I booked a AAA room through Disney. POFQ for 20% off.

Anyone else see the other thread on the resort board that says that a girl tried to call and make ressies tonight and was told the Disney Reservation was down for maintainance. Could it be they are gearing up for new promos???????? Is that typical????? Ohhhhhhh....here's to hoping!!

I have a feeling it will be the same as the past 2 Januarys - free upgrade to hopper and waterparks when you buy a package, which really is equal to $200 per person on your passes. It also knocked about 15% off the room.

Last January I booked Pop, preferred room, DDP for 2 for 10 nights for about $2000.

This year, I don't need the hoppers - we are only going to be in the parks for 5 days and don't plan to hop, and may go to BB one day if the weather is warm enough. So this isnt a good deal for me this year, considering I have 20% off my room right now. I am hoping it is a better deal than the free hopper/more stuff.

I agree with you. We always hop, so paying for the opion is standard for us. I am really hoping for free dinning. I know it's a long shot, but one can hope, right?

With the economy the way it is, they will HAVE to offer something to fill those hotel rooms. I'm banking on free dining.

I don't know...I called yesterday to switch from Pop to ASMu and they were full at all of the AS! They don't look like they are hurting there. Now, maybe at the mods and deluxes...

No, I don't want free dining. We only go for a long weekend so it doesn't help us. And I already have an AP so I don't need free hoppers. I want a BIG room discount - and let it be good for the family suites, please.

We are going Jan 8th - Jan 18th. We are AAA members. WWYD.... Should I call now a try to switch oour Room only Ressie for a AAA room or should I wait for the codes to come out?

We have gone twice before and never even knew you could get a discount So any money saved will be an improvement this year!

We are booked into POR. I hope I picked the right hotel...I have a DD9 and a DS who will turn 3 on the trip. We have stayed at CBR for 7 days(then Hurricane Rita delay in WLV for 3 days ) and at Coranado for 9 days. My kids loved the sand at Coranado and LOVED WL! I just hope that POR will be a good fit for my family.

The AAA rooms are hard to get - they might be gone for your dates, so I would definately secure that rate if you can NOW, and then you can always switch.

We love POR, but we don't have kids. The only thing that comes to mind that the kids won't have is a sand beach to play on. POR is on a channel, there is no beach area, just the pools.

I just tried accessing the Disney reservations online, and their system is down......does ANYONE know if this happens right before they release new discounts??

oh please, please, please Disney, put me out of my misery and just release the blasted code!

Hoping the fact that the system is unavailable means that they're putting things in place and will give us all a nice way to start our weekend....

Yes this does tend to happen!! I keep checking disneyworld.ca - because they often put the Canadian deal right on the main page at the bottom so we can access the current deal - nothing yet!

I think someone mentioned earlier that they got a $99 for Mods in past years...how long ago was that?? If that code came out we might upgrade!!

Just to let everyone know a convention is being held at Dolphin and Swan. That is the reason for the AS Resorts showing as booked. I was told this by the Moms panel. They told me last year over 7000 people were at the convention. Blocks of rooms are put on hold for the convention until Dec. 18. Both POR are also showing as booked. The convention is being held Jan. 18 -22. The 7000 people does not include the families of the people who go to the convention. We changed are dates to Jan. 2-9 because of this. No resorts are booked for those dates and you get to still see some of the Christmas events.

I just wanted to warn you the January 2, 3 & 4 will be extremely crowded. Kids will go back to school on the 5th so the dates leading up to the 5th will be REALLY crowded. I went in that time frame two years ago and the crowds were horrible - on Monday you will see a huge drop in attendance but if you could push your dates to the 5th throught the following weekend - you will be much happier with the crowds.
