Jan 2009 Code Watch

Do you know what code they used? I'm on the phone and no more avail. at the Poly... The lady asked me if I knew the code.

I just booked Poly Garden View for my dates of Jan 3-9 for $284/night. I'll just save about $70 once I buy an annual pass (I had the AAA rate before). I'm happy for any savings.

Also waiting for any other deals which might save me more...and that way I won't have to buy the AP!!

Interesting point (that maybe all of you already know)...you cannot use a children's Annual Pass, only an adult Annual Pass...that would have been a great way to save another $55. Bummer :thumbsup2

I have a question about the AAA code. Does it work any time of the year??? Because of when I am going (over MLK Weekend) it seems like a lot of the codes will not work for me. However will the AAA code??? My second question is if I already have a room only reservation how do I go about applying the AAA code if I can get it????

Boy, I come late to the table living on the west coast! Congrats to all you AP holders! I am still waiting on a Visa, Pin, or public code. But I am feeling really good about it this morning! :yay: :cheer2: :dance3: :woohoo: I will check in with ya later after I take my daughter to school!
:teacher:

My wife just called to apply the annual pass discount and was told we would not get the discount if we added the dining plan. We told the cm we dont want the room if we cant add dining and she told my wife to wait till tommorow. The cm said a discount will be coming out that you can add the dining to. Im not sure if its a AP, visa, or general public discount. My wife didnt know to ask. I hope this helps. Im hoping for a visa or general public discount.

Do you have to add the banners and icons for every message? It gets real annoying doing it everytime.

I just said that I wanted the Annual Pass rate and that is what they quoted me.

Yes you get AAA discount any time of the year. It's 10% peak season, 15% off moderate season and 20% value season. You have to book it through your AAA travel agent. YOu don't pay anything for travel agent to book it just fyi.

Mercy! Are you kidding me?? I was just about to change my current Pop ressie to the AP rate but I want to add the Dining Plan.

What if I apply the AP rates to my ressie and then another better (possibly even Non AP) code comes out tomorrow? Can I change it again??

Right now I am looking at Jan. 1 ressie for 82.00 standard at Pop and then applying the AP rate for nights of Jan. 2-4 for 49.00 standard at Pop.

I just told the CM I saw it online but forgot to write it down. I just got off the phone and got a quote of $259.00 for Poly-garden view. I dont know why they would tell you no more rooms at Poly are available. I didnt book the room because you cant add dining and still recieve the discount. Call back and check again.

Actually, if it's a room only reservation, you can book a AAA room directly with Disney. You don't need to go through a travel agent. (That's what I did.) You only need a AAA travel agent if it's a package.

Also, how much of a discount depends not only on the season but on the resort. Deluxes generally have a lower percentage off than mods or values.

And there may be some blackout dates. However, it's worth checking!

Go to User CP at the top left of the page. After you get there, on the left will be your control panel. Hit edit signature and add your icons and banners there. That way you don't have to rewrite them all the time.

That percentage only applies to Value and moderate rooms. For deluxe rooms its 15% Value, 10% Regular and Peak seasons. I just booked a package at Poly through AAA yesterday.

THANK YOU

So if I already have a reservation would I just take the reservation number down to my AAA travel agent and have her call and apply it to my reservation already??

You can change your plan if a better code comes out up to 45 days without penalty.

I booked a AP room only ressie and a AP rate with dining... they are in their system... but the discount for the dining will not be applied until tomorrow.... but the code is already there....

Will it be the same discount? Or will it be a different discount when dining is added?

You can add dining after on Nov. 7th, they just don't have the system set up yet to do it. I was assured that I keep the AP rates that I booked and then add the dining. At that point it becomes a package. They are also adding a new dining plan for counter service, but they said the savings are not as good with this plan. She did not have a price on the counter service plan yet.

Btw, our trip is from Jan 1-10 and the AP discount works for Jan 1 at the deluxe resorts, even though the web site is saying Jan 2.

You can get a room only AAA room discount by going through CRO and not a AAA travel agency.

Huh, I wrote a whole note and now I don't see it. Anyway, I just got off the phone and they said you don't need a code for AP rates, just general codes. Here are the rates she gave me for a few different locations...

Value - $49

Mod (POR) - $226.29 for two nights so about $113 per night

Cabins - $169 - almost took this one!

Contemp. - $184 for garden wing standard view - I took it! :cool1:

We were booked for two nights at the All Star Family Suites at a AAA rate of $156.40 - about $358 for the weekend. For only $60 more we got the Contemporary. It was worth it to me because we spend 80% of our time at MK and the proximity will be a huge help since we're only there for such a short trip. I am SO excited. I haven't stayed at the CR since I was a kid with my parents!! My kids are going to be so excited!
