Jan. 2007 rates...POR

Hello there.
I am wondering about rates at POR for january.
We have been offered a Lotusphere rate for 122.00 double in January but on another thread I saw someone has a rate of 119.00 per night for POR ....making our "special"rate seem not so good.
Do you think I can do better than 122.00 and book this myself rather than going through the conference to do the hotel booking.
I was thinking it sounded good but maybe it's not.

I have a reserv. for Jan. 12-14 at $116/night AAA rate.
