Some of the hotels in wdr maybe cheaper then the hot at the airport..all star or disney art of animation..you stay there and use the disneys magical express for free from the airport to the resort and use the ground transfers from the resort to the port and from the port to the airport. .so you save on a car rental etc...

Yes, I am looking to stay at the Art of Animation. Is there a stop here for the cruise shuttle? Also, I am actually going to Universal on Friday (Harry Potter), assuming there is no shuttle there...

For anyone staying at WDW before or after, has anyone booked dining? I am staying up until midnight tonight to get Julie's birthday dinner at Be Our Guest, Sept 8th. I might book 1900 Park fare for breakfast that morning. Anyone else trying to get the harder to book restaurants?

Looking forward to celebrating your birthday! I'll add your family and your celebration to the first post. I'll add you to the FE as well.

We have a good group kids of chatting on the DIS. My DD13 Sabrina will be excited to meet Isa. Here's the link to KIDS ONLY - Aug 30 2014 ~ Fantasy ~ 7-Night Western

I hadn't even thought about it. How far out can you book?

Hi! I need some advice here. I am arriving to MCO on Thursday and going to a park on Friday. I am thinking about staying Friday night at MCO and taking the ground transportation one way to the Port on Saturday.

So I would like to know the following:
Are the pick ups at the airport only?
How do you schedule pick ups?

I usually rent a car and stay near the port the night before but thought maybe we could rest more if we go the same day. I am having mixed feelings about it now...

Hey Ilonka - I guess we're twins...We'll fly Wed red-eye or Thursday and spend Friday in a park, too

We'll rent a car. In the past it's a been a much better deal for the three of us than Disney transport to the ship, and we love the flexibility (liquor store stop). Once, when we were staying longer at the resort, we took the Disney shuttle from MCO to WDW and to get to the parks. On Saturday, we took the shuttle back to the airport to get a car. You can also rent cars at WDW, but in the past the car rental agencies at MCO had better rates. We'll see once I have our flights and check the options (time vs $).

I got 8:50pm on Julie's Bday and 8:45pm 3 nights later. Not sure why I was able to book 9/10 this morning at 6am, but that was the case so I booked both. I did wait up until midnight, then 1am then 2am and it wouldn't let me book anything. I woke up at 5am, still down, so at 6:30am I was able to book. Not sure why it is so late given the fact that the website is down. My theory is that since I was able to book all my meals, maybe I should have booked when the first opening day for my reservation. In other words, I start my vacation Sept 6th. Maybe i needed to book all the meals for the week 180 days out from the first night. :confused3

We'll likely spend one day at one park this trip. Chuck and I have been to all the parks except Animal Kingdom. Sabrina has only been to Magic Kingdom (plus multiple visits to both parks at DL). Is there a "must dine" spot if we spend the day at Animal Kingdom? The perfect snack, quick serve or table service? We stayed at AKL in 2009. I love the flavors and variety at Boma.

We are coming in on the 27th. We plan to do Harry Potter on the 28th and Kennedy Space Center on the 29th. We booked Country Inn and Suites. It was about $120/ night first 2 nights and a little more on Friday. It had free hot breakfast and shuttle was $5/person. Does this sound like a good deal or should we keep looking? We can cancel up to the 25th.

I'm glad the kids are connecting on the kids thread. A pirate night photo would be fun.

Any idea how many people/ cabins in the FE group yet Lise? Mo know u are still waiting on confirmations. We have been working on some of gift ideas already. We are so excited! When can we "check in" to get our boarding times?

At Animal Kingdom, we pretty much only eat at Yak & Yeti. I love their wonton soup & their adult beverages but its a relaxing table service. I don't find buffets like Tusker to be that relaxing or enjoyable of a meal.

My favorite place to eat at AK is Tusker House. If you love Boma, you will love Tusker House, they are very similar.

DH and I are flying in a day before the cruise and plan on visiting DTD. I really wanted to fly in a few days before and go to WDW for a few days. :(

Sent from my LG G2.

I'm thinking I'll move the folks I'm not hearing from to the seconds the FE list :confused3

What does everyone else think about that ?

Thanks for the info and advise. I'm still not sure when we'll fly in or where will stay. Time to pin down the hubby :woohoo:

I think that's probably fair enough. You've asked repeatedly in here and it's been asked on Facebook so you've definitely tried.
It's not like they can't take part, just in the 2nd group and it allows us to finalise the 1st list and start making/ buying :-)

I think it's a great idea! It's not as if the first or second group (or 3rd, 4th...)is any better or worse. It's simply that there are some who are confirmed and would like to get started.

Besides, if I don't get started soon, I'll just keep collecting ideas and never make up my mind on what to give! :rotfl:
