My name is Marcelo and I´m married with Fernanda. We have a 4 year old daughter called Pietra. I work as a medical anesthesiologist and my wife as a teacher in the city called Joinville (Southern Brazil). We will be in stateroom 7514 cat. 8. It´s our first cruise (Jan 15th 2006) and we are very excited.
Hope to hear from you all

We ve been to WDW before but not on the cruise. After this Jan 15th 2006 cruise we will stay at All Star Movies for 9 nights (jan 19th to 28th 2006) and then head back to Brazil (our normal stressful working life).
Hope to hear from you all

I just received from amazon 2 books, Passporter for WDW 2005 and for the DCL. I speak english because I lived for 1 year in Coronado, San Diego as a senior highschool exchange student but my wife and daughter only speak Portuguese. Please keep in touch.

Let me know if you know there´s any portuguese speaking family with kids so my daughter can stay in the Kids club and have someone to talk to.
We hope we meet you there and have lots of fun. Do you know which shore excursions you are going to do, if any?
Thank you
Hope to hear from you all

Sorry for sending so many separate messages. It´s because the computer tells me the following message whenever I write too much:
"Your Post contains one or more URLs, The DIS requires a minimum number of posts before allowing the posting of URL's". Do you know what that means? Can you help me with that?
Thank you
Marcelo

Hello Marcelo and family:
We will be on the cruise but in May 2006. We are in the same situation as you are because, even though we speak English, my 4 years old daughter speaks only Spanish. I just want to tell you that maybe you all will feel like you are alone but this won't stop all of you from having fun!!!. This is our second cruise and we enjoyed a lot our first. Also you may find a lot of info in this forum as in the DCL age about the shore excursions. Take your time and evaluate what will you and your family will like to do on your vacations, then decide which one you'll book. This excursions are a nice way to get to know other people and enjoy the places visited, and you won't be alone. Hope this help a little.

Do you know how I can send pictures through this post?

1) the images have to be uploaded to a server

2) when posting, click the little yellow box above (right under the font size pull-down box). That will open up an imput window where you can type or paste the URL address for the image you wish to include in your post.

HTH
(hope that helps)
:)

Hi JanPrincess,
I hadn't checked this link in a while. Is your daughter going to go to the kids club? It sounds like there will be a quite few little girls on the cruise. We are not sure what shore excursions we are going to do yet. We are thinking about staying on the boat in Nas.

Marcelo,
Judgeing from that address, I'm guessing your image resides on your computer's hard drive. To show photos on the internet, the photos need to be uploaded (made to reside) onto a server.

In otherwords;
- you need to open an account on a web server,
-transfer the image(s) you wish to put on the internet to your account
-Then link to them when making your post.

(This really isn't hard, once you get used to it! :) )

There are many web servers that offer some free access.
One is Photobucket.com. I have used them and it seems pretty good.

As an example, I took a photo in "England" during April's Flower & Garden Show. From my PC, I went to Photobucket.com, openned a free account, uploaded it to my account. From your photobucket.com page - once you've uploaded (transferred) an image, it will give your the image insert information.

http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/yxxx/Your Account Name/.jpg

then if I push the yellow button while making a post, and paste that URL into the "enter the text to be formatted" area (which basically just automatically puts the hmtl coding of "IMG" around your URL - that should 'insert' the image in your post.

Like this:

Marcelo,

2 possible reasons for that:

1) are you sure the address is right? when I click on your link I cannot access the photo. When I try to get your link, my broswer directs to a different URL
" http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/users/38fa5a33/50af/__sr_/d188.jpg?ph780oCBbbfNlkKJ "

"users/38fa5a33/50af/__sr_/d188.jpg? ph780oCBbbfNlkKJ"
is found in the address once you try to 'open in a new window'

"normally" when linking to a photo, the file name ends with the file type extension - which is usually " .jpg ".

2) Since I don't use Yahoo for image hosting, I'm not sure on this, is it possible that they do not allow "hot links" ?

Also - if you want an image to 'pop up' in your posts - the URL needs to be (no spaces) preceeded by "
"

Your welcome for any help I can give you, I remember when I learned how to do this it seemed frustrating - but a couple of very nice DIS'ers used their knowledge & patience until I got it - then it is fun! :)
