Jan 2007 codes?

I think I'd rather happily stay at my value resort and have the parks to ourselves (and hope to be able to get some walk-up TS restaurants)

I agree - I would rather pay for my own meals than deal with huge crowds......A nice room discount and/or a ticket upgrade would be nice, but they can keep their free dining for hurricane season.

I agree as well. I'd rather have smaller crowds and pay for the dining plan while staying in ASMovies resort! :thumbsup2

Hey - no need for popcorn yet, laughingmama :rotfl: I wasn't trying to be controversial - I'd love a room or ticket upgrade or something like that - just "sort of" hoping there's not a big enough incentive to attract thousands of people who wouldn't otherwise have travelled to Disney in January! :goodvibes

I wanted to come here and ask a question because I'm not sure if I'm waiting for a code or not!
The reason I say it like that is because I'm not sure how they work exactly.

DH and I reserved 1 room for when we want to go to WDW.
We also know we want to do the dining plan.

SO can we just get the room and a code when it comes out then after we apply the code can we add on the tickets and dining

OR
Do we lose out on being able to add the tickets and dining because we got the room code?

Last time around we stayed at FW and didn't worry about codes but this time we will be at ASMO and when I see people chopping a pretty penny off their stay makes me wonder if this is something we can do also!!

I am hoping for some nice code-discounts. My 1st time there (20-plus Disneyland trips) and first for my 2 DS (will be 3 & 1). We are reserved at CBR 1/23-2/1, but may add dates or switch to AKL if codes are worthwhile. pirate:

;) I'm the person you know that pays full price for everything but I'd really love to get a deal. Unfortunately, I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I have POR reserved 1/1 - 1/7. What should I look for and does it work if you're already booked through a TA?

Thanks!

Myrtle

A lot of times Disney will offer "codes" that offer various discounts during the slower times of years, which includes January. It varies from room discounts, to buy 3 nights, get 2 free, etc. The "code" is sometimes a code you need to mention when booking your reservations to get the discount. This threads helps everyone going in January...once someone hears of a code for January, they will hopefully post it here! Some travel agents will automatically continue to check to see if any better rates, discounts, etc come out and will apply it to your trip for you. You may want to check with your agent to see how that stuff works. You can usually apply the code even if you've already booked.

We'll be at WDW Jan 1-7 also. :)

I am with you!! I booked at what I could afford and if I get a discount then great... BUT I would rather pay a few more dollars and not have to stand on line forever! It is one of the reasons, why I love January.

Us too

I applied for a Disney Visa and Mickey popped out of the mail today - I did this after one of the fall discounts involved the Disney Visa - Maybe something with them will come along for January

REGARDING some insight as to when an AP might be published for Jan 07......

I made my reservations for January awhile ago, and just realized, I HAVE TO GET ON THE CODE-WATCHING BANDWAGON!!!! I actually think it is pretty fun (and it is motivation for me to get up in the morning to call in!

I'll be at WL Jan. 4-11. I have an AP and a Disney Visa, and DVC (yet, I run out of points every year ;-)) Looks like there isn't any sign yet???

I've been going nutty waiting for January rates, too! I'll be surprised if they don't come out in September! (Although October does give me more time to save up the money for deposits!)

We just booked our trip for January 31-February 7 through AAA (we're not AAA members, just like our TA there). 7 nights at AKL (water view room - we didn't request this, she just offered that, so maybe there was a special?), 5-day park hoppers, airfare, and all insurance and taxes came to $2800, which we were happy with. We plan to do SeaWorld and Busch Gardens, hence the 5-day park tickets rather than 6. There was no special on the dining plan, though; still $38 pppd.

We will be at WL 1/17-1/23 if the rates for AP come out. Otherwise it will be POR. I haven't notices very many people going at this time. I hope it isn't a bad week. :confused3

Does that include dining or not Ann?

No, dining would have been more - we skipped on it as we are light eaters and since it was full-price. Last time we went our TA had a special $25 price for dining, but I think that was because it had just come out.

Were thinking about a 4 night trip to POP on Jan 12th - Jan 16th..

This is right when the College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship is taking place... would it be a problem a POP? Should I try to change my dates?

The reason these dates work for us is that I don't have school on Martin Luther King Jr day so I could extend the trip to 4 nights.. If I go a different weekend it could only be three nights... :surfweb:
