Jamie's Journal (comments welcome please!)

Hi Jamie-

I'm sorry the situation with your boss was is so frustrating. At least she appologized. A little communication goes a long way, you know?

Good for you for resisting Butterfingers!!!! They are my downfall....well, they are on my lists of downfalls anyway. I have many. :rotfl:

Time to buy new skinny pants!!!!!

Congrats on needing new pants!

Sounds like you are very determined and your resisting the Butterfingers was GREAT!

Hope you have a wonderful week!

Woohoo! Way to go on the loose pants! :cheer2: Even if the number on the scale doesn't show it when you weigh in next, your body does!

You did great by resisting the Butterfinger and also controlling your portions with the potato salad and BBQ lunch.

Halloween is always a hard time avoiding candy. You are lucky you don't have kids and all their Halloween treats to avoid!

Keep it up, you are doing great! :cool1:

HI everyone!!! Hope all is well.

The good news, I lost another 2 pounds!!!!! YAY.

So this weekend was pretty good. I didn't something to my hip sometime last week. I think I pushed myself a little too hard on the weights. Everytime I got up I fell because my hip hurt so bad. So I took the weekend to just rest and it feels better today. I was able to get my morning brisk walk in and do 30 minutes on the elliptical.

We are in the process of moving desks in my office so that makes me busy. I was one of the lucky ones that got to move. I have way too much stuff to fit into my new desk! It is so much smaller! We don't have offices (only the executives) and we don't have cublices. Just a desk and my old desk was nice and big. I moved to a small desk and now I don't know what I am going to do. In a way I like it because it makes my team more independent. I mean I don't mind answering questions, but I was there all the time. I don't know it is hard to explain. And I am not that far away, we can still talk in a normal voice and not use the phone.

So food today was good. I tried something different for dinner and it turned out pretty good. I took chicken and I cooked it on the stove using Pam non stick spray. Once the chicken was done, I cut it up and added 1 1/2 cup water and brought that to a boil. Then I added pasta (wheat, uncooked) I covered the dish for about 15 minutes and then added spaghetti sauce and cooked that until warm. It turned out pretty good. The only thing that I was missing was cheese. I thought I had mozzerarla but I was wrong. The good news is that I have enough left over to take for lunch tomorrow. So that worked out well. Infact I think I have enough for dinner tomorrow night too!!! That is always a big problem for me, I always cook too much so it feels like I have tons left over!

We got a Sears Grand here and we went shopping this weekend. I can say that I was not real fond of the store. It reminded me of a Super Target and I am not a fan of Target. At least here they are really expensive, so I tend to stay away and go to Walmart! But Sears Grand did have a few things on sale, like soup, soda, and spaghetti sauce! So we bought a few things.

Monday:
B at 5:30 1/3 cup cereal with 1/3 cup milk
S at 9:00 1 container great value yogurt
L at 11:45 1 can of Campbells Select soup. This was pretty good, but there was a lot in the can. I could not eat it all
S at 3:15 1 nature valley granola bar
D at 6:15 chicken spaghetti thing

I have gotten in 96 oz of water so far. I think I should be able to get a little more in. It is still pretty early here, 8:30 pm

I got a really nice compliment today. Not sure if it was true or not,but I am going to take it. My boss came to me and told me, I just have to tell you this.
Friday I left work about 5:15 or so and my boss was still there. She was the only one besides our Director of Credit. The Director walked over to my old desk(remember I moved) and looked confused. Then he says, "oh yea she moved, I forgot, but with how skinny she is getting no wonder I missed her" That totally made my day today. It made me want to get out and go shopping to show off the weight that I have lost. But I didn't!

Well I am going to try and get to other journals tonight, I have a few things that I need to get done for work too so if I don't get to too many, I am really sorry

Have a wonderful night!

I hope your hip feels 100% soon, no fun at all. I've hurt my hip before and wanted to die from the pain. You were so right to take time off to let it heal.

I'm about to move to a different desk at work too and oh boy how not fun that task is. I keep hoping they'll forget about it and just leave me alone. :D Don't think that will happen but if I'm not in a hurry maybe they won't rush me.

Your dinner sounds yummy, kind of like a chicken catciattore (sp?) that I loved but haven't made in eons! In my humble opinion cheese makes everything soooooooooo much better. I won't mention how long the waiters have to stay at our table with the cheese grater at Olive Garden :rolleyes1

That was an awesome compliment from your boss. You are doing great!! :cool1:

Hi Jamie!

Congrats on 2 pounds down! That is wonderful! :cool1: :cool1: I also have to congratulate you on the compliment as well. I bet that made you feel good! :goodvibes

I hope you have a wonderful day today! :sunny: Take care!

Not a fan of Target?!?!? Those are fightin' words! I bet a spend at least $2K a year at that place - I love it! I can't stand Walmart. While doing my MBA, we were always studying Walmart and what a corporate bully it is. I boycotted it. I haven't been there in YEARS. I also told DB not to shop there. A couple months ago I was getting an empty grocery bag for something and there was a Walmart bag in there! After my heart started beating again, DB walked into the room and said "Oh man, I thought I got rid of all the evidence" :teeth: But I digress...

What an AWESOME compliment you received! I'm sure you were beaming, and rightfully so! And congrats on the extra 2 lbs lost! You are doing great, keep it up! :cheer2:

Whew, I think I got to everyones journal. If I missed anyone, I am sorry and please know that I am thinking of you and WISHing you all well. This goes for everyone!

So this last few days have benn pretty darn busy. We are down a person in my department so that makes my life hard! but we will manage.

My eating has been very well. I had left overs on Tuesday and they were just as good as the night before. And I am not really a big left over person! Today was a little harder. I ate everything that I normally do and I was so hungry about an hour after lunch. I was so ready to raid the candy jar, but I was too busy to get out of my chair to do much of anything. So thankfully I resisited. With diesel prices being so high, I have started taking the bus to work and I swear I could have taken a lady this afternoon. She got on the bus and sat right behind me with McDonalds. OMG I so could have taken her. But again, I didn't! I walked home and made myself dinner. I had two scrambled eggs with lowfat cheese and two slices of toast. Not the best, but it filed me up and that is what I needed!

I have done really well on water. I have gotten in about 96 oz each day so that is gteat. I have gotten my exercise in, but I am taking it easy. My hip is still pretty sore, so I am just going day by day. I am counting my walking to the bus stop as exercise. I have been trying to walk fast enough to get my heart going and it has worked. So that is nice!

Well I am going to head to bed. I will get better about getting to others journals. Things here are just crazy!

Thanks to everyone for stopping by. I need all the help I can get!

What is funny, is I used to love Target. I bought all my clothes there. When they opened up the Super Target here, they raised their prices and I stopped going there. I actually used to hate Walmart, but after I worked there when my husband was laid off, (part time) I totally changed my mind. I then loved the place. And they have the cheapest grocery here in Brighton. Sounds crazy but on the average, I can save about $75 by shopping at Walmart for all my groceries. I still go into Target, just not as often!!!!!

Way to go on the eating! I used to not like leftovers quite as much as I do now. The things I love the most as leftovers are things like chili that just get better the more time they have to absorb the flavor. Yum!! Great job not raiding the candy jar.

I'm glad the hip pain is improving, I hope that it's top notch soon! Good luck with work too, I know what you mean about being down a person but it's a good day so I won't go there. :)

Hey Jamie!

Just wanted to say thank you for your continued support in my journal even when I am flaky! hehe
Oh, and add me to the list of people who like Target! ;)

Have a great night!
Mike :goodvibes

I'm glad to hear your hip is feeling better! Being injured is definitely no fun...

Congrats on avoiding the candy jar and not attacking the McDonald's lady on the bus!

You are doing great, almost halfway to your goal! :cheer2:

So the first thing I see when I get to your journal today is Amy congratulating you on not attacking the McDonald's Lady. :rotfl2: That IS comendable!!!

Seriously, good for you on the 2 lbs lost. And how cool is it that your co-workers are taking notice? :cool1:

Ok, I'll weigh in on Walmart vs Target. I like Target - it seems like the quality is a little better, but I shop at walmart because I'm a big cheapie. :rotfl: Plus the closest Target is on the other side of town.

Hi Jamie!

You are doing a great job! Way to go resisting the candy and the McDonalds! Keep up the good work! :cheer2:

Have a great weekend! :sunny:

Hi Jamie!

How was your weekend? Hope it was good! :goodvibes

Sending some :wizard: for a wonderful week ahead! Keep up the good work! :cheer2:

Hi Everyone!!!!

Lost another pound!!! YAY for me!
Sorry I have been MIA lately. I have been so busy I can't even see straight!!!! Hopefully this week things will calm down and I can get back to journaling everyday. I know that I will have time today at lunch so I will get to everyone's journals then. Just a little update and then it is back to work!

So I made my 100 cheat free days!!!! I am at 103 as of yesterday. So that is great news. I am going to keep going and see how well I do. We had candy sitting on our desks this morning, but I am going to take mine home to DH!

Eating has been good, we went out for pizza Saturday night. Did well. I had two breadsticks and two slices of pizza. So not too bad. I used to be able to eat 3-4 slices of pizza and 2-3 breadsticks!!! Great improvement! Water has been good....could be better. I am starting all over again today with the water issue. I am setting a 100 oz water goal and I am going to do it this time! I was doing well and then I don't know what happened. I just was falling short of my goal each day.

My hip feels like it is back to normal. I walked to the bus stop this morning and didn't have any problems. So I am hoping that I am all better there.

I will check back in at lunch and I promise to get to everyone's journal at that time!!! Thanks for all the kind words of encouragment. They mean everything to me!

Happy Halloween!

Great job on the portion control and avoiding the candy! Congrats on the 100 day cheat free! I think I made it 25 days...

Once you get used to drinking all that water, you will really miss it when you don't! It takes a while to get used to, but what a healthy habit!

Keep it up! Congrats on the lb!!!! :cool1:

Congrats on the pound gone and I am glad to hear the hip is feeling better!

Hi!!!

Well yesterday at lunch didn't seem to work did it! I was not even at my desk for lunch! Crazy busy again. I was able to get to journals this morning.

Yesterday was pretty good. I was short 20 minutes on my exercise goal for October so I decided that I was going to do weights last night. I do didn't want to fail and I didn't. I even went over!!! Not by much though! I did 25 minutes and I felt really good! I got in 100 oz of water, just like I said I was going to. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical and 25 minutes with weights!

B at 5:15 1/3 cup cereal with 1/3 cup milk
S at 8:30 1 banana
L at 12:00 turkey and cheese sandwich with 1/2 serving goldfish
S at 3:00 1 nature valley granola bar
D at 6:00 3 corn tortilla tacos with fl cheese

All in all a pretty good day. I stayed away from the candy, infact I didn't even buy any. I know that is terrible, but I don't give out candy. We are usually gone, but this year we were home and I just was not in the mood!

Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday!

You are SO lucky that you don't have candy around!!! That has been killin' me these past couple days! But now I am so sick of it, I have had a bag on my desk all day and I am not even close to being tempted...

Congrats on meeting your exercise challenge! Who cares if it's last minute, it still counts!

Keep up all your hard work, you are doing great! :cheer2:
