frenzy to go vote! Although mayber their trying to sway the election ;) :lmao:

arg !! what are they waiting for :3dglasses

since the AP code was released last week, the general discount code should be next but nothing on the weekend or this morning :headache:

I'm trying to be patient :scared:

Okay, looking at backup plans now. I found a Family Suite at ASMu for $107 per night on Sam's Club Travel. Of course, I'd have to do tickets separately & I don't think I could do the dining plan that way, but it's a $462 savings over the current Disney price!

Can anyone tell me what the package discount for AAA is? We are going 1/21-1/27 to ASMu w/3 adults +1 child +1 infant. MYW + DDP package. If nothing comes out from Disney this month, I may have to switch to Sam's or join AAA! I'm driving myself crazy trying to get the best deal possible here!:rotfl:
